Legend
I predict this, and my prediction is correct. Money on it. It's going to be pretty hard for LP to outdo themselves on ATL. LPjahova808
Boy I hope you're wrong. I do like Across the Line and I do think it should've made Minutes to Midnight, but its wasn't a great song, but a good song. cstebila
Gosh so much speculating on a small clip, I'll continue it, BB's chorus may be a bit weak, since everyone else is speculatin so much. Legend
I'm not speculating anything. I don't expect blackbirds to sound a certain way, or whatever. I just KNOW ATL > BB. Quote me on that. hawk
Nice prediction. I hope you're wrong though. Blackbirds has got the rapping which everyone has been dying for, and we haven't even heard if the preview had the chorus in it because it could've been leading into the chorus or something. We'll find out very, very, very, very soon. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4199-across-the-line-blackbirds/#findComment-65312 Share on other sites

Legend
There is one thing you need to ask yourself.... Do you want Chesters screaming more, or Mikes rapping more? I believe ATL is the winnar. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4199-across-the-line-blackbirds/#findComment-65319 Share on other sites

Ehh..... I have to say, because Chester in my opinion doesn't do a whole lot for me screaming wise in that song I have to say Mikes rapping when it comes to these two. Xero21
Blackbirds destroys the bland lyrics and annoying pop melody of ATL! Juuuust sayin. Not that "It's your time" over and over isn't teh coolness or anything. He does scream it after all Edited April 25, 2010 by Xero21 Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4199-across-the-line-blackbirds/#findComment-65718 Share on other sites
Legend
Okay guys. I rubbed the lava lamp next to my bed and a magical lava genie came out. I asked to listen to Blackbirds and he pulled out a Zune and let me listen to it. I must say, the chorus to Blackbirds is sick, BUT... My assumption was correct. Across The Line > Blackbirds Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4199-across-the-line-blackbirds/#findComment-65856 Share on other sites
Tomer
ATL > Black Birds here too. although mike part is sick. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4199-across-the-line-blackbirds/#findComment-65859 Share on other sites
OZZY
I like them both equally. ATL sounds fucking awesome! But Blackbirds goes back to the roots with the new era incorporated into it. Nice to get another song without Chester screaming. Good change of pace. Mike's rapping is f'ing rad! But i could've used more. The lyrical content however is far superior than ATL's repeatitiveness lol Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4199-across-the-line-blackbirds/#findComment-65898 Share on other sites
Astat
Across the Line is definitely a stronger track, as far as I'm concerned. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4199-across-the-line-blackbirds/#findComment-65934 Share on other sites
Spin
In my opinion, ATL is just slightly better than Blackbirds, but both are good tracks. Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4199-across-the-line-blackbirds/#findComment-65946 Share on other sites
StephenTerrel
This thread is a good example of conclusions being jumped to. Blackbirds is at the VERY least a contender. I think it is a great song! hahninator
Across the Line is definitely a stronger track, as far as I'm concerned. This. ATL is one of my hands down top LP tracks. LP really brings it. It's so unique in so many ways for them. Blackbirds doesn't do it for me. Sabi
definitely not IMO... I like Blackbirds and also No Roads Left much than ATL Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/4199-across-the-line-blackbirds/#findComment-66132 Share on other sites
Ashwhisker
I prefer ATL to Blackbirds and NRL. If any one of them should've been on MTM it's ATL. There's just so much energy and a good combination of old + new LP without crazy screamo or sad ballad singing. cstebila
Eh both songs miss something I've wanted for a song type, a more raspy voice, and yes I realize he's lost some of that due to years, extensive touring, and what not, however I know it'd more then likely be possible to squeeze it out for the studio recordings. That old rasp that was in songs such as Pushing Me Away or Easier To Run.
