Hey, guys. Given how much Mike has been changing up setlist recently, we've decided that we're going to start listing "Tour Debut" as a song note on the show pages. Here's a guidelines as to what qualifies as a tour debut and what doesn't: This is the first time on that tour the song was played. If there are rotating setlists (i.e. Set A, Set B, etc.), then the song is a tour debut IF it was not performed in any of the other sets. If performed on different leg of the tour that took place a significant amount of time after the initial leg ended, the first performance of the song on that leg is a tour debut. If the song is performed for the first time on an album cycle, then it is considered a tour debut Songs performed for the first time in a new setlist do NOT count as a tour debut. A song performed at a soundcheck for the first time is NOT considered a tour debut. We're slowly working out the specific distinctions of what counts and what doesn't (if you have any ideas, feel free to let us know), so we'll probably be updating this quite a bit. We're currently just adding these notes to the Mike Shinoda pages ('Petrified,' 'High Road,' 'Cigarettes,' etc.), but we will eventually go back and add them into the Linkin Park setlists.

North Carolina, it's time for round 2. Mike's back with the Post Traumatic Tour / Monster Energy Outbreak Tour for a second show in the state, this time in Raleigh at The Ritz! Mike's last few shows have certainly been unpredictable, to say the least. Mike's last show was in Atlanta, Georgia - the home turf of Hahninator. Perhaps as a result of that, Mike really brought his all with one of the best setlists of the tour yet! Things kicked off fairly normally with a run of 'Petrified,' 'Make It Up As I Go,' and 'When They Come For Me,' but things didn't stay that way for long. Mike brought back 'Cigarettes' for the first time since Wien, Austria last month, performing the song for the very first time with the full band. Later in the set, Mike rapped 'Hands Held High' over 'Wisdom, Justice, and Love' for the second time on tour (the first since the New York City, New York show). Things continued pretty normally from there on out, opening the encore with 'Robot Boy' and 'World's On Fire.' 'Roads Untraveled' was performed in the encore for the first time ever, as well. Watch Mike perform 'Cigarettes' for the first time with a full band live in Atlanta, Georgia! 'Cigarettes' is a must-see on this tour - let's hope it starts showing up more. Raleigh has always been a great place for a Linkin Park concert. The very first time Mike was there was in 2000, where Linkin Park performed at the same venue as Mike is playing at while on P.O.D.'s 'Kings Of The Game' Tour. The band didn't make it to Raleigh on the Meteora touring cycle, Linkin Park did return on the Minutes To Midnight cycle, on Projekt Revolution 2007 - this show was the only show ever where Mike rapped 'Second To None' over 'Points Of Authority.' Linkin Park returned the next year on Projekt Revolution 2008, where Chris Cornell joined them for 'Crawling.' That was the last time Mike was in Raleigh - almost ten years ago! Tonight's crowd will certainly make up for that. Over these last few shows, we thought we figured out a pattern. We thought that there's this rotation of encore openers and show openers, like if 'Welcome' opens then another song would open the encore, or if 'About You,' 'Over Again,' and 'Papercut' opened the encore then some other song wouldn't be played. Mike has literally thrown any semblance of what we thought we knew and threw it out the window. We're up to like 3 different show intros ('Petrified,' 'Welcome,' and 'Robot Boy' and 'World's On Fire'), even more encore openers (those three plus the 'About You,' 'Over Again,' and 'Papercut' mashup, as well as 'Wisdom, Justice, and Love' and 'Iridescent'), and absolutely no pattern. The setlist is whatever Mike feels like playing while he's onstage - sometimes even the paper setlist is irrelevant. All the opening songs can be mid-set now, so there's literally no telling what is played and what isn't. What can we expect in Raleigh? Who knows. Mike has said that 'Waiting For Tomorrow' will be played on the tour sometime, but he hasn't taken it to soundcheck yet. Then again, 'Cigarettes' was performed in Atlanta without any - known - rehearsal. Anything's possible! It's been awhile since Mike's been in Raleigh - watch Linkin Park perform 'Bleed It Out' in Raleigh on Projekt Revolution 2008 with the Street Drum Corps. Who's going to the show? This is Mark's last show of the tour, so if you wanna meet up with him, plan below! After this show, Mike will hit up New Orleans for the first time since 2003, and it sounds like the best opportunity for him to bring back 'The Little Things Give You Away' in some form. Let's make it happen, people - it's been years since we've heard that one performed, and what better opportunity than this? After that, Mike continues the tour into Texas and then Nevada, inching