2015.1.20 - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
RogueSoul replied to RogueSoul's topic in Previous Show Discussion
Preshow post got rekt. That's really unfortunate, but I can't say I didn't see this coming. That's FOUR winter tours in a row where they've had to cancel. -
The Hunting Party Tour has only just begun, but it's already off to an incredible start! Linkin Park, Rise Against and Of Mice & Men will perform the fourth show of the tour at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 20, 2015. This will be the first time Linkin Park has performed in Pittsburg since December 2003. Despite not performing in the city for over a decade, this will be the band's fifth performance there! The band's first performance there dates back all the way to one of their first shows as Linkin Park (fresh off of renaming themselves from Hybrid Theory) on Union Underground's 'An Education In Rebellion' Tour in July 2000. We don't know much about what happened at the show - if you were there and happen to remember a few details, be sure to tell us! The band returned later in the year in November on P.O.D.'s 'King Of The Game' Tour - another show we don't know too much about. Again, if you know a few details, be sure to send us a shout! The band returned in February 2001, and we DO know a few things about this show! In fact, a video source exists from this show, though it's not currently available on the forums (perhaps a good LPL samaritan could help change that?). However, you can find an audio download of it here, in The MP3 Collection. The band performed many songs from Hybrid Theory including 'Pushing Me Away' and 'Crawling', as well as older songs found on the Hybrid Theory EP including 'High Voltage' (the Mike Shinoda Remix) and 'And One'. During 'One Step Closer', Chester invited a few fans up to jam! The most recent show was in December 2003, at The X's Kick Ass X-Mas Show. At the time, there was major snowfall in the Northeast United States that almost prevented some of the bands from performing! Luckily for us, there's not much snowfall here in the Northeast (we could use some snow here in New Jersey, though), so that eliminates the chances of a weather-related cancellation. Hopefully the band can keep up their good record in Pittsburgh! Last night's show in Indianapolis, Indiana was something else! Unfortunately, Chester had broken his ankle at some point during the day (apparently from dodging a guy at the gym trying to punch him in his privates!), which preventing him from moving onstage. That didn't stop him from putting on an incredible show! This actually isn't the first time that he performed a show with a broken bone - midshow on the second night of Melbourne 2007, he broke his wrist whilst jumping during 'Papercut'. He performed the rest of the show fine, and continued for the rest of the tour. Back to the present - the show in Indianapolis was full of guests! Aaron Pauley, Of Mice & Men's bassist came out to sing during the 'Iridescent' portion of the Ballad Medley, Austin Carlile, Of Mice & Men's vocalist, screamed during 'Faint', and Tim McIlrath, Rise Against's vocalist sang during 'Bleed It Out'! As the tour goes on, we hope to see these collaborations happen more often! There's even talks of Jay-Z appearing during the band's set next Sunday in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center... he was there only three days ago! Time will tell what happens. The band performed Set A, so it's likely they will perform Set B in Pittsburgh. Check out this performance of 'A Place For My Head' in Indianapolis. Chester talks during the encore break about how Linkin Park fans are the best in the world! Props to him for going