RYG4R Posted April 25 Posted April 25 At this point, we're not getting A Thousand Suns-esque album anytime soon. I want them to dive into full-blown rock opera concept album. Please. Quote

Cesar656 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Best part of this song for me are Mike's verses, the rest I find pretty meh Quote

MMM Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) The most polarizing song from FZ. The most divisive community. Very grunge. It sounds like it was pulled out from "Crimson Chapter" but the instrumental in the chorus is a classic LP. For me best chorus on FZ but I understand why this song isn't on the album. alou2367 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Chorus reminds me of an old Paramore song but I can't remember which one. Hopefully they play UFTB at the show I go to rather than this. Quote

Luki98 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 I like it! Such alternative rock with a grunge edge. I like the lead guitar motif during the breakdown and when Emily sings to Mike's rap. Shinoda's verses themselves could be more aggressive or at least like in Victimized. For me, it's an 8/10. They could play it alternately with Up From The Bottom at concerts. Quote
AwesomeLP Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Really good song, it could easily replace Cut the Bridge in the first version of the album Quote
hybridcloudyfz Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) finally got to listen — huge fan of this one. not much to say since everyone has mentioned a lot already, i really love mike's verses & even if it doesn't directly sound linkin park, i'm still all for it Edited April 25 by hybridcloudyfz Quote

MMM Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) The phrase that "doesn't sound like an LP" is always funny. Now imagine that you only listened to HT and Meteora and someone played you "In Between". You would immediately say this is not an LP. For the next 10 years, this term will be used very often, you will see. Edited April 25 by MMM Quote
hybridcloudyfz Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) yeah, that's true — i guess you can never really directly apply that term because they're still going to do whatever they want to do, i don't mean "not directly linkin park" in a bad way at all. i used that since a lot of people have compared it to the sound of what emily did with dead sara/mike's projects before these years, hopefully that makes sense. it's so controversial 😂 i try not to think about it too hard because i never mind what they do. yes, it's unlike something they've done in the past, but that's not bad at all Edited April 25 by hybridcloudyfz Quote
MMM Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) I listened FZ today like 4 times with deluxe tracks and I almost have 100% certainty that this vocals were recorded before others. She sound more powerful. Maybe other parts of the song was reworked later in the process but I think this vocals may have been recorded in 2019 during first Mike Emily session. Yeah its perfect but another option wouldnt erase the original version from existence. HT its so big that a re-mix its meant to happen its just that if they do it now it will distract the people from the new album. Edited April 25 by JZLP-Benningstrong Quote
DaweLP1 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 (edited) Sounds 100% LP to me, with new unique Dead Sara swirl, that is improving something that is already perfect. Strong song, easily could have been already part of initial FZ release. Listening to it over and over again, the chorus is becoming a candidate for one of my favorite choruses ever. Hope to see more of this style in LP future. Edited April 25 by DaweLP1 Quote

leftshoe18 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 I love it. It reminds me of IGYEIH in that it has this grungy vibe. I expect more songs in this vein in the new era as Emily brings her grunge vibes into the band. It's interesting that this song came so early in the process. Quote
NimaLP Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I'm a happier person whenever LP music leans more into their heavy side. Quote
ChaseChief Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Seems like some people can never be pleased. 8 years ago, they complained about how soft the band had become. Now we got a heavy, guitar-driven LP back with angsty nu-metal raps and batshit crazy screams but the “Not LP” argument still hasn’t died down. Quote
Qwerty18 Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Altright, already digging the track more today. It has that fun, rock'n'roll "hell yeah" vibe, it's different for the band, but pretty fun. Quote