closer to the west coast. We're not even close to being halfway done with this tour, and we can confidently say it's not losing steam whatsoever. Mike Shinoda is taking the next stop of the Outbreak Tour leg of the Post Traumatic Tour to Florida, the first stop in the state being in Tampa! Mike's most recent show was one of the most unpredictable we've had since the beginning of the tour. Mike changed up just about everything about the set in Charlotte, from the opener to the encore. After opening the encore with this combo for the last few shows, Mike moved 'Robot Boy' and 'World's On Fire' down to open the show, making this - technically - the first show where the first full song performed is from Post Traumatic. This brings up to four possible intro songs now: 'Welcome,' 'Petrified,' 'Remember The Name,' and now this combo. Speaking of 'Petrified,' it and 'When They Come For Me' were both moved way down into the set near the end, the furthest down they've bene yet and the first time 'Petrified' was in the set without opening the show or encore. The 'About You,' 'Over Again,' and 'Papercut' combo opened the encore for the first time as well. As far as rarities go, 'Kenji' and 'Watching As I Fall' were both performed as the winners of Mike's poll, the latter of which getting its tour debut after being absent from sets since Moscow last month. 'It's Goin' Down' was also added to the set, getting its tour debut after being performed only the second time on the tour, the first being in Vienna. There's literally no telling how the show changes from night to night anymore. Anything is possible. Watch Mike perform 'Watching As I Fall' in Tampa for the first time in a month! Only a few songs from Post Traumatic are left to make a full debut live: 'Nothing Makes Sense Anymore,' 'Brooding,' 'Promises I Can't Keep,' and 'Lift Off.' It's been awhile since Mike was last in Tampa. Linkin Park's most recent show there was in 2014 on the Carnivores Tour with Thirty Seconds To Mars, where Mike rapped a demo verse of 'Wastelands' for the first and only time ever on the transition to 'Runaway.' The band has performed shows in Tampa since the Hybrid Theory days, their very first show being on the Family Values Tour in 2001. The band performed their twice in 2003 while touring for Meteora, the first being on the winter Meteora North American Tour and the other being on Projekt Revolution 2004. The band returned with a tumultuous show in 2007 on the Minutes To Midnight cycle, where a huge thunderstorm caused an evacuation. Chester also felt very sick at the show. The band returned again the next year on Projekt Revolution 2008 and had a much easier time, performing 'Crawling' with Chris Cornell. They returned once again in January 2011 on the A Thousand Suns Tour, which was the first time 'Bleed It Out' featured both parts of 'Burning In The Skies' and 'A Place For My Head.' Tampa always delivers an awesome show, and this one should be no different. We have no idea what to expect from the sets at this point, but Mike is running a setlist poll! There's a couple of rotations in the set on top of songs shifting up and down throughout the set; the one Mike's polling for in Tampa is the hip-hop rotation. 'I.O.U.,' 'Until It Breaks,' and the Fort Minor song 'In Stereo' are all in this rotation: Mike's poll includes an option for "all of the above," so you may expect all three to be performed. and One is a Post Traumatic song rotation, which currently seems to be 'Hold It Together' and 'Watching As I Fall.' Will the latter return, or will this performance be a one-off? There's two piano songs being rotated: 'Heavy' and 'Burn It Down,' so if Mike asks you to pick Song #1 or Song #2, be ready. All the openers are being rotated as well, apparently with new ones being added on the fly as well. As far as soundcheck stuff goes, everything's been checked off the list. 'Sharp Edges' was played once so far, as well as 'It's Goin' Down.' They may even soundcheck some new stuff which may make an appearance in Tampa or beyond... who knows! We'll have to wait and find out. Watch Linkin Park perform 'Runaway' and 'Wastelands' in Tampa in 2014. This was the only time Mike ever rapped the demo verse of 'Wastelands' over the 'Runaway' transition! Anyone going to the show? Mark - a.k.a. After this show, Mike heads to Orlando before making stops in Atlanta, Raleigh, and New Orleans - and the latter of which would make the perfect place for 'The Little Things Give You Away' to make an appearance. The long-awaited collaboration with Martin Garrix and Pierce Fulton - 'Waiting For Tomorrow' - gets its official release tomorrow as well, perhaps we can expect it to pop up in the set somehow soon as well! What a start to the tour! The Post Traumatic Tour / Outbreak Tour is continuing down the east coast, the next stop being at Charlotte, North Carolina at the second Fillmore of the tour (with two left to go!). Mike's last show was in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and even five