through the entire show with his broken ankle! Of course, The Hunting Party Tour wouldn't be complete without Of Mice & Men and Rise Against! Of Mice & Men performed a powerful set, opening with 'Feels Like Forever' off of their newest album, Restoring Force. They continued to smash out more songs from the album including 'Bones Exposed' and 'Another You'. They also performed some singles like 'Would You Still Be There' and 'Identity Disorder' into getting into an older song, 'The Depths'. The concluded their show with 'You're Not Alone' from the new album. The deluxe version of their newest album will be released on February 24, 2015, titled Restoring Force: Full Circle. Rise Against performed another great set, opening with 'Ready To Fall' and 'Give It All'. They performed more older tracks like 'Re-Eductation (Through Labor)' and 'The Good Left Undone' before getting into newer tracks like 'Tragedy + Time' and 'I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore' from their new album, The Black Market. The smashed out the acoustic balled 'Swing Life Away' before closing with 'Savior'. Didn't get a chance to see Linkin Park this time around? Don't fret! Let's talk tour rumors - everywhere from South America to Asia is in question! In North America, Linkin Park is currently rumored to headline the Mayhem Festival this summer, a travelling festival akin to Warped Tour. More spring and summer festivals are also possibilities. South America is also in question, with Rock In Rio Brazil and a headline show in Sao Paulo being possibilities in September. Asia and Australia are also being considered - according to some sources, the band is looking to tour both continents at the same time, similar to what they did in 2003. Nothing's been confirmed for Australia, but a show in India is currently in the works, as well as a potential date on October 3 in Chongqing City, China. Lastly - Europe. The band is rumored to be performing at the Rock'n'Heim festival, as well as the Reading and Leeds Festival in England. Glastonbury is another possibility. For a full outline of their rumored touring schedule, as well as detailed explanations to them, check out The Hunting Party Tour: Rumors + Official thread. Who's excited for the show? If you're going, RSVP in this thread - LPL Members abrandnewname and ATylerInTheSand (ATITS) will be there! Perhaps an LPLive meetup could take place! Be sure to stop by the Music For Relief booth and donate a dollar or two to help disaster relief and make a move against climate change! As mentioned before, the band will likely perform Set B at this show to stay consistent with the setlist rotation. After this show, The Hunting Party Tour heads to upstate New York in Albany, then takes a day break before a three-day trek to Atlantic City, Providence, and Brooklyn. For updates on the show, check back here or follow us on Twitter! ...everything from ATS has been performed at this point. The truly sad thing about this is that they've actually rehearsed ALL of the tracks on the album (according to the Rock am Ring interview). On multiple occasions they've said they'd love to add songs like KTTK and ALITS into the setlist, but instead they drop more? I think what they're going for with their setlists is what songs the crowd reacts too. That's why the Ballad Medley is still in there - all the casuals hear the beginning vocals of LOATR and go insane. They put up their phones and it's a nice experience. It would have been long gone if that didn't happen. I guess they felt no one reacted to Rebellion or UIG and replaced them with songs people actually DO respond to (FTI and APFMH). -
This looks really awesome! Can't wait to see the finished project!

