  1. "bUt ThE cHiPmUnKs!!"
  2. I'm not convinced the LPC voicemail stuff isn't just them messing around tbh
  3. I'm fully of the opinion that if the pandemic didn't happen, LP would've been back at some point in the past year. It just doesn't make sense to start your big comeback in an era where touring (which is a huge part of every album cycle) is an impossibility or has to be done through a screen. Mike as a solo artist doesn't really have to worry about it cause it seems (at least to me) that he viewed touring for PT as part of the grieving/coping process, not as an effort to push the album. I think LP will be back when they can actually get into a room together and touring is a sure thing. Like Justin said, it just doesn't make sense for them to play coy about it if they've already decided to end it.
  4. It'd be ridiculous to say he's not pretty plugged into that, but I think it's a good mix of both. A lot of new "underground but still kind of popular artists" are bending genres in a way that Mike's talked about in the past very much appreciating. I don't think he'd collab with, say, a standard 21 year old metal vocalist or generic rapper for a mix of "what are they bringing that any of my other contacts can't" and "would this sell". I've always thought Mike was very good at toeing the line between experimenting and being commercially viable, and this whole song is just another example of that IMO
  5. Because Mike is still convinced Chester joined in 98 for some reason
  6. Covering any song (even with no monetization) TECHNICALLY requires a license. But it's not the same deal as sampling where you have to get in contact with the label/band to clear it. It's incredibly easy to get the mechanical license that lets you legally upload/sell a cover.
  7. Seriously man, can you make it through one thread without bringing up OML and saying how much you don't like it?
  8. I wouldn't be too surprised if they don't do a big boxset like this again, but I could definitely see them doing a "Forgotten Demos" type thing for each album. Plus the obvious vinyl reissue, merch etc.
  9. The way Mike talks about it, I'd be VERY surprised if it was Xero Reborn. He specifically says Pictureboard isn't that bad and says it had Chester on vocals, and then immediately after says Deftest was just him and Mark messing around with a 4-track sampler. Very much implies that the song was never really anything more than that and Chester never sang on it.
  10. Well the obvious answer here is Mike made up the sample thing so they could get out of releasing Pictureboard on LPU 9, but now that lie caught up with them since they'd HAVE to acknowledge it if they wanted to put it on HT20. So Warner just passed my man Jimmy Smith a few bucks to cover it up
  11. The longer version of Technique leaked with the Hybrid Party stuff
  12. "Sing that shit motherfucker"
  13. This is so easily the best one. It's not even close. These feel a lot more realized than volumes 1 and 2 where you can definitely tell they were written in two hours or so.
  14. Why? All four singles from HT were absolutely massive. I'm more surprised that it got 5th and beat POA since I always assumed that was the most popular "non-single" from the album
  15. https://music.apple.com/au/album/hybrid-theory-20th-anniversary-edition/1526170276
  16. The EP is on iTunes at the very least, so I'd assume it's on everything
  17. Copped it for ~$140 on Amazon UK. I'll take getting it a week later for a $60 discount
  18. There's a good chance the Stick N Move demo is from Chester's audition tape
  19. There's no way there's not multiple tiers. Bare minimum there'll be a vinyl reissue. From there I'm sure they'll have a version with just the CDs, one with the album + some merch etc. I'll be shocked if the top version isn't upwards of $300 though
  20. I feel about the same about volume 2 as I did volume 1. They're both fine. The context of knowing that he did these on stream and being able to watch his process elevates them a bit, but there's nothing here I'm probably gonna go back to
  21. We never got OFFICIAL confirmation that Warrior was War, but we do know that Warrior was a working title the band used during THP. It was on a songboard with KTTK, AFN, Wastelands, MTG etc., so it's pretty likely that it became War
