Mashup Intro #2 and GATS to open the show.

Of Mice & Men have taken the stage! No production rehearsal this time around because they usually do it a day before the show at the venue, but there was a basketball game yesterday at the venue.

With The Hunting Party Tour just over the horizon, fans are still getting evermore hyped! Recently, Chester, Tim McIlrath from Rise Against, and Austin Carlile from Of Mice & Men spoke during a press conference regarding the tour, answering questions. The trio answered a variety of interesting questions, including about the experiences of growing as a band and the recording process of The Hunting Party. Read the lengthy transcription below! Kymm Britton: Hey, everyone. Thanks for joining us on The Hunting Party Tour conference. On the line, we have Chester Bennington from Linkin Park and Tim McIlrath from Rise Against. Austin Carlile will be joining us shortly. So, we'll begin taking your questions now. Please specify who your question is for and, if we could keep both the questions and answers brief, we'll try to get in as many as possible. So, Katie, if you want to take the first one now, we're ready. Operator: Yeah. So, at this time, I will open the floor for questions. If you would like to ask a question, please press the "star" key followed by the "one" key; that is "star one" on your Touchtone phone now. Questions will be taken in the order in which they are received. If at any time you would like to remove yourself from the questioning queue, please press "star two." Again, that is "star one" for questions. Our first question will come from Scott Mervis from Post Scott Mervis: Hey, guys. Thanks for talking to us today. Chester Bennington: Hi, Scott. Tim McIlrath: Hey, Scott. Scott Mervis: Hi. This is for both of you. Can you just talk about how Linkin Park and Rise Against fit together on a bill as spacing to be sort of bands from maybe different cultures and maybe bands that appeal to different fan bases? Scott Tady: Tim, you talked about the idea of not many of your guys left in the arena. Talk about the notion of being in a rock tour. And, Chester, some of your fans might not remember the glory years of arenas. We know more of outdoor festivals and club shows. What makes an arenas so special in your mind? David Lindquist: Hi. This is for Chester. You're playing our MBA Arena here in Indianapolis where you debuted with Linkin Park in 2001 as part of the Family Values Tour. I was just wondering - wanted to ask about your thoughts on that era and the longevity for the band. Rob Digiacomo: Hi. This question is for Chester. And I wanted to ask about your latest album and how the music fits into your live show? I think the album is a little bit of a different sonic approach for you guys, a little less electronic, a little more rock, so if you can talk about how you work your songs into your live shows. Patrick O'Hagan: Hey, this question's for Chester. And I just want to know what was the takeaway for you and for the band after releasing its first self-produced album? And do you plan on doing it again? Josef Lawler: Yes, my question's for Chester. On the album, Hunting Party, I was reading about the recording process is a lot more improvisational for writing and collaboration with others in the studio. And I was curious - what made you guys decide to take that approach when it came to this album? Brian Auerback: Hi. This is for Chester. You guys, you know, you've collaborated many, many people over the course of your albums and I was just curious for The Hunting Party, Paige Hamilton and for all the other guys that are on the album, how you decided that, you know, these are the guys that we'd like to ask to play on the album? What made you think of those people for this? Michael Waterlo: Hi, guys. This question's for Tim. Tim, I spoke to Joe yesterday and he was telling me about the Black Market found and he told me for the lyrics that you just kind of find your dark place and then transfer them over to the album. Can you just kind of take us through that process and what it's like to see them play out? John Serba: Hi. This is a question for Chester. The news broke about a month back that you guys were going to part from your management company and manage yourselves. And it seems like sort of a mark of success for some bands when they can cut out some middlemen and achieve that type of independence. And I was just wondering if you could kind of talk about the decision behind doing that? And correct me if I'm wrong, but it just seems like instead of being on someone else's roster, you're not the employee; you're the employer now, right? Kris Dunn: Hi. This question is for Tim. Tim, with so much deep and dark emotions behind not just your