shows into the tour there are still surprises coming. The biggest surprise of the night: Matt getting his own solo spot of the set with the tour debut of 'Sharp Edges' - the first time the song has been performed since the Hollywood Bowl show almost a year ago! In addition to 'Sharp Edges,' 'Until It Breaks' also made its tour debut, being played for the first time since Wien, Austria last month. Mike kept rotating the set around, moving the 'Waiting For The End' and 'Where'd You Go' mashup being moved further down into the set, while the studio version of 'Wisdom, Justice, and Love' returned after being mashed up with 'Hands Held High' in New York City a few nights ago. Every show has its surprises, and this one shouldn't be any different! Watch Matt perform 'Sharp Edges' for the first time on tour in Strousburg, Pennsylvania. He's been absolutely killing it lately, and he definitely deserves this solo spot in the set. It's been a minute since Mike was last in Charlotte. The last time was during The Hunting Party Tour in 2014, towards the start of the Carnivores Tour with Thirty Seconds To Mars. Mike's very first stop there was in 2001 on the Ozzfest. The band returned later that year on the Family Values Tour, as well. The band returned towards the end of the Meteora touring cycle during the eclectic Projekt Revolution 2004 - 'Figure.09' from this show was actually released officially on LPU 4! Linkin Park returned to Charlotte on Projekt Revolution 2007 during the Minutes To Midnight World Tour, performing fresh songs like 'What I've Done' and 'No More Sorrow.' The band returned again the next year on Projekt Revolution 2008, a show where Chris Cornell came out to sing 'Crawling' with the band. As for what to expect from this show: as usual, we couldn't tell ya. We don't know - but we are beginning to see a pattern. Fans who purchased the VIP packages have been treated to watching the band soundcheck before the show, and it seems songs practiced at soundcheck make it into the set two or three days later. The perfect examples are 'Until It Breaks' and 'Sharp Edges,' both of which were rehearsed in New York City but not played until Stroudsburg. In Stroudsburg, Mike soundchecked 'It's Goin' Down' three times but the song didn't end up getting played - perhaps it will in Charlotte! Mike is also holding two setlist polls online asking fans what they want to hear: one poll is a Post Traumatic-based one, with 'World's On Fire,' 'Hold It Together,' and 'Watching As I Fall.' The first two have been played for most of the tour so far, while 'Watching As I Fall' has been absent from the sets since Moscow, which was at the start of September, so that has our vote (and luckily, it's winning). The other poll is Fort Minor based, the voting between 'Kenji,' 'In Stereo,' and 'High Road.' 'High Road' is the only song yet to be played on the North American Tour (being replaced by 'Kenji' in Montreal), but all three options are great. Currently, 'Kenji' is in the lead. You can expect to hear those songs performed at Charlotte! Watch Linkin Park perform 'Guilty All The Same' in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2014. The band's always greeted to a strong crowd there, and this show should be no different. Who's going to the show? This is the first of five shows for LPLive founder Hahninator, so keep on the lookout for him! After this show, Mike continues down the east coast with stops in Florida, Georgia, and another stop in North Carolina (Raleigh) before hitting the deep south. An rare show in New Orleans is coming up as well, which would be the perfect place for 'The Little Things Give You Away' to be performed again! Mike's not above playing songs for certain locations - he first played 'Wisdom, Justice, and Love' and 'Iridescent' as piano versions in Moscow to commemorate Linkin Park's 2011 Red Square show there. It'd be the perfect opportunity for this song to get back in rotation, or even if it's a one-off event. Let's see it happen! What a goddamn lineup this is

Wow. It's been a wild couple of days. Three shows into the Post Traumatic Tour / Monster Energy Outbreak Tour and we're already shocked at the setlists! Mike makes his fourth stop on the tour tonight in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at The Fillmore! Before we talk about anything else, let's talk about last night in New York City - because I was there and still can't believe everything that happened. Mike and company performed a powerful set, surprising from start to finish with lots of energy and excitement. Though the setlist featured many of the same tracks he played at his NYC show earlier this year, it was still a fresh new experience with how much the show has changed since then. With a triple whammy opener of 'Petrified,' 'I.O.U.,' and 'In Stereo,' differing entirely from the opening a the show in June, it was bound to be an incredible show. And that it was. Of the many things that happened in New York, we got some live debuts. First was very first appearance of 'Lift Off,' of which Mike rapped the first verse during the extended bridge of 'Sorry For Now' after Dan's drum solo. Later on in the show came a huge surprise in the live debut of 'World's On Fire,' which was played with an extended jam bridge featuring a drum solo and Mike playing around with the synth solo of 'Robot Boy' - which also got its tour debut as the encore opener at the show! Additionally, 'Wisdom, Justice, and Love' was moved back down into the middle of the set rather than the encore opener, Mike surprising us by mashing it up with 'Hands Held High,' because Shinoda's mind knows no rules when it comes to mash ups. 