Pantera – Cowboys From Hell (6.2%) 6. System Of A Down – System Of A Down (4.67%) 7. Linkin Park – Hybrid Theory (3.78%) 8. Machine Head – Burn My Eyes (3.35%) 9. Bullet For My Valentine – The Poison (3.01%) 10. Rage Against The Machine – Rage Against The Machine (2.78%) They made the top 10! ...then again, they have Bullet for my Valentine for competition. That band sounds no different than Metallica with a different vocalist. At least all the other bands on the list actually deserved a spot.
  2. Linkin Park selling out? I thought that happened when they... Signed a Record Deal Gained Maximum Profit Band Success
  3. I think Radiohead wrote a song about this situation in 1997.
  4. I dig it. I will have to listen to it more thoroughly when I don't have commotion all around me. There was one where you changed the key of the vocals and it sounded really cool, I'll update my thoughts in more detail later.
  5. Shame on Linkin Park for not creating brand new songs for every single show that they play.
  6. This was a documentary that was filmed, most likely in early 2000, by Marc Ostrick. The song is an unreleased one that Marc recorded them performing, but never released to the public.
  7. What a brilliant idea! Linkin Park should make a record using limited capabilities instead of creativity. That is a recipe for a fantastic album. ...
  8. I'm pretty sure that his career is labeled as a "musician", not "guitarist". You are just going by what feels comfortable in your head.
  9. I wouldn't know. I never got my prize from Nick.
  10. Oh, I agree with you completely. I'm just bitching because I feel that it's unfair in the sense that it seems as if they are receiving this negative feedback NOW solely because of the rules that were broken as a result of an invisible link to the rules on DA. If the person was being critiqued on the site itself and being told what they could do to make the work better, etc, that's a different story. Either way, you're completely right. I'm just speaking my mind on this ordeal.
  11. From my perspective, the pic that I provided is all that the average user would probably take into consideration. I'm guessing that most of the people that are blowing up about this are people who are part of DA or at least visit the site on a regular basis. For me, I only go there occasionally and have no idea how the site works, so what I saw on that page is what I thought was the official rules. Think about it from a perspective of someone saying, "Hey! Check out this contest LP is having," and then they link the deviantart website and those same people see what I linked. The undeniable truth here is that even if the official rules were floating around on the official Linkin park site (which I didn't even know about because I NEVER go to Linkin Parks official site for anything anymore), they should have been clearly visible on the DA site as well. Anyways, I'm probably not contributing much by spitting the same opinion out over and over. I am basically just pissed off at everyone who are saying hateful things about this persons artwork as a result of their frustration from a flawed system. If the person comes out and says, "HA HA! I PURPOSELY SUBMITTED THIS MANY PIECES OF WORK SO THAT CHESTER WOULD SEE MY POWERFUL PHOTOSHOP SKILLS OVER ALL OF YOURS! HA HA!" that's a different story. Until then, people should take into consideration that they may have been just as clueless to the official rules as I was along with many others. Edit: Well, there's the problem that caused this outrage. It's invisible for me too. I would have never guessed that was even there.
  12. You're linking the actual rules, but there was no easy way to find them that I could see. I still don't know how to get to them and that's my exact point on this. When you have a big banner that says "Here is all you need to do" and provides those few simple steps that I took a screenshot of, what happened should have been expected.
  13. They supplied that "old" stuff in the download package. Stop jumping the bandwagon. We all know that Gingers have souls.
  14. To those of you saying this person "cheated" and abused the rules: That's all that I paid attention to when I considered entering. Now once again, should we be blaming the artist or the people who organized this event? Those are pretty simple steps to follow right there.
  15. What would be discouraging? The fact that rules weren't enforced properly or the fact that are some pretty savage LP fans who feel that it's in a completely mature manner to talk down about a piece of art that won a contest and potentially damage someones personality all because they were displeased that their hard work and efforts did not appeal to the band who hosted the contest to begin with? Don't bash the artist directly as a way to vent the frustration that resulted from poor management in this contest. We can't safely assume that though. They have always given the fans a chance to be a part of something related to the band.
  16. LOL, well played. I can't believe I didn't think of that.
  17. Most of their music videos aren't that great to me because they don't hold a story with the song. On that note, I think Michael Bay rubbed off on Joe Hahn in terms of no content, pure special effects. The special effects are fucking awesome though, so I'm content. Music videos with a story died a long time ago, so that's not LP's fault. They are just trying to get attention from all the arrogant hipster kids and I think this will do so, considering all people talk about these days is how "good something looks".
  18. I thought that was just me experiencing that.
  19. I could be wrong, I'm just quoting what Joe said in the video for it.
  20. I hate contests based on votes. In my opinion they should announce a contest ahead of time and the date that you will be able to submit your entries (not allowing a huge buildup all the way to the end). Then, they can open a submission site for a limited time and only the people who really cared to have their submission looked at will make sure that it was submitted during that limited time. That way it's more about "first come first serve" and not based on someone who knows how to market their shit and get some votes. I know this method is probably not ideal for a band with the status that Linkin Park has, because they probably aren't wanting to go through a thousand submissions just to find what looks good. Oh well, I've seen some great submissions so far. Keep it up dudicles.
  21. 2/27/04 - Little Rock, AR Meteora World Tour Shit was amazing. I remember P.O.D.'s setlist sounded like one giant ass song though. I didn't think they were ever going to end.
  22. Thanks for the add!

  23. Ah, okay. I remember reading that now. It just wasn't at the front of my mind because their post was combined with other things. Sorry guys.
