RogueSoul Posted Sunday at 05:38 PM Posted Sunday at 05:38 PM It's been a busy year so far in 2025 for us, but LPLive and Linkin Park are about to get even busier! After a few weeks off, Linkin Park's From Zero World Tour returns to North America for their second leg across the continent this year, and it's kicking off where it all began for the East Coast back in September 2024: the esteemed Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on July 29, 2025! As it's been less than 12 months since the last pre-show post for Brooklyn, we'll keep it light on the history. What we can discuss in detail is the band's last show at the venue back on September 16, 2024. The third show of the entire From Zero World Tour and the second full show of the band's comeback, the 28 song setlist (performed in the round on the 360 stage) was full of surprises and otherwise cathartic moments. Opening with the debut of 'Inception Intro C' featuring 'Burn It Down' vocals into a massive 'Somewhere I Belong,' Linkin Park ensured their first sets back were as dramatic as they were epic. Act I featured a slew of classics that are now rotation songs in 2025, including all three of 'Crawling,' 'Lying From You,' and 'Points Of Authority' before 'New Divide' (with its returning Moscow Intro) and 'The Emptiness Machine' capped it off. Act II was a little less robust than it is currently, with tracks like 'Waiting For The End' (with its older 2024 Intro, used a couple times this year when the song has been played without 'Where'd You Go' preceding it), 'Castle Of Glass,' and 'Burn It Down' bringing energy and emotion to the crowd. Mike's Solo added more of a hip-hop flair to the set with 'When They Come For Me' and 'Remember The Name' (at the time, the extra verse section hadn't been added in yet). The biggest surprise of the night came in the form of the tour debut of 'A Place For My Head' - the return of the LPLive national anthem! Hahninator and myself were both in the crowd to witness the spectacle, and to say that song changed the course of the crowd may be an understatement. Moshpits erupted everywhere as the band continued tow hip out heavy tracks like 'Given Up' and 'One Step Closer' before the long Break/Collapse Transition for the crew to switch around the positions of the instruments onstage. Mike and Emily returned to the stage to perform 'Lost' in its shortened piano form (the half piano/half full version they play in 2025 debuted in Mexico City at the start of the year), transitioning right into 'Breaking The Habit,' which has since been dropped from the setlist entirely. A number of songs the band played in Act III and Act IV were dropped from the set in 2025, in favor of putting in more new songs from From Zero. The list includes 'Leave Out All The Rest' (the One More Light Tour version), the new acoustic arrangement of 'My December,' and 'Friendly Fire' from Papercuts. The main set ended in familiar fashion with 'Numb' and its 'Numb/Encore' intro (without the number game, which hadn't been construed yet), 'In The End,' and 'Faint.' The three-song encore hit just as hard, with Resolution Intro C leading right into 'Papercut,' followed by the second performance ever of 'Keys To The Kingdom' - a rare rotation song in 2025! The night capped off with 'Bleed It Out,' complete with a verse of 'There They Go' over the extended bridge. The band's first show at the Barclays Center was an incredible time, and certainly beat the hell out of me in the pit! Interestingly, this would've been the band's second show there had the 2015 North American Tour on The Hunting Party World Tour not been cancelled by Chester's broken ankle. The true second show is here, and with all of the changes the band has made to the set, including rotations and new music from From Zero, we're sure this'll be another night to remember! The LPLive live reaction to the return of 'A Place For My Head' at the Barclays Center in New York, New York on September 16, 2024. This was the moment the crowd was truly unleashed - and you can see how Mark and I reacted to it first hand! With the band having nearly 40 performances overall in the state of New York and 24 in New York City alone, we'll just take a look back at some highlights the band has had in the city; prior to the From Zero Tour, the band's last performance in the city itself was an interesting one: an acoustic show for Good Morning America in the subway at Grand Central Station! I was lucky enough to be there to see the band run through acoustic renditions of 'Burn It Down,' 'Heavy,' and 'What I've Done,' amongst others. This was the only proper acoustic set the band had ever done in front of the crowd, and was my first time meeting Chester (and the last time I actually ever saw him). If you rewatch the broadcast, you'll see my dad at the front of the crowd with his camera! The last proper show the band played in the city was at Madison Square Garden in February 2011 on the A Thousand Suns World Tour. This show is legendary amongst fans for the proshot recording released by FUSE TV and the epic setlist the band played, specifically changing things up for the night, including tracks like 'Blackout' and 'When They Come For Me' as an encore opener from the new album, as well as including plenty of fan favorites like 'No More Sorrow,' 'From The Inside,' and 'Lying From You' in the mix. While most remember this show for the epic setlist, this one holds a particularly special place in my heart - this show was the first concert I ever went to! While it set me off on a path I'd never financially recover from, it certainly made its mark on my little 11-year old self, because here I am! Just a few months earlier, the band played the first full show of the A Thousand Suns Tour at New York City's Best Buy Theater, featuring the