'Iridescent' was performed right after. In addition, a fan named David came onstage during 'Over Again' and sang with Mike throughout the show! I filmed the entire show from the front row - if you want to check out anything from the show, check out the playlist. Philadelphia has always been a great place for Linkin Park to play a show. One of the most popular shows in Philadelphia was 2011's A Thousand Suns World Tour stop, where an awesome video recording perfectly shows off the band's awesome V-shaped stage. Plus, epic performances of songs like 'When They Come For Me' and 'From The Inside' came from this show! The band's first stops in Philly in the year 2000 were some of the earliest they ever made on tour; the fourth stop of the band's first tour opening for the Union Underground was in Philadelphia, who must've put on such a good vibe that the band returned later the same year in December. The band returned early in 2001 for their very first headlining tour: the Street Soldiers Tour. They also returned later that same year, this time on the Family Values Tour. The band made one final Hybrid Theory era stop in Philly on Projekt Revolution 2002, an awesome show that featured DJ Z-Trip on 'It's Goin' Down,' as well as a cover of the Deftones' 'My Own Summer (Shove It).' The band made two stops in Philly on the Meteora World Tour, hitting it in 2003 on Metallica's 'Summer Sanitarium' Tour, and then once more the next year in 2004, at the start of their North American Tour. Philadelphia also hosted the band's famous 2005 Live 8 performance with Jay-Z, which is by far the biggest crowd the band has ever performed to: between 700,000 and 1,000,000 people were there. See Linkin Park perform an awesome show in Philadelphia in 2011. Highlights of the show include the awesome production as well as a particularly great performance of 'From The Inside.' As for tonight, who knows. There's literally no point in guessing anymore because Mike is doing whatever the hell he wants - and we love it! There's nothing like going into a show unsure of what's coming. Mike's winding down the list of songs to play on tour, knocking one off the Post Traumatic list (still missing 5: 'Nothing Makes Sense Anymore,' 'Brooding,' 'Promises I Can't Keep,' 'a full 'Lift Off,' and 'Can't Hear You Now). Fans still really want to hear songs like 'No Roads Left' and 'High Voltage,' and who knows! They could be next! Even the soundcheck in New York showed us some interesting stuff: the first known full band version of 'Dedicated' was partially played, as well as 'Sharp Edges' with Matt on vocals and an unknown song that we can't quite identify. Will we see these songs performed live in the set today? Who knows! We've seen that it only takes literally one day of practice at soundcheck to perform something new, as we saw today with 'World's On Fire.' What will be next? Who's going to this show? Time to rock, America. Mike's bringing the Post Traumatic Tour to the United States! His first show of his U.S. run is happening tomorrow, October 13, in New York City, New York at The Rooftop at Pier 17! Last night in Toronto, Ontario was certainly one to remember. Mike dished out loads of surprises on only the second stop of the tour - and there were many surprises to look out for. Starting small, some notable structural changes led to 'Make It Up As I Go' and 'Good Goodbye/Bleed It Out' to be performed in the encore for the first time, and the first time since Mike's show at Identity LA that the mashup was played second-to-last. 'Petrified' was shortened a bit - possibly due to a technical difficulty - and went straight into 'I.O.U.,' which apparently was performed acapella through the first verse (still looking for a confirmation on that). The surprises started strong and early, with 'In Stereo' being performed for the second time on tour, and for the first time with Dan and Matt playing along. Next came something fans have been wanting ever since the tour started: 'High Voltage.' Mike performed the first verse and chorus of the song during the extended bridge of 'Sorry For Now' after Dan's drum solo - seems like 'Sorry For Now' is going to become to new 'Bleed It Out!' Mike continued with the first full performance of the piano version of 'Burn It Down' on the tour, which was followed by a full piano version of 'Numb.' The main set ended with