Other Bands Paragraph, est. Carnivores! I still attempt to sneak 30STM in there sometimes just to piss everyone off Since Set A is a bit shorter in length than Set B turns out to be, I hope they add Rebellion or UIG in there. Make the tour slightly more THP-ish. -
Well you can't necessarily say innovation is adding new songs to the setlist. This setlist in itself if very innovative if you ask me; it combines every period of the band's history into a flowing hour and a half long experience. It has the band performing spotlighted solos for the first time (Joe, Mike, arguably Rob even though he did it prior to THP too). Sure, the setlist is very questionable considering the amount of singles and popular songs, but at the end of the day it's an interesting set at the very least.

The Hunting Party Tour has opened up with an explosion! Linkin Park, Rise Against, and Of Mice & Men will be taking the next stop of the tour to Indianapolis, Indiana at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. This will be the band's first performance in Indianapolis since December 2003 - over a decade since their last performance there! Prior to this show, the band has performed in Indianapolis twice. The first time was way back in 2001, where the band performed on the Family Values Tour with Stone Temple Pilots, Staind, Static-X, Deadsy, and Spike 1000. At this show, Chester (ironically) came out during Stone Temple Pilots' set to perform 'Dead & Bloated' with them. Funny, considering that Chester is now the frontman of Stone Temple Pilots! The band's most recent performance was in December of 2003, where they performed at the X-103's Not So Silent Night with Ill Niño and Puddle Of Mudd. While we don't know for sure what the setlist is, we do have reports of members of Puddle Of Mudd joining the band onstage for 'One Step Closer', which likely closed the show! Will the band's first performance in Indianapolis in 11 years there be one for the record books? The previous show in Nashville, Tennessee made the hype surrounding the tour evermore greater! The band debuted the new version of Set B (now Set B_V8), which featured 'From The Inside' and, everyone's favorite, 'A Place For My Head'. However, 'With You', 'Rebellion', 'Somewhere I Belong', and 'Until It's Gone' were all dropped. There are both negatives and positives to this: positive; two of the biggest jams in the band's history are back in the set. Negative; two songs from 'The Hunting Party' have been dropped, meaning only three remain in the set ('Guilty All The Same', 'Wastelands', and 'Final Masquerade'). Would you rather see more old songs come back, or have more new songs reintroduced into the setlists? Over his solo medley, Mike rapped the hybrid verse of 'Remember The Name' by Fort Minor. The band still has a bunch of songs they could pull out from under their sleeves: from the Carnivores rehearsals, they have 'A Light That Never Comes', 'Wretches and Kings', and 'Breaking The Habit', as well as the entirety of both Hybrid Theory and The Hunting Party. For a full list of songs the band rehearsed but didn't play, check out this thread! To stay consistent with their setlist rotation, Indianapolis will likely see the band perform the new Set A. Check out the powerful performance of 'From The Inside' from the tour's debut in Orlando, Florida a few days ago, being performed for the first time in 2 years. Among others, this track was definitely a song that fans wanted back in the sets. What songs do you want to hear the band perform live? As great as their sets may be, The Hunting Party Tour wouldn't be complete without Of Mice & Men and Rise Against! Of Mice & Men performed a powerful set, consisting of an opening featuring 'Feels Like Forever', 'Bones Exposed', and 'Would You Still Be There' off of their newest effort, Restoring Force. The band continued to smash out huge tracks, including 'The Depths' from 2012's The Flood. The band closed out their setlist with their single, 'You're Not Alone'. The deluxe version of their new album, entitled Restoring Force: Full Circle. Rise Against performed another great set, opening with 'Ready To Fall' and 'Give It All'. They continued to bring the jams by incorporating 'Re-Education (Through Labor)' and 'The Good Left Undone'. They also brought out new songs from their new album The Black Market: 'Tragedy + Time' and 'I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore'. The band played some of their biggest tracks, 'Prayer Of The Refugee' being one of them. The band closed out with 'Satellite' and 'Savior'. Who's excited to see them perform on the tour? Who's going to the show? If you are, RSVP in this thread and meet up with CASTLEOFSASS (Nick), who's looking pretty lonely as of now. Serves you right, ya' little shit. As mentioned before, Set A will likely be performed at this show. After Indianapolis, the band takes a day break before performing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Albany, New York. For updates on the show, follow us on Twitter or check back on the thread! He thanked the fans during the encore break, stating that he would never let a broken ankle stop him from playing a show. - Aaron Pauley from Of Mice & Men joined the band for the 'Iridescent' portion of the Ballad Medley. - Mike's solo portion of the show featured a hybrid verse of 'Wretches And Kings', the chorus of 'Remember The Name' (by Fort Minor), and a hybrid verse of 'Remember The Name'. - Austin Carlile from Of Mice & Men joined the band for 'Faint' - Tim McIlrath from Rise Against joined the band for 'Bleed It Out'. During the bridge, the band sang a refrain from 'The Catalyst'. Check out the rest of Linkin Park's 2015 touring schedule here.

Set B: Show page and main post updated w/ setlist and notes.
-
New setlist tonight.
-
It's a Db powerchord, so it could be any of these already in the set: From The Inside One Step Closer Papercut Faint I think it's FTI because you can kinda hear the background sound in there. Not new since no THP has Drop Db tuning.
-
Is that a soundcheck/rehearsal? Definitely from Joe's booth.

I wonder if we'll ever get more out of this. Why would they tease us with 15 seconds of one song only to tell us they performed their first acoustic set? -

This came out of nowhere, lol. I wonder what else they played. Doesn't look like the Ballad Medley since Brad's primed to play the guitar right there. -
Mark tweets from his personal account, I tweet from the LPLive account. That's how it always goes

Roughly the same amount of time, I think they ended about 6 minutes short of 11.

