"Cross Off" Music Video

On February 28, the day before his "Anesthetic" album was released, Mark Morton teased a music video coming soon for "Cross Off" (feat. Chester Bennington). A small video clip teaser can be seen here.

We currently do not have the release date for the music video but keep an eye on social media. It is also unknown if Mark was able to record any studio footage with Chester during their sessions together or not.

Mark recently spoke to Billboard about "Anesthetic" and included track-by-track commentaries. Here an excerpt from the interview:

Morton is well aware that Bennington's appearance on "Cross Off" is drawing greater attention to Anesthetic. He wrestled a bit about whether or not to include it after Bennington died by suicide on July 20, 2017 but ultimately decided it was a performance that did more good coming out than being held back.

"The song was special to us all before he passed," Morton says. "It had been awhile since he'd done something that heady, that scream-y, and he was really thrilled about that and you can really hear it in his performance. Everyone involved, including people close to him, knew how excited he was and how much he really loved that song, so it felt right for the world to hear it. It was an awesome session and we had a great vibe making it."

The mic stand, the calendar, there’s a lot message in this video. That guy, seems like fighting with mysterious/invisible guy. The truth? He’s fighting himself and lost, but in the end, he’s finally free. RIP Chester. Thanks Mark Morton for releasing this masterpiece.

Don't like the video at all. Did they really have to constantly show the empty mic? It started to piss me off after a while honestly. The music video version of clickbait..

Really? That is what I loved. It was a really respectful gesture.

TIL that three shots of an empty mic lasting roughly a second each during a nearly five-minute video is "constant" and "clickbait" lmfao. Fuck off.

nothing makes me cry and reminds me about chester more than the empty microphone. and the calendar, both the first thursday (as the only in first week) and the 20th crossed in black. I don't think it was a clickbait; it would be weird if there was like a full band without even a sign of a vocalist.

it's a good video.

it can hurt, but it's good.

Uh that sounds contradictory. The video shows a full band without even a sign of a vocalist and yet you think its awesome. So why is it not weird like you say

I rather decide on my own terms wether or not to fuck off. That said 3 empty mic stand shots were 4 too many in my opinion

I have one question:

how, in your opinion, could they show a vocalist if the vocalist is chester and we all know why isn't he in the video?

Easy don't show a vocalist or anything that could hint at a vocalist in the first place.

The jimmies, they are a  rustlin'

I was personally disappointed that the drummer seemed bored, but that's a nitpick. Really impressed they got John Cena for the video though!

the reason they made the video is mainly because of Chester. the mic stand really did the justice there. instead of using Chester images/footages. i dont get it why you seem so pissed off. dont like it? up to you but dont spread the hate.