the 'About You,' 'Over Again,' and 'Papercut' run for the first time. The encore began with what is undoubtedly the biggest surprise of the night: tour debuts of the studio versions of 'Wisdom, Justice, and Love' and 'Iridescent' - the first time either of those songs have been played like that since Singapore 2011! This isn't Mike's first run around New York - hell, it isn't even his first Post Traumatic show in New York. Earlier this year, Mike played his very first full headlining show at New York's Gramercy Theater for a Post Traumatic Release Show - myself and Mark were both there, and it was one hell of a show! The surprise live debut of 'I.O.U.,' an intimate crowd, and huge energy all led to a fantastic show. Linkin Park and Mike have performed in New York almost too many times to count, so I'll spare you a textbook chapter of notes. But, here's some highlights from NYC history: unforgettable shows in Madison Square Garden in both 2008 (which featured a surprise appearance from JAY-Z) and 2011 (which was actually my first concert ever!) and the iconic Webster Hall show from 2007 (which featured the live debut of 'Bleed It Out') are only some of the epic moments that have gone down in the city. What can we expect from this show? As we've learned from the first two shows: expect the unexpected. We'll probably see a bit of a mix-up of the setlist he played back in June, but there'll surely be more than just a few substitutions. It's anyone's best bet at this point what Mike will play at these upcoming shows, and nothing's off the table. Could we see the tour debut of the full version of 'High Voltage' soon? Perhaps a live debut from a song off of Post Traumatic like 'Promises I Can't Keep' or 'Can't Hear You Now?' Literally nothing is off the table here. We'll just have to wait and see what happens! So, I don't know what's going on. No 'High Voltage.' No 'Cigarettes'/'Heavy' choice. What do I believe anymore?

And we're off! After kicking off the North American leg of the Post Traumatic Tour / the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour last night, Mike Shinoda and co. are pushing ahead on their tour, tonight played at the second and final stop in Canada in Toronto! The tour started off yesterday in Montreal, Quebec with an awesome show. Full of fresh Post Traumatic songs like 'Hold It Together' and 'Ghosts' (NOT 'Can't Hear You Now,' though - sorry about that, there was a false report of it yesterday), while staples like the run of 'About You,' 'Over Again,' and 'Papercut' as well as 'Roads Untraveled.' The set still came with its surprises, even though it was only the first show! Firstly, after a request at the LPU Meet and Greet, Mike rapped a tease of 'High Voltage' over the extended bridge of 'Sorry For Now.' This was the first time a verse from another song has been rapped over the song - typically, it's either just the demo verse or Dan's drum solo. Next, Mike took a crowd vote between 'Cigarettes' and 'Heavy,' which the latter one. From there, Mike played piano versions of 'Heavy,' 'In The End,' and 'Numb.' 'Kenji' was played in place of 'High Road,' which was written on the physical setlist. Not even one show in and Mike is already flipping things up on us! Watch Mike give an emotional speech before diving into powerful performance of 'In The End' with the crowd! It hasn't been too long since Mike was last in Toronto. Just last year, Mike and Chester performed a piano version of 'Heavy' for the very first time while doing press there for One More Light in March. On the opposite side of the spectrum, Mike has been playing shows in Toronto from the very start. A show in Toronto in 2000 was Linkin Park's very first show in Canada, a free show that was held by a local radio station. The band returned in 2001 for the Ozzfest, playing a blistering set that opened with 'With You' and 'Runaway.' The band played a second 2001 show there on the Family Values Tour, where the X-Ecutioners did a pre-song DJ set before 'One Step Closer.' It wasn't until 2003 on the Meteora World Tour that the band returned, playing a show in Toronto towards the start of Metallica's 'Summer Sanitarium' Tour. The band returned again in 2004 during their North American Tour, playing a packed set featuring rarities like 'My December' and 'P5hng Me A*wy.' Linkin Park didn't return to Toronto for a few years as the band members worked on other projects between the Meteora and Minutes To Midnight cycles, but that route ended up bringing Mike right back to Toronto in 2006 with Fort Minor - the only Fort Minor show played in Canada! Linkin Park came back to Toronto in 2007 for Projekt Revolution, the only Canadian date on the tour. In 2008, Linkin Park visited Ontario twice: once at the start of the year in London (not the one in England), and once again later in the summer for the infamous Edgefest, where delays caused Mike and Chester to open the set along with piano versions of 'Breaking The Habit' and 'Pushing Me Away' (this was the only time the piano