GlassCastles Posted July 7 Posted July 7 We're in the home stretch now! The first of the final three shows on the From Zero European Tour is also the first of two nights in Frankfurt am Main, Germany! Within the band's storied history in Germany is a brief but fruitful history in the city of Frankfurt am Main. Linkin Park last played in the city on the Fall European Tour in 2014 in support of The Hunting Party. This show had the novelty of getting Set B for the second show in a row, likely because the band wanted to play Set A at the following show in Berlin, which was being filmed for a webcast and DVD release (the latter of which unfortunately never came to fruition). I doubt fans were too upset about this choice, though, since Set B had the new arrangement of "Dirt Off Your Shoulders/Lying From You", a full "With You", and "Somewhere I Belong" all going for it. They were also of course blessed with cross-set bangers like "Guilty All The Same", "Rebellion", and the Experience Version of "Castle Of Glass", which featured the still somewhat new A Thousand Suns interludes mixed into the latter half of the track. Speaking of A Thousand Suns, Linkin Park played the city for that album's fall European tour too! The band treated the city to a monster of a setlist, featuring one of the best 3 song runs in the band's history of "Faint", "When They Come For Me", and "No More Sorrow". I'm sure Germany had fun with that one! They also got a special "Bleed It Out" verse in the form of "Reading My Eyes" verse 1 over the intro thanks to a fan request at the meet and greet earlier that day! If that wasn't enough, Chester also sang the chorus of "Burning In The Skies" over the bridge for good measure. The show also had one of this writer's favorite openers: "Wretches And Kings" (featuring "The Requiem" and a retooled "The Radiance", of course). Yet another song that would be a welcomed addition to the show! This was a regular occurrence in the set at the time, but I do want to take this moment to highlight the Oppenheimer Outro that "Numb" had during this cycle. One of the best extensions this band has ever come up with. The Oppenheimer outro performed after "Numb" throughout the A Thousand Suns cycle. The band's first show in Frankfurt came during the 2008 Winter European Tour, and they clearly wanted to make a good impression since they added "Papercut" back to the set when it was absent the previous night. They also got a rare "Valentine's Day" performance (which even found its way onto the "Given Up" single) and an even rarer "Bloc Party" over the "Points Of Authority" intro! Since the show happened on Rob's birthday, "Bleed It Out" was stopped after his drum solo so Chester could lead the crowd in singing happy birthday to him! Between all that, a "No More Sorrow" show opener, "What I've Done" with its incredible AMBO Intro, and a powerful final duo of "Faint" and "One Step Closer", this was a truly eventful first show. Check out the band's first show in Frankfurt am Main in 2008! So, will this one live up to the rest? If the rest of this tour is anything to go by, all signs point to yes! Poland most recently had a slightly extended version of the festival set, featuring the shortened "Where'd You Go" before "Waiting For The End". They also switched up the structure a bit by dropping the encore rotation spot to add in the "ballad" spot that comes after "Lost" in the headlining set (though it followed "What I've Done" here), meaning Poland got to see the 2025 festival debut of "Over Each Other"! The other rotation slots were filled out by "Cut The Bridge" and "Lying From You", the former of which is looking more and more like it's just become a staple of the set (not that anyone at the shows seems to mind)! The show was of course rounded out by staples like "Heavy Is The Crown" and "Two Faced", which have been getting an incredible response! The crowds are really loving the From Zero stuff! Two Faced live from the Open'er Festival in Gdynia, Poland Looking back at the last headlining show also means looking back at the last show in Germany: Düsseldorf (funny how that works). We can take that pattern a step further by looking at the LAST last show in Germany that happened in Berlin, since both of those shows had nearly the exact same setlist! They even both had the Set B intros with the "Iridescent" vocal samples and "A Place For My Head" over the bridge of "Bleed It Out"! Now, they were still treated to the crowd-favorite "Cut The Bridge" and an increasingly-rare "Given Up", so it's hard to complain. Plus, Mike kept the streak of no two shows being the same alive by rapping "Petrified" over the extended transition in his solo medley, and obviously the punk rock rendition of "Numb" separates Düsseldorf from the Johnny Cash stylings of Berlin's. They could go for a turkey in Frankfurt (who could be upset about getting "Good Things Go" or "Let You Fade"?), but I don't think anyone would be too surprised if they switched things up. "IGYEIH" and "Points Of Authority" have only been played once each this leg of the tour, both in the Netherlands. Could they work their way into one of the seemingly ever-increasing amount of rotation slots in the set? "IGYEIH" live from Arnhem, Netherlands. This is the only time the song has been in the set on this leg so far Like I mentioned earlier, the band won't be going too far for their next show, seeing as they're doing another night at this venue to end Germany's 2025 Linkin Park experience. Don't fret, though, they're coming back next year! Looking outside Germany for a moment, France gets the honor of closing out the European Tour before the band heads back across the pond for a lengthy North American Tour! If you're going to the first couple shows, you might even see a couple familiar faces! On a different note, we've made it easier than ever to keep up with all things Linkin Park related without having to worry about staying glued to your screens all the time. Introducing The Messenger! It's a newsletter that we'll be sending out every couple weeks or so with all the latest Linkin Park and Linkin Park-adjacent news, so sign up if that sounds at all up your alley! You can even check out the first edition here if you wanna see what you're getting into. We're also working on building up some of the live-only song pages over on Linkinpedia! We are Linkin Park Live after all... Right now the focus is on the tracks from this era, so if, for example, you want to keep track of what verses Mike is doing over his solo (and you'll probably need an update after this show), head on over to its page! As always, we'll keep you posted on everything in the Linkin Park world, so be sure to sign up on the forums and follow us on social media (Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook)! Quote

LPLStaff Posted July 7 Posted July 7 I am jealous that this show will have the closed roof and full production. With two sets, it's going to be awesome. I had the choice between this and Wembley and picked Wembley, but Frankfurt will really be good. Quote
Jurka Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Will be there! Hopefully, they will play FTI or APFMH on any of these nights Quote

LPLStaff Posted July 9 Posted July 9 These videos are absolutely ridiculously good. Fantastic sound and video angles. Damn. The band is sounding very good right now. Quote
lpplus Posted July 9 Posted July 9 The best set from the tour,I agree. Thanks for the amazing videos Quote
Yucker Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Just woke up after the show. Damn what a set. I didn't expect Keys to be played again! Mike sang Remember The Name the second time he went to the barricade just next to me. The band sounds in a unbeliavable level. Quote

Thanks for the amazing videos Yes, a very good set. The beginning with Somewhere I Belong, Lying From You, Cut the Bridge and Points of Authority is great, but it's a shame that New Divide wasn't played. It's great that Keys to the Kingdom was played again. It's strange that Let You Fate wasn't played in the encore, but in Act 4. The only thing that wasn't so great is that Stained was played. They should have played Good Things Go or Over Each Other instead; it would have been much better. It's a shame I wasn't there, but Frankfurt is really too far away. Let's see what the set list looks like tonight. Edited July 9 by BartBart91 Quote
LPLStaff Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Well they have to rotate the songs around, surely they play Good Things Go or Over Each Other tonight haha Quote
Yucker Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Emily did almost the full Scream on Heavy is the crown (couldn't time it cuz' a crowdsurfer landed directly to my neck). Also Emily noticed something wrong at the crowd nearby the catwalk during the Faint outro, making signs to stop the song to the band and yelling "cut cut cut", but it probably was nothing important as they kept playing and the security crew resolved It quickly.
