  1. It's because the song was released on 8-bit Rebellion, a game exclusively for Apple products, and later included as a bonus track for the iTunes version of A Thousand Suns. They had an exclusivity deal for the song. If I recall correctly, it expired a couple of years or so ago, but there hasn't been any reason to re-release A Thousand Suns in other platforms yet. 2020 was the 10th anniversary, but that year was all about HT20. Maybe in 2025...

  4. A new version of Minutes To Midnight is coming to all digital music platforms tomorrow, May 13th, just in time for the album's 15th anniversary! This new deluxe edition includes all 15 tracks from the physical Tour Edition of the album + Across The Line which is listed under the same code and title as the LPU9 version, marking the first release of this version outside of the LPU! Tracklist: Wake Given Up Leave Out All The Rest Bleed It Out Shadow Of The Day What I've Done Hands Held High No More Sorrow Valentine's Day In Between In Pieces The Little Things Give You Away No Roads Left Across The Line Given Up (Third Encore Session) What I've Done (Distorted Remix) When Across The Line was first issued in digital format in 2013 it was missing the synth bass line that's supposed to come in during the first verse at 0:21. Other two songs on the 2013 edition also had differences when compared to the original 2007 versions: Shadow Of The Day and No Roads Left. In 2021, No Roads Left was finally replaced for the original version. Shadow Of The Day was replaced as well, but not for the original version from 2007. Instead, the song features a re-recorded guitar part as explained by Astat: Shadow of the Day: Guitar that enters in the first chorus (absent from the previous "wrong" mix) is a different take, the tone is completely different and there are no sliding noises between the notes like there are on the original CD version. I'm not totally convinced it isn't a VST guitar sim replacing the original track. Other differences seem to be fixed. Haha, wow, this is 100% a re-recorded guitar part, it even plays a wrong note. On the "and the shadow of the day" lines in the choruses, it's supposed to follow the bass and go down to a G instead of going up to a D like it does on every other time through the progression, but it goes up to a D in that spot on this recording. I bet Mike re-recorded this recently because they couldn't find the original guitar track for whatever reason. Across The Line wasn't fixed back then, but it has finally been replaced now. This new edition of the album includes the re-recorded version of Shadow Of The Day and the original version of No Roads Left as well.
  5. I think it's possible someone chose the "buy now" option and actually purchased the tape for $10,000. More photos of the tape are coming soon, so we'll be able to figure out the tracklist discrepancy.

  8. Ripping process in case anyone else is curious about it: "captured on dad's DENON DR-M30HX through a TASCAM US-144mkII to give it the best shot possible but it is a cheap Type I cassette with no Dolby NR" I also added fade in / fade out for the transitions in the video.
  9. Site where the auction will happen is up now. Here's the link and a few more audio clips: https://twitter.com/LPLive/status/1520522313330040833