version of 'Breaking The Habit' was ever played). The band returned in 2011 during the A Thousand Suns World Tour, the last show before the band had to cancel the following 5 due to Chester being sick. Linkin Park didn't make it to Toronto on the Living Things tour, but did return in 2014 on the Carnivores Tour during The Hunting Party cycle. It's been over three years since Mike's last real show in Toronto, and the crowd will definitely deliver! A classic moment in Linkin Park live history: Mike and Chester opening their show at Edgefest 2008 with a piano version of 'Breaking The Habit.' As with any other show on this tour, all we can do is expect the unexpected. We are up to four potential openers now: 'Petrified,' 'Welcome,' 'Remember The Name' (which opened one show in Milan so far), and 'When They Come For Me,' which hasn't been used as an opener yet but was scheduled to at Mike's Leeds performance. Any number of rarities could be played, from 'It's Goin' Down,' 'In Stereo,' 'Until It Breaks,' or perhaps 'Cigarettes' will get its redemption. We're still missing a couple of key songs from Post Traumatic; even though it was a false alarm, people were very excited for 'Can't Hear You Now,' and many people have been requesting 'Promises I Can't Keep.' Plus, after teasing 'High Voltage,' fans will definitely want to hear the full song soon. There are hundreds of possibilities for tonight's set, and we won't know what happens until the show! Who's going to this show? After Toronto, Mike finally hits the United States, starting with shows in New York City and Philadelphia. I'll be at both of those (+ at the meet and greet for New York), so if you'll be there, keep an eye out! From there, Mike keeps heading down the east coast with another stop in Pennsylvania and others in North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. Time to get back in action. After a hugely successful - and fun! - tour throughout Europe and Asia this past summer, Mike Shinoda and co. have been on break for a month to gather their bearings. Now that they've had their break, it's time to get back on the road. Mike Shinoda's Post Traumatic Tour continues on Wednesday, October 10 in Montreal, Quebec - the first show of the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour. Before we get into anything, let's get a little refresher as to what Mike was playing when the last leg of the tour ended. Mike's last leg of the tour was in Europe, ending with shows in Austria and Italy. The Italian show was at the Milano Rocks festival, where Mike opened for Thirty Seconds To Mars. The show featured a shortened set, but it was still packed with surprises, as almost every show on the tour was! Not only did 'Sorry For Now' get its festival set debut and LPL member Peppe Park joined Mike for 'Roads Untraveled' onstage, but the setlist opened with 'Remember The Name' for the first (and only, thus far) time on the tour! The night before in Wien, Austria was probably one of the most surprising nights of the tour, with a massive encore featuring the tour debut of the live version of 'Cigarettes,' 'It's Goin' Down,' and the return of 'Until It Breaks.' Mike also added 'In Stereo' into the set for the first time on the tour. This show also featured the first time 'Welcome' opened a set in quite some time, replacing 'Introduction' and 'Petrified' (which were meant to be played during the encore, but were dropped in favor of all the rarities). Watch Mike and Matt perform 'Cigarettes' in Wien, Austria for the very first time on tour! They rehearsed the song a few days prior at a soundcheck in Sweden. The precedent for adding a song to the set seems to really just be a bit of rehearsal at soundcheck, so we are bound to see a bunch of surprises throughout the tour! In other words, we haven't known what to expect from this tour on a day-to-day basis, and that certainly hasn't changed. Mike, Matt Harris, and Dan Mayo have been deep in rehearsals lately in preparation for the tour, and that could mean more surprises are on the way. Whether or not we see them appear on the first few dates of the tour is yet to be seen, but it certainly wouldn't be a shocker if we saw different songs pop up. Several songs off of Post Traumatic have yet to make their live debut: 'Nothing Makes Sense Anymore,' 'Brooding,' 'Promises I Can't Keep,' 'Lift Off,' 'World's On Fire,' and 'Can't Hear You Now.' Plus, 'Place To Start' has been absent from the setlists for quite awhile. It's likely we see at least ONE live debut on this tour, but the question is: which songs will come first, and which will bite the dust? If you asked us, 'Promises I Can't Keep' is probably the most likely to get its live debut first, and perhaps 'Brooding' will be used as an intro or transition. 