leftshoe18
Back when it released, there was a lot of backlash from existing fans around the lack of rapping and other numetal elements. It was still undoubtedly successful, but it passed off a lot of fans. Source: I've been a fan since 2000 and have been a part of the larger fan community since 2005/2006. I personally know several people who completely stopped listening to Linkin Park after Minutes to Midnight released. After Linkin Park changed their style from Hybrid Theory and Meteora, many fans stopped listening (if we can even call them fans). More fans left after A Thousand Suns. For me, The Rising Tied and Minutes to Midnight did well because of the hype from Hybrid Theory and Meteora. But I still think these two albums are excellent. LPLStaff
Seems unlikely they'd do another big physical release with just doing a zoetrope and digital edition. Just because we know some song titles doesn't mean a lot of other songs exist in full. Some things we do know exist are: Watch Their Mouth (unreleased, seen on the Making Of) and In Stereo (demo, heard on the Making Of). I watched the stream where he went into the FM folder and talked about Most Kings on Twitch. He said it was just a beat that did not turn into a song. Besides the one extra song, we have no idea if anything else in full exists, but the Fort Minor Militia songs are pretty cool. A good compromise here is a digital deluxe edition with maybe one vinyl or something - do a full 2005 or 2006 show. Surely they have SOMETHING recorded in full... this was after LP started recording shows themselves. And include the Fort Minor Militia songs too along with Watch Their Mouth and some demos. I think the demand is there to do something like that if DBS just did a release themselves. RYG4R
I left during MTM era because of the change in their sound. At that time, I could not even share it to my friends because they thought LP became a boyband due to the soft songs that album had. My friends will share that LP has the best trilogy (HT, Reanimation, Meteora). I had a room mate saying that LP's lead vocalist died during MTM era because he thinks Chaz sounded like a different person due to the minimal fry scream and more on melodic vocals. I returned during New Divide era and heavily following the band's activities all the way to A Thousand Suns era. A bloke was laughing when I played The Catalyst and asked me if that's LP? and I replied Yes. This bloke responded, "What the hell happened to this band, bro? They used to be great, they sucked now". martinez
+ I will add to everything that was said in the main post a maybe the making of for believe me (if it exists), I heard that some people have seen it. EDIT: and of course an upgrade for music videos. We already might have a very busy year like potential TRT 20, a DBS anniversary and new Linkin Park studio music and live release, so that's a lot. My story is similar to yours. After many years of anticipation, MTM was a disappointment and a betrayal to me (I was 16, so...). I keep up with the band during that cycle, because the album keep growing on me. But by the time of New Divide I lost interest on them, not because of the song, just because I grew up and started to listen more stuff and LP sounded very "childish" to me, just like the people @LeonardoMF93 mentioned they stopped paying attention after Meteora. When The Catalyst came out, I was already uninterested in the band and and for me was the final nail in the coffin. But ironically I returned when Burn it Down came out and they played a legacy setlist at that European Tour. While I wasn't a big fan of Burn it Down, I guess the song fulfilled its role, it brought back many fans. And not only that, now I consider ATS their best record. Or was he part of the remix? Because of his trash talking his friendship w Mike fell apart, they were really good friends i dont remember seeing a picture of them together..