live debuts of 'Wretches and Kings' and the album's interludes, as well as being the first time 'New Divide' opened a show and the first time 'What I've Done' closed one. The band's first show at Madison Square Garden was on the Minutes To Midnight Tour, where they brought out Jay-Z for the final full performances to date of Collision Course songs like 'Jigga What/Faint' and 'Numb/Encore.' A private show at the Apple Store in Soho the night before was released as a Live EP on iTunes, featuring rare tracks like 'My December' and 'In Pieces.' The band's first headlining United States show of the whole Minutes To Midnight World Tour took place at Webster Hall, another well-known show for its proshot being shown in theaters and online on the eve of the release of the album. The show featured fresh performances of 'No More Sorrow' and 'Given Up' which had just been debuted live just a few shows before in Europe, while 'Bleed It Out' made its live debut so the band could rehearse it before performing it on Saturday Night Live the next day. On the Hybrid Theory and Meteora World Tours, the band frequented the Roseland Ballroom and even the Hammerstein Ballroom in the city, with a number of great recordings from these shows available online! Linkin Park's full performance at Webster Hall in New York City, New York on May 11, 2007. This performance was shown in theaters and broadcast online just three days later, and even features a proshot of the live debut of 'Bleed It Out!' It's been a few weeks since our last show, but the band left things off in Europe with a load of interesting changes that will have us watching eagle-eyed on the setlists for these upcoming shows. The band wrapped up their From Zero European Tour with a final massive stadium show in Saint Denis, France at the Stade de France. Surprises kicked off immediately at this show as 'Crawling' and 'Lying From You' rotated into Act I, with 'Up From The Bottom' being moved up in between them - the first time the song's position in the set changed! Its spot in Act II was replaced by a rogue performance of 'Stained,' the first time the song was not featured as a rotation song in the "ballad" spot later in the set. Moshpits erupted for 'Two Faced' before Joe's Solo and Mike's Solo were performed, with Mike rapping his demo verse of 'Lift Off' over the extended portion of the medley. 'Casualty' appeared in the heavy rotation before 'One Step Closer' wrapped things up. 'Over Each Other' appeared in the ballad rotation, before Act IV saw 'Overflow' with an extended 'The Next Episode' by Dr. Dre intro explode to life. The band had a lot of fun and silly moments at this show, but perhaps the coolest came after 'Overflow' when Emily jokingly started singing the intro of 'Immigrant Song' by Led Zeppelin. The joke continued until the whole band ended up playing the intro and part of the first verse of the song in a proper jam! Following this came 'Numb' with a half-time 'Numb/Encore' intro before, somehow, 'Overflow' accidentally started again instead of 'In The End,' the main set ending with 'Faint' after all these little moments. The encore rotation spot returned to... the encore, with 'A Place For My Head' taking the spot over 'Let You Fade.' 'Heavy Is The Crown' and 'Bleed It Out' wrapped the night up, the latter featuring 'There They Go' over the extended bridge. With all these changes made between the sets in France and two nights in Frankfurt, it's really anyone's guess as to what the band will be doing with the set for the next run of dates! Now that the band is returning to markets they've already played (London, Paris, New York), it seems they are starting to make more dynamic and structural changes to the set, such as moving around songs to different acts and experimenting with where to play other tracks. It must be noted that after performing with the classic end stage setup all year, Linkin Park will be returning to the 360 stage setup for this North American run, and the band has been in rehearsals this past week, likely making sure all the new editions to the set since moving stages are functioning properly. There is always opportunity for them to spend this time working up a new song or two for the setlist as well during this time - band members themselves have mentioned tracks like 'Blackout,' 'Lies Greed Misery,' and 'Runaway' as tracks they'd like to play live eventually, while only one song from the full From Zero album has yet to be performed: 'Unshatter.' There are a score of other tracks we'd love to see this lineup try out live including 'With You' and 'No More Sorrow,' and there's also a good handful of songs the band hasn't touched since 2024. Anything is possible, and we always say it's best to let the band cook - so whatever they serve us for the tour kickoff, we're ready to eat. What are your predictions for the upcoming setlists in the US and Canada? Linkin Park having some fun at the Stade de France in Saint Denis, France by jamming 'Immigrant Song' by Led Zeppelin before performing 'Numb' on July 11, 2025! With a new tour leg comes a new opener, and this time around I think a lot of us will be very familiar with them! Opening the first run of dates in the United States and Canada with Linkin Park will be none other than PVRIS - an alternative rock/pop outfit that has been on the scene for quite some time. Their first record White Noise and their follow up All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell made huge waves across the electronic rock circles back when they came out, and Lynn Gunn continues to push the project in new directions as she's taken head of production, mixing her rock roots with more crystalline and modern dark pop energy. I've had the pleasure of seeing PVRIS twice before, and can attest that their show will bring