'Lift Off' is another possibility, considering this tour coincides with Mike's performance at the Deftones' Dia De Los Deftones festival in November. What do you think? On top of Post Traumatic songs, Mike had been adding random songs from throughout his discography randomly throughout the tour. On the European Tour alone, almost a dozen songs made their tour debuts: piano versions of 'Heavy,' 'Burn It Down,' 'Numb,' 'Wisdom, Justice, and Love,' and 'Iridescent' were all played at some point; 'Cigarettes,' 'It's Goin' Down,' 'Until It Breaks,' and 'In Stereo' all made debuts mid-tour, and Mike even threw in acapellas of 'A Place For My Head' and 'Cigarettes' at some shows. The point is that every show is something special, both in terms of emotion and setlists. You never know what to expect, and that's not likely to be any different on this tour. Awhile back, we conducted a survey across our social media to see what songs fans wanted to hear most, and several tracks have already been played. Big fan requests like 'No Roads Left' and 'High Voltage' have yet to be mentioned, but we know we'd love to see them. What songs do you want to see Mike play on this tour? Mike first started playing piano versions of songs in Köln, Germany, starting with 'Heavy,' 'Burn It Down,' and 'Numb.' Plenty of songs can receive that treatment - what other songs would you like to see Mike tackle in this style? Let's focus in on where the tour is starting, now. The Monster Energy Outbreak Tour kicks off in Montreal, and it's been a minute since Mike was last there. While he and Chester made the trip to Canada last year to do some promo for One More Light, Mike hasn't been in Quebec since 2015, when Linkin Park played in Montebello at the Amnesia Rockfest, the last show to feature his Solo Medley (which was replaced by 'Welcome' at following shows). Mike was last in Montreal the year before on the Carnivores Tour with Thirty Seconds To Mars (funny how that worked out, huh) in 2014. Linkin Park's very first show in Montreal was in 2003, on the Meteora World Tour, during Metallica's 'Summer Sanitarium' Tour, which featured tracks like 'P5hng Me A*wy' and 'Don't Stay.' They returned again in January of 2004, a show that featured the famous fan Sal on guitar during 'Faint.' They returned 4 years later on the Minutes To Midnight North American Tour in 2008, where Mike performed a cover of The Cure's 'Just Like Heaven' for the last time ever, after doing it throughout the winter tours. The band also performed in Quebec last that year at the Festival d'Été de Québec, which featured a performance of the MTM Tour Version of 'Cure For The Itch.' Montreal was the first Canadian stop on the A Thousand Suns North American Tour in 2011, which was the last time until 2014 that the band performed there, as the band skipped the city during the Living Things Tour. Here's a throwback for ya - watch Linkin Park's very first show in Montreal in 2003 on the Meteora World Tour! Who's heading to the show? This will be Mike's longest tour yet, making 23 stops across Canada and the United States. The first two stops are the only shows in Canada, with the next show being in Toronto. Even though the poster puzzle is still going strong, the 'Make It Up As I Go' music video is here! In similar fashion to this whole "pieces of the poster" puzzle Mike's been doing in promotion for the video, the music video is a very artsy one, using the effect of different pieces of paper to create different scenes. What are your thoughts on the video? Mike's on the quest to create a visual component for every song on the album - we're almost at all of them. The last video was for 'Brooding' released last month. Videos for the Post Traumatic EP songs, as well as 'Crossing A Line,' 'Nothing Makes Sense Anymore,' 'Running From My Shadow,' 'About You,' 'Ghosts,' 'Promises I Can't Keep,' and 'Lift Off' have all been released so far - we're up to 12 videos now. Get the candles and the party poppers out, it's LPLive's birthday! 12 years ago, on September 16, 2006, Mark and Jonas - known as Hahninator and AndOne respectively - started the site as a way of accurately documenting Linkin Park's live shows so the trading community could have an accurate source of information. Since then, we've expanded in both size and purpose; we have a huge community of almost 7,000 members, a great team from around the world, and a whole lot of LP news and content to provide. 12's not a big number (though LPLive hits those edgy teen years next year), but every new year that we can do this is a great step. None of us make any money from this, none of us get any special benefits outside the LP world for this. What we get is a connection with you, and to this music. This site has given all of us - team members and site members alike - opportunities with Linkin Park, with other fans, and these shows we love to cover that we like to think other fanbases just don't have. And most of all, this fanbase has proven that time and time again, when someone falls, we'll all pick them back up. Because that's who we are: LP Soldiers. So, on our 12th birthday, from us to you, thank you for everything. We hope you'll stick around for another 12 years to come, and hopefully even more beyond that.
