1996_LP Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Wow this is pretty unexpected. I wonder why/how Rhinestone was used in this. And why it wasn't released or made available online or on a demo tape. I sure hope Mike reads this thread. XERO DEMOS FOR LPU11!!!! Quote
hahninator Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 wow this must go to the newswire I totally agree. I made a thread and put it up so everyone can check this out. This is so awesome. NICE find and this is exactly why "bumping" old threads shouldn't matter if you have good/relevant information about the topic being discussed. Welcome to LPLive and damn, what a great first post. D4X Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Mike should definitely check this thread and tell us something we didn't know before : ) Quote
GingerLP Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I'm sure there will be lots of questions about this stuff next LPU chat. Quote
raulgabi Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Hi! I Tried to rip the song from the film(remove the talking) so this is the best I can get(I will do a better version, but I don't have time now) Click! Quote

NickDuffy Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I'm sure there will be lots of questions about this stuff next LPU chat. Oh without a doubt. Hopefully these questions aren't dodged either. Quote
Astat Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Oh without a doubt. Hopefully these questions aren't dodged either. I'm not getting my hopes up, haha. Quote
Mr_wil5on Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Sounds alot clearer than the version of the Demo Tape. I am assuming this must be used on a better format than the Cassette, probably CD, might there be another Xero Demo out there? Would be neat if we could get a glimpse of more unreleased stuff Quote
Geki Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 (edited) Someone should try to contact Mike about this...maybe he has a bunch of higher quality Xero stuff like this lying around but never thought to release all this. I bet there was a Xero demo from 2008 and this is what it stems from..Stick N Move from LPU9 says it's from 1998 and it's in much higher quality than the original Xero version with vocals, so possibly it could come from the same tape as this version of Rhinestone? And ''Oh No'' on LPUX for some reason does not have a year, is it a Xero version of Points or something? Because it too sounds a little Xero-ish. Edited August 29, 2011 by Geki Quote
Robrobbsen Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Someone Should Try to contact mike on soundcloud he answerd to me there several times Quote
LPMaskMan Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Great version, sounds really better than the demo tape. I have no clue how they make it to appear this song in the film. Quote
LinkinParkForever275 Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Wow, i think that can just answer mike if there are more songs from the Xero time! Next M&G - i will ask him about that! Quote
the tidus Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 (edited) I Think, I found the version of the demo on YT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHbvLIyqluQ sry for my bad english Edited August 29, 2011 by The Tidus Quote
raulgabi Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 I Think, I found the version of the demo on YT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHbvLIyqluQ sry for my bad english Nah, this is the 9 Track Demo version with Chester on vocals from early 2000! The film version is from 1998, and with Mark on vocals! Quote

If Oh No dated from the Xero days, Mark Wakefield would have a songwriting credit on Points of Authority. I think the lack of a date on that track is just a space-saving measure on the CD case, lol. It's probably from 1999, around the same time Sad on LPU9 was recorded. Quote
Biel Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 is there a way to erase the voices to get just the Rhinestone clip (like what was done with State Of The Art)? if so, could anybody please do it? Quote

Mr X Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Someone should ask Mark Dacascos if he's got a copy of the song Quote