great vibes and just the right energy to get us ready for Linkin Park! Older songs like 'My House' and 'St. Patrick' may just be shoe-in's for their opening set, while newer tracks like 'ANIMALS,' 'Monster,' and 'Dead Weight' could bring more of that energy while still bringing in PVRIS's fresher vibe to the table. Mike also produced the song 'TAKE MY NIRVANA' from their latest record EVERGREEN, so it'd a nice inclusion into the set as well. It would be awesome to see Lynn guest onstage with Linkin Park at some point on the tour - personally I think she'd sound great on 'Burn It Down!' If you can make it to the venue in time, definitely don't miss out on PVRIS! PVRIS performing 'My House' live at the Citizens House Of Blues in Boston, Massachusetts for a hometown show on June 21, 2024. PVRIS always packs a punch live, and we're sure that their opening set for Linkin Park will be just as electric! Great to see more female-fronted bands join the fray of the From Zero World Tour! Who's going to the show? In classic LPLive fashion, we'll be heading out on the road for the first four shows of the tour as they run up and down my neck of the woods. This'll be my first time hitting the road on tour like this with the boys (last time they toured like this around here, I was 14!), so I'm more excited than ever to jam with the boys and see some of you guys at the shows! Myself, Mark (Hahninator), and Nico (GlassCastles) will be in the pit in Brooklyn, so if you see any of us be sure to say hi! Weatherman Rogue Soul is here and actually reporting to you live from the scene as I am out in the field (aka central New Jersey)! There's nothing to report beyond what anyone living on the eastern United States already understands: it is more humid than I have perhaps ever experienced up here these past few weeks, and it seems unlikely to change any time soon. It's gonna be another hot and sticky Tuesday afternoon and evening, with temperatures likely hitting the lower 80's before noon even hits. Dress light and stay hydrated, because it's going to be a hot one! After this show, the band heads up to Boston, Massachusetts for a two-night stay at TD Garden before heading back down to New Jersey for their first show ever at the Prudential Center in Newark. They're sort of in the middle of the White Noise 10th anniversary celebration, so it'd be cool if they tossed in a couple deep cuts from that. REALLY hoping we get some good ones from Use Me. Hallucinations is a shoe-in, and Dead Weight is pretty possible, but I'd love to see Stay Gold or Death of Me. Dream scenario is Gimme A Minute, but there's no shot that shows up. An interesting note is that the venue is significantly smaller floor-space-wise (lol) than many big arenas. LP had to really condense the 360 stage from the Inglewood Forum show to fit into Barclays. So, they won't have the "wings" (the side runways) on them tomorrow like the Forum had. A little concerned about song variety in the opening shows if they didn't do extensive rehearsing for this tour. But they have all tour to work in more tracks, but it looks like no normal full band rehearsals for this leg. Interesting. But then again, they threw in Good Things Go and Overflow and Lost in Mexico City without having Alex for rehearsals, lol. Always good to incorporate some northeast shows on a tour trip - enjoyed the 2012 and 2014 runs up there, and had 2015 booked... we know what happened to 2015 and 2017. Looking forward to these with Boston and for once they are inside with it being 100+ degrees outdoors. Mansfield, Holmdel, and Wantagh are just not fun to get to, not close to the city, and not great venues. These indoor venues should be considerably better. Quote

We had so many people in a huge group pre show and during the show - that Barclays pit on each side only holds 4-5 rows of folks so it's super easy to bring a big group and take up the entire space from the front row to the back row. First thing about the show is the middle of the 360 stage in the pit suffers from the sound pretty badly - you can't hear the Lying From You intro, etc. It bothered me Emily was playing to the other side of the show the entire first hour... you don't really know what's going to happen until they set up right before they come on. After What I've Done I moved to the corner and the sound was 50 times louder and the mix was incredible. The PA stacks are on the corners and it was a remarkable difference, and you can also see both sides of the stage aka see Mike on Overflow, etc. I don't think I like middle of 360 since half the band isn't facing you literally the entire show. Anyway - standard set with Casualty and Over Each Other but wow after Numb that feedback intro had me like "hmmm" and BAM From the Inside. That's the "deep cut" (lol) that all of us want in the show and boy it delivered. So glad I moved because it was incredibly loud and a total jam... I was going crazy on the floor. The girls next to me had never heard of it and then went nuts on Heavy Is The Crown next so that's the type of world we are in now LOL (aka I feel old). They fucking crushed From the Inside. Damn. Joe Hahn was going nuts and Emily skipped the second to last scream to power up for the final scream. They absolutely NAIL that song with this lineup and it's gotta be played more. A++. Crown next was great and Bleed It Out was good to close the main set. Mike totally threw us off on Notorious Thugs because it also starts "armed and dangerous" like There They Go (a note for the song page 20 year later lol). The whole structure of the end with Faint finally back closing a main USA show for the first time since 2011 rules. Papercut sent the place off, the crowd was going crazy. Love the Papercut, In The End, and Faint run. Let's keep that going. Fun tour kickoff! Quote