  13. Brazilian artist Gabriela Gonçalves has released today her new single 'Blessing' which was produced last year by Mike Shinoda as part of his #ShinodaProduceMe initiative. The artwork was created by visual artist MOON HMZ (aka mumu the stan). Listen here: Gabriela was part of Mike's Twitch community and is a big fan of Linkin Park as she explained in an interview to Teoria Geek: Linkin Park has millions of qualities, one of them for sure is the wonderful lyrics that the guys do and that were always so well presented, incredible vocals and well differentiated instrumental for always having different influences and genres in the songs. I have a huge love for this band, mainly because I got to know it through my uncle, whenever I hear “Leave Out All The Rest” the urge to cry is huge. The lyrics, amazing instrumentals, perfect vocals and the diversity of the genres, all this made me want to continue in music and make a living from it, and now it's funny, because if in a few years this question is asked to me again, maybe I can say that one of the guys who is part of this band changed my musical career and that my first song is a composition by me and a great artist that I've always been a big fan. Anyway, saying the importance of Linkin Park's songs is an endless answer for me, there are many reasons and many wonderful things! Explaining how she got to work with Mike, she said: First of all, I'm a big fan of Linkin Park and Red Hot Chili Peppers and at the beginning of the pandemic/quarantine, Mike started with daily lives on his social networks (now he remained only on Twitch), they were called “Coronajams” and we fans with coins we got from watching the lives (shinodabucks), we could order the style of the jam, so I asked for my jam to be the style of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I thanked him for the jam with the coins and then somehow he found my Instagram and congratulated me on my videos, message and live. Now in 2021, he started this project “ShinodaProduceMe”, where composers use #Shinodaproduceme so that their videos can be seen by Mike's fans and if it generates many views these videos come to him and that way he selects or not. In my case, he remembered my videos from last year (I believe) and sent me a message encouraging me to send a demo if I had it. I made a song and posted it on Instagram. I never imagined having an experience like this, it is extremely rewarding. Mike is just amazing, plus the comments are great too, he praised the song and then asked for a guitar solo, which of course I did running and then sent it to him. I feel very honored that he saw my videos, liked it and then remembered me for this project, he is a great icon of world music and having praise from someone like that is a dream! The song was produced live on Twitch on March 16, 2021. After playing her original recording for his audience, Mike explained: “Keep in mind, she doesn’t have any experience recording … she just recorded it without a click [track] or without a grid … so I put it on the grid … and I put a little tuning on the vocal; other than that I didn’t touch it.” The demo consisted of only vocals and an acoustic guitar. After suggestions from his Twitch chat, Mike decided to make it a lo-fi alternative pop track. He rearranged different parts and pieces of the song and removed parts he felt were unnecessary such as the post-chorus after verse two. He also created a drum track with a few different samples filled in the song with bass, shakers, dominoes, and tambourine.
  14. Congratulations to Mike Shinoda who won a Grammy for Best Remix (Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical) for his rendition of "Passenger" by Deftones. He commented on Twitter: "Thank you to everyone involved and everyone who supported 🤍🙏🏽🔥 @chinomoreno @deftones @Tool @mjkeenan + Mark & Beno for reaching out and asking if I wanted to be a part of this project" and Discord: "I just wanted to pop in and share my excitement for tonight’s Grammy win. The award for my remix of Deftones “Passenger” feat. Maynard James Keenan is my first solo Grammy nomination and win. 🤯 Thanks for streaming it and supporting, as always." He also added: "I didn’t really expect to win, and didn’t feel like I needed to go hahaha" This is his first solo Grammy, after the two awards won with Linkin Park: Best Hard Rock Performance for "Crawling" in 2002, and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Numb/Encore" in 2006.
  15. A previously unknown Xero tape is being auctioned on May 19th to benefit the American Association for Suicide Prevention. This tape comes from the personal collection of a music industry executive who received it from Mike Shinoda back in 1997 when Xero was just starting and trying to get signed. The tracklist includes the song "Deftest" which in recent years has become a holy grail in the Linkin Park community. The tracklist will be coming soon from the seller, but at the moment we can tell you a full song ripped from the tape will be posted online as the date approaches. Bidding starts on May 1st. Follow @theflotilla on Twitter for future updates.

  17. On March 25, Mike Posner announced the release of his new single, titled 'Home'. Mike Shinoda shared the teaser on his Instagram stories with the caption: "Excited for you to hear this new song I made with @mikeposner" It's currently unknown what Shinoda's role was in the song. This is his 3rd collaboration with Posner, following 'Prince Akeem' and 'God's Lottery,' both released in Posner's 2019 album "Keep Going." Pre-save 'Home' here: https://mikeposner.fanlink.to/home
  18. Since 2010, lp-bits has been providing the Linkin Park community with numerous live recordings via torrents that never run out of seeds. The site currently holds over 2TB of live audio and live videos from Linkin Park and related projects like Fort Minor, Mike Shinoda, Grey Daze, Dead By Sunrise and Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington. All available for free. Due to the new war, they're having trouble covering the costs to keep the site running. You can help saving this impressive archive by donating: http://paypal.me/lpbitscom
  19. Justus Bennetts, a singer/rapper from Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina known for his blend of hip-hop and punk-influenced pop, has posted on Instagram a teaser of an unreleased song - apparently titled 'Everything Is Nothing' - asking his followers "should i put this one out??" Mike Shinoda shared the video on his own stories saying "go tell @justusbennetts he needs to release this song we wrote together." Over the course of his last Twitch streams (before going on an indefinite break) Mike had announced he was working with several different artists. This might be just one of many collaborations to come.