lyrics on the Black Market album, but pretty much all lyrics in this album, how do you prepare for your shows? How do you maintain that focus and energy level to go out there each and every day on stage? Derek Oswald: Hi. Chester Bennington: (overlapping) I like Tim's answers way better than mine. He can just answer the rest. Derek Oswald: Yeah, have him answer the questions for you. Tim McIlrath: I'll just start saying, "I'm Chester," and then - Derek Oswald: So, this next one's for Chester, but if Tim wants to take a stab at trying to answer it, he can. I wonder - actually something somebody said earlier actually made me think about back in the day you guys have been touring for quite some time. Back in 2001, you infamously did 321 shows and 365 days, if I understand correctly. Chester Bennington: (overlapping) I think we were on the road for 321 days out of 365, if I Derek Oswald: What I would like is - Chester Bennington: (overlapping) 300 shows. Derek Oswald: Yeah. Well, that's what I mean. So, like, going back, what was it like being on the road for that long? And now that you've actually kind of became more successful as a band now, do you ever think that you'll be on tour for that long again, given that, you know, now you don't have to prove yourselves? Now, you guys are a very successful band. Jim Gilbert: This message is for Tim. Having been involved in the punk scene for 20 years, can you describe how the scene has changed over the past couple decades and whether there are any emerging punk bands that are capturing your attention? Bryan Corder: Yeah. This actually is for Austin. You've mentioned numerous times that Linkin Park was a huge influence in your music life. What is it about the music and the band that makes that influence so strong? Laurel Feakes: My question is for Chester. And I was just wondering what inspired your foundation Music For Relief? Sean Chin: Hi, Chester. Thank you so much for talking to us today. Chester Bennington: Yeah, no problem. Sean Chin: So, you guys have been active since 1996 and how has your music evolved over the 18 years? And how has the foundation evolved in parallel? Zachary Birdsong: So, with that being said, whenever you guys go on tour, do you kind of feel pressured to provide bands with what they've come to expect from your live show? Or do you strive to go in a new direction? Kinsey Haynes: I have two questions. One's for Austin and one's for Chester. For Austin, I know someone touched on this earlier, but I want to know, like, what it's actually like touring with Linkin Park since they're one of your favorite bands. And then for Chester, I want to know, like, where the influence for the song, "War," off the Hunting Party came from, because it's very punk Scott Yager: Hey, everybody. How's everybody doing? This question is actually for Chester and for Tim. Now, you guys have such similar performance styles. I mean, some might say you guys scream at equal volume at times. You guys remind me of each other. I know I got introduced to you guys at different points in my life. I assume you guys got introduced to each other at different points in you guys' life. I just want to know - how would you describe the first time you heard Linkin Park, Tim, and try to describe the first time you heard Rise Against, Chester. And just what your thoughts were; what you thought about each other as performers before you met each other and now having worked with each other a bit. David Stagg: Hey, fellows. I hope you're staying warm. Linkin Park is definitely known for their collaboration and those are an integral part of the punk rock ethic as well. It's also a proud part of the younger up and coming scene that Of Mice and Men is part of. So, this question's for anyone that's allowed to answer. Are there any major collaborations planned we should look out for? Is there anything that you guys can see on The Hunting Party tour that we should let our fans know about? Operator: Ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately, we're out of time. Thank you so much for your time. This concludes today's conference. You may now disconnect. Chester Bennington: Thank you, guys. It was great talking with you guys. Tim, take care. Austin, see you guys soon. Tim McIlrath: Yeah. Thanks, everybody. Chester Bennington: Yeah. Looking forward to working with you, Tim. Tim McIlrath: All right, man. Austin Carlile: Thanks.

That same argument could be used for Rebellion. The guitar Brad uses for it was originally a backup Drop D tuning (Astat can check that) but they tuned it to Drop C specifically for Rebellion
-
Im not confirming anything, nor did Iclaim to.I'm just saying based on what we've figured out, this is what looks like is going to happen.
