Anality Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 1. Was this song recorded in 2008/2009/2010? 2. Is this song going to be in the new album? It would be great if you could answer these questions! Quote
Geki Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 1. I'm thinking it was recorded a few days ago, so most likely 2010. 2. I don't think it will appear on the new album. Mike said the band is trying to get music out quicker and in more ways for fans than ever before so it most likely is just a track dedicated to the relief effort for Haiti which is pretty amazing IMO. Quote
Aiman Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I think it could be a bonus track on the new album. Maybe for Japan or something. Quote

Astat Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I wouldn't be surprised if they release it as a bonus track on the new album somewhere just to have it available on CD (assuming the Haiti compilation isn't released on CD at a later date), but it won't be part of the "standard" new album. Still not sure when it was recorded. I'm kind of leaning towards it being an MTM b-side. Quote

Astat Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Any reason? Musically, it sounds very much like a seed that would've come out of the MTM demos. Plus, Mike just confirmed that it's an older demo with new lyrics. Quote
Ashwhisker Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 Likely an MTM demo that didn't make it too far, with new lyrics (like Mike said) Quote
LPjahova808 Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 The way he says "A little while ago" makes me think that it was a demo for The new album though. Quote

Plus, Mike just confirmed that it's an older demo with new lyrics. well, he said, it was from a while ago; i think if it was from the MTM sessions, he would have said that it was. and i think it matches the description of the newer stuff more than the MTM stuff; they said the newer songs are more keyboard/loop-based, with programmed drums, and instrumental breakdowns, rather than with vocals. JoeyLP Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 It is a demo for their new album, but it didn't make it so when this came up they changed the lyrics and shit. Quote
[High_Voltage] Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 is "Not Alone" the song from the 8-bit game? Quote
Aiman Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 is "Not Alone" the song from the 8-bit game? The band decided to finish the song after the earthquake happened. Mike told us the 8-bit game would have a new song before the earthquake happened, so no, it's not the song from the game. Quote

Mike told us the 8-bit game would have a new song before the earthquake happened, so no, it's not the song from the game. that's what I was thinking, cause for a minute I was like, "how'd they know the earthquake was gonna happen?" Quote
JoeyLP Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 that's what I was thinking, cause for a minute I was like, "how'd they know the earthquake was gonna happen?" Yeah - thats the same thought I had too. Quote
Qwerty18 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 I'm sure it won't be on the new album, even as a bonus track. It just doesn't fit the LP mentality to recycle already released material for putting it in a new record... Quote
Linkindude92 Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 it could be in bonus edition CD. Because there should be good quality version other than mp3. Quote
Astat Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Mike said that they "never used the song before because it never felt finished." If it was a demo from the new album, they wouldn't have had a chance to "use it" for anything yet. Brad also mentions in the LPTV episode that he's "remembering how the song goes" as he's listening to it, which would indicate that it's old enough that he had forgotten about it. I'm 99% sure it's an MTM demo. Quote
Papelbon Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I thought that he said in the Larry King interview that it was written and recorded for the MFR campaign? Quote
Aiman Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 (edited) I thought that he said in the Larry King interview that it was written and recorded for the MFR campaign? Part of it, including the lyrics, was. Edited January 26, 2010 by Aiman Quote