The Hunting Party Tour has only just begun, but it's already going strong! Linkin Park, Rise Against, and Of Mice & Men will be taking the stage will be bringing the second show of the 2015 Winter North American Tour to the stage at the Bridgestone Arena, in Nashville, Tennessee on January 17, 2015. This show will mark Linkin Park's 4th performance in Nashville, and their first since February 2008 - almost seven years! The first show the band performed in Nashville was all the way back in October 2000. While we don't know the setlist or show notes for the song, we do know this interesting piece of information - the day before the show, the band spent their time recording 'My December' for inclusion on the KROQ compilation album. The band returned in 2004 on the Meteora touring cycle after rescheduling the show to a day after it's original date, where they performed new Meteora songs including 'From The Inside' and 'Numb'. For an unknown reason, 'P5hng Me A*wy' from Reanimation was dropped from this set. The band's most recent performance took place in February of 2008, where they played a huge setlist consisting of two encores, Minutes To Midnight songs including 'Hands Held High' and 'Valentine's Day', as well as older fan favorites including 'My December' and 'A Place For My Head' (the latter of which reappeared in a setlist last night!). What will be added to the Linkin Park History Book for Nashville? Last night's show in Orlando was definitely an eye opener. The band debuted a new version of Set A (Set A_V7), which replaced 'Points Of Authority' with 'From The Inside' (which was performed for the first time since 2012), dropped 'Until It's Gone', 'Lost In The Echo', and 'Rebellion', and added 'A Place For My Head' with a new guitar solo intro to open the encore. 'A Place For My Head' and 'From The Inside' have been two of the most requested songs for the band to perform on The Hunting Party Tour amongst fans, so these additions are definitely welcome! Other changes include 'Waiting For The End' letting go of it's Wall Of Noise Outro after two years and Mike rapping his verse from the Nick Catchdubs Remix of 'Skin To Bone' from Recharged over his solo medley. All these changes beg the question - what will happen to Set B? Will a Set C be added? The first question is most likely to be answered either at this show or the next in Indianapolis, depending on how the band decides to rotate setlists this tour. While there's always a possibility, it looks like there will not be a Set C added to this tour. Though, you never know! What songs do you want to see added to Set B? A new song from The Hunting Party? Or, perhaps, an older song such as 'By Myself' or 'Forgotten'? Funny enough, 'From The Inside' was not among the handful of songs the band rehearsed for the Carnivores Tour but scrapped, which included 'Breaking The Habit' and 'No More Sorrow'. Perhaps one of those songs will find its way into the setlist! The show also ended a few minutes early - about 6 minutes short of 11:00. It looks like the band will be experimenting with this set so that it better suits the time they have to perform. Check out this performance of 'A Place For My Head' last night in Orlando. This song was probably the most requested classic to return to the setlists, and the band complied! Will the song make its way into Set B as well? Linkin Park isn't the only one bringing the jams! Of Mice & Men and Rise Against really pumped up the crowd. Of Mice & Men brought back the jams from their previous tour with the band back in Europe in 2014 - their setlist included their new single, 'Identity Disorder' as well as older tracks such as 'The Depths'. The deluxe version of their new album, Restoring Force is due out on January 30, 2015, entitled Restoring Force: Full Circle. Rise Against performed their first show opening for Linkin Park in Orlando, playing a truly jam-packed setlist. Opening with 'Ready To Fall', the band started their show off huge. Going into more huge tracks like 'Give It All', 'Re-Education (Through Labor)', and 'Chamber The Cartridge', the band didn't give up any energy! The band performed two new songs from their latest album, The Black Market: 'I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore' and 'Tragedy + Time'. They slowed down their set ever so slightly with the acoustic ballad 'Swing Life Away', and included some of the band's biggest singles like 'Prayer Of The Refugee'. The band concluded their show with 'Satellites' and their biggest song to date, 'Savior'. Who's excited to see both bands live on this tour?! In other news, here at LPLive, we recently released the score for the band's game, "Linkin Park Recharged: Wastelands" which includes previously unheard tracks like 'Fallout' (different from the song found on A Thousand Suns) and 'Human'. You can go grab a download of it here. Tour rumors have been popping up for awhile regarding the rest of the touring cycle. Current rumors consist of North America (Mayhem Festival in the Summer), Europe (Rock'N'Heim, Glastonbury), Asia (India, China), and South America (Rock in Rio Brazil, Sao Paulo). Be sure to check out this thread to see all the rumors that currently exist! Who's excited?! If you're attending the show, be sure to RSVP in this thread to potentially meet up with some other LPLive members, including Mohnjorrow and LPFreak64! Mark, also known as Hahninator, will be manning the Music For Relief booth at the show, so be sure to stop by and say hello before you jam! After this show, the band heads to Indianapolis, Indiana before taking a day's break and performing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. For updates on the show, follow us @LPLive, as we'll be livetweeting the setlist, or check back at this thread during the show. It's like you EXPECT a band who's famous WORLDWIDE due to specific songs to drop those songs to satisfy a MUCH smaller demographic...