-
Thank you. I didn't put an hour of work into it, I just wrote down a few sentences and thought it was enough. I'm glad someone could point out how useless my effort was instead of making a relevant comment.

It's that time again! Linkin Park is officially back on tour after a month long break for the holidays for their second North American run of The Hunting Party Touring Cycle (the first one being the Carnivores Tour with Thirty Seconds To Mars and AFI in Summer 2014). This time, the band will be bringing special guests Rise Against and Of Mice & Men on the road with them for the month-long tour. The 2015 Winter North American Tour will be hitting cities the band hasn't performed at for years (the latest being 2012, the earliest being never!) including Nashville, Ontario, and Manchester. This will be the band's fourth appearance in Orlando, and the first time since July 2003 - it's been an entire decade since they've performed there! The band will take the stage at the Amway Center at this show, a venue new for the band. The first known performance we have of Linkin Park in Orlando dates back to July 2000 at The Sapphire, famous for being the earliest live recording we %5Bcurrently%5D have of the band. You can grab the audio recording from The MP3 Collection thread in our Audio Downloads section! This show take place before the release of Hybrid Theory, but the band still played everyone's favorites including 'A Place For My Head', 'Points Of Authority', and 'One Step Closer'. The band returned to Orlando later that year in November, at Hard Rock Live. We don't have any details regarding that show - if you have any, be sure to tell us anything you remember! We can certainly say the band performed a bunch of songs from the then-newly released Hybrid Theory including 'With You' and 'Runaway'. The band's most recent performance in Orlando was at the Florida Citrus Bowl, in July 2003 on Metallica's 'Summer Sanitarium' Tour. The band performed many Meteora songs in Orlando for the first time, including 'Faint', 'Figure.09', and 'From The Inside'. Hopefully the band can keep up their history of strong shows in Orlando! The question even will be asking as the tour inches closer to beginning - what will the band be playing? New songs from The Hunting Party? The same-old setlist we've seen? New setlists? Well, to be honest, possibly a mix of everything. Mike has hinted that for the upcoming tour, there wouldn't be too many significant changes to the set, possibly rotating some songs around and adding one or two new THP songs into the mix. Recently, in an interview with 102.9 The Buzz's Hayley St. John, he commented on how the "setlist we've been playing really incorporates every era of the band." While we can't argue with that, it seemed like the band would be making minimal changes to the setlist. That is, until the band posted this picture to Instagram, with the caption, "BBB rehearsing a new song." While we can't say 100% for certain what that song will be, with the conclusions drawn by Linkin Park guru Astat, it looks like the band will be adding 'War' into the setlist. As for other changes, we're not too sure. It is known the band has rehearsed through the entirety of both Hybrid Theory and The Hunting Party at some point in this touring cycle's rehearsals, as well as some other heavy hitters like 'No More Sorrow', 'Breaking The Habit', and 'Wretches and Kings'. Will any of those songs have a chance of seeing the limelight again? For a list of songs the band has rehearsed but not played over the years, check out this thread. Another variable to look forward to are new verses rapped over Mike's Solo Medley (so far, he's rapped 'Remember The Name', the 'Skin To Bone' Nick Catchdubs Remix, 'When They Come For Me', 'Hands Held High' (2x), and 'High Voltage' (1x)). According to this poll, other songs the fans want to see include 'In Stereo', 'Dedicated', and 'Step Up'! What verses do YOU want to see over his medley? With the addition of 'War' into the setlist, that will bring the total number of The Hunting Party songs in the setlist to a 6 1/2 (since 'The Summoning' appears in Mashup Intro #2). Check out this video of the live debut of 'Rebellion' back in West Palm Beach, FL on the Carnivores Tour. Will 'War' be a great live song? What other songs from The Hunting Party do you want to see live? The two bands Linkin Park will be touring with this time around definitely fit in with the whole "heavy" aspect of The Hunting Party. Rise Against and Of Mice & Men! Rise Against are known for their powerful shows and songs such as 'Prayer Of The Refugee', 'Give It All' and 'Savior'. Their newest album, The Black Market was released last year. Expect to see a mix of their hits and new songs during their set! Tim McIlrath, the band's lead singer, joined Linkin Park onstage for 'Bleed It Out' on the two holiday shows they performed at in December. Will we see this collaboration happen more often? Tim's voice may be complimentary to 'War'! Of Mice & Men is a name you should all be familiar with - a fantastic novel by John Steinbeck. Also, a heavy rock band hailing from California. They joined the band on their last major tour in Europe back in 2014. Austin Carlile has been constantly coming out to sing with Chester during 'Faint', and Aaron Pauley began to sing during the 'Iridescent' portion of the Ballad Medley, as well. The band just released a live music video for their song 'Identity Disorder', featuring footage from The Hunting Party European Tour, where they began playing the song for the first time. The deluxe version of their new album, Restoring Force is set to be released later this month. A bunch of collaborations are possibilities here - hopefully we'll see them often! The Linkin Park world has been busy outside of this tour as well - last month, the OST for Joe's movie, MALL was released featuring previously unreleased songs including 'It Goes Through' and 'White Noise'. LPLive managed to get a hold of the songs from the mobile app, "Linkin Park Recharged: Wastelands" as well, featuring brand new tracks like 'Dawn' and 'Charge'. Grab them all here! More tour rumors have been popping up everywhere - shows in Asia (China, India), South America (Rock in Rio Brazil), Europe (Rockenheim, Glastonbury) and North America (Mayhem Festival Tour) are all possibilities! Check out all the rumors in this thread. Who's pumped for the new tour?! If you're heading to the show, be sure to post in this thread - LPLive member Papercut will be there! Anyone thinking of a LPLive meetup? We're going to be covering every detail of every show, so be sure to keep a close eye on LPLive! Mark, also known as LPLive Admin Hahninator, will be traveling to the first few shows of the tour and livetweeting the setlists - we'll keep you covered on that, too! After Orlando, the band heads to Nashville, Tennessee for the first time since 2008, then to Indianapolis, Indiana for the first time since 2003. Ah, okay.

Is it even possible to play War in Standard? Don't you need a D Powerchord? In before Brad's not even playing the new song in the picture, lol. I feel like War will be the new VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY). I wonder if they'll mash shit up again with a short song like that.
-
Mayhem in recent years has definitely been veering towards heavier rock and post-hardcore. Last year was Avenged Sevenfold, the year before was Rob Zombie. If those guys can headline, I don't see why LP can't. Playing stuff like BID and COG might not sit well, though.
-
Keep in mind, LP's playing a lot of metal festivals this year already. Rock On The Range, Loudwire, Summerfest. Mayhem isn't too much of a stretch.
-
Added rumor for Mayhem Festival.
-
I believe it was the Rock am Ring interview.
-
Sao Paulo 2012 was one of those cases where it kinda worked with the scenario. You can hear at the end of With You before SIB starts that random WY samples play and the delay starts for Brad's guitar. A better example for a false start would be this:
-
False Start indicates that the intro was messed up and stopped, then restarted.
-
He's speaking in relative terms. In LP standards, ALITS is very much Heavy Metal, hell, even without LP's standards it's still pretty fucking heavy.
-
I'm really loving the mix of live performances and behind the scenes footage lately. They've been nailing the LPTVs.
-
Is that even a applicable argument? There are clearly guitars on VICTIMIZED and defined drums on IBG. Just because they aren't the strongest doesn't mean you can say they're not there. If anything you should complain about the strings on IBG rather than the drums. Those really needed to be brought to the forefront.
-
He's complaining for the sake of complaining.
-
Gotta catch 'em all!
-
Ha, I see what you did there. I do covers, just click the thing in my signature

I think the recording of this album isholding up LP8
