Nobody's makes them (also me and you) to pay for this.

Doesn't make it right. It's like people who say "No one is forcing you to buy video game microtransactions". Just because it's there and you can ignore it doesn't make it any less bad.

Of all things, I didn't expect Mike go full on tech bro. Yes, the band has always been looking forward technologically speaking, but this is just.. so damn stupid.

  2. Huh. I definitely didn't had in mind Closer to God when listening to it but, knowing Mike is a huge NIN fan (at least the older stuff as he usually says, wonder what he thinks of anything after The Fragile if someone asked him on Twitch someday) so it wouldn't be out of field for him to do that.

    any news on this?

The fact that some are still waiting for Jeff to release anything without the band's or Warner's consent is very silly. The book was probably as far as we will get, besides those interviews about the book. Don't get your hopes too high.

A lot of these remixes are giving me NIN vibes. This EP was great.

Funny how I didn't think about Trent or Atticus when I listened to the tracks, but, I still have my dream collab between them and Mike someday.

Really enjoyed this EP so far.

  5. Not a huge deal if he ends up not touring, these recent perfomances are incredible. Got chills when the Faint live outro was played, god.

But if he actually tours again someday, playing 30-40 min sets with local talent, is for sure something I would be down for.

Did anyone notice that the word "Go!" that Chester screams in the bridge sounds almost exactly the same as one he screamed in "Blackout", specifically when he screamed it in that one LPTV episode when they are recording the song?

LMAO yes, way, way too close to it. Even if he recorded both songs during that era it's kinda suspicious. Not crazy over this dad Gen X Rock sound but each to his own.

I was gonna grab a second one yesterday (since it was payday) and do a giveaway or somethin'. Give everyone a fair shot at it. Unfortunately it sold out so damn quick. I'll keep my eyes out regardless.

At this point I'd rather buy original CD or vinyl pressings of old records than limited edition ones, unless it's something truly special for me, I'd choose the first.

  8. Man, what a throwback, so much fun during that time (except quarantine). I hope he releases the rest of the unreleased jams someday somehow.

On 10/25/2021 at 11:57 PM, martinez said:

Why Mike wanted to have this jam in both MP3 and WAV formats? Did he planned to do something with it?

I wish the person who owned the channel would give free links for the unfinished jams, they sound so good.

  9. The music video is pretty cool, no AI goofy looking shit. Song's cool even if I personally prefer the Hip Hop vibe, either way, can't wait to hear more random releases from him.

I believe they already did years ago over that 'Welcome' unreleased remix misunderstanding, but the feeling is that their relationship hasn't been that close for a long time now. And he's more into making music with new people and not already established artists so, unlikely.

    That HT t-shirt looks good.

    I wish they would've re-released some for HT20.

Absolutely. Putting a square on a shirt is the lowest of efforts and pretty much always looks like shit which is a shame because it could look great (as you showed).

The recent Fort Minor shirt was and is absolutely disgusting, cannot believe Mike aproved that abomination. And I wasn't a fan of the Meteora 20 merch, I think HT20 did it slightly better, the Xero Demo Tape tees were pretty darn cool. Man, if only we've got something weird and out there like the LPU XIV artwork, take chances, don't charge that much money for such lazy work. Getting so tired of this 'minimalist' effort bullshit.

Song wise, sounds cool, I prefer the Hip-Hop vibe but I don't mind some more Rock elements into his project.

"tHe BaNd DiEd WhEn ChEsTeR dIeD"

"GeT oVeR iT, lP iS oVeR"

That, like 10 times already the past 24-48 hours. I get that attention span is an all time low and not having anything new by all 5 guys together since 2017 is a bummer but for the love of Boris, I cannot take seriously any adult who genuinely gets angry when they're told the band isn't going anywhere and they aren't gonna still release any brand new material for obvious reasons. The emotional attachment is still very strong in the fanbase but at times certain people act extremely odd to the point of treating Chester as a god and the rest of the band as non talented, it sucks and it's in very poor taste.

You are right, the solo stuff is always not good of any of them.

What do you mean not good? DBS? FM? Scoring?

Those projects go from average success to HUGE success. Taste is subjective and I absolutely loved Dropped Frames, Mike making instrumental tracks is awesome, so I don't know what does that mean.

Linkin Park has one of the most precise and meticulous discography, with countless layers of sounds perfectly mixed. I'd like to take those "experts" for a trip to other genres to truly know what's "horribly" mixed

I've heard enough awful mixing songs and albums through the years, especially 'remastered' old songs, I don't recall anything too distracting from their catalogue that I noticed so far. Unless you have some type of legit knowledge or 'ear training' and you're very good at it, there's no other way.

I agree. It's just a hunch ofcourse but him being away from the whole M20 celebration (while hé was present for HT20) leaves a bad vibe.

It's 2023 and people (I hope it's pure ignorance and not malice) are still not aware that Rob has always been a quiet guy that prefers to be in the ocean surfing than with others for the most part. Chester going away definitely affected him a lot but overall, he barely has changed.

Oh yes. This 100% would be amazing, I agree. But I am glad they edited live footage into the Hold It Together video, I quite like it.

Still hate how Mike justifies those small shows not being released with something like "Hey those shows were special because of the intimacy between me and the fans, so releasing a live album would be odd". 😑

I'll be honest I was hoping for an old school Astat post for exactly this reason. To my ears, most of the album sounds the exact same...

Same, as @martinez pointed out, I don't think I could still tell the difference if Manny or a different mixer would've done a new mix with the album, like how many 'experts' around here said Meteora and many other LP albums were mixed 'horribly', I'm honestly clueless.

Aside from the first 4 tracks, this album hasn't aged well for me :(

Not a huge fan but this album overall is still better than most of the collab songs he has done since 2020-2021.

Releasing a MV for a song that was already released 5 years ago is weird, lol

Someone already said it but I confirm it too 100%: Mike shot a mv for that song way back but the raw footage was stolen/lost during a trip, so hence why he made one again.

Version from the last year, registered/owned by BBC. The tracks were probably cut differently than the official release, some of them had different length. Officially released version is registered by Warner.

So, after listening a few times to the whole release + all live shows and watching the WIP video documentary, it's time to sum it up. It's easier to say that this is a lot better release than HT20, even the whole promotion of it turned up really big and it still does very well. I'm gonna say a bit about every disc:

    https://i.ibb.co/WshBTK3/m20-1.png

Disc-1: Meteora - the main album wasn't remixed/remastered, which is awesome, because it doesn't need it. I don't like the mix of the Lost (2002 Mix) I prefer the version from the disc-6, Manny did great job on that. Also, I have read somewhere that the 2002 Mix version has longer intro, i compared the both versions and I haven't noticed that, Chester starts to singin in both versions at the exact same time in the song.

Disc-2: Live In Texas - a bit shame that it is not uncensored, awesome to have full show (or I should say all songs) in HQ, however the version of the audio from the DVD remains exclusive to that release only, some stuff from the songs were cut, which you can compare the length of those versions below:

    [1] - DVD version

    [2] - M20 version

Disc-3: Live In Nottingham - really like this, my favorite tracks are Hit The Floor, Easier To Run. The only small minus I can give is that sometimes the songs are cut wrong, they don't include the whole intro.

Disc-4 & Disc-5: LPU Rarities 2.0 & Live Rarities - really nice to have a quality upgrate, knowing how some of those originally released on the LPU CDs sounds, it's a big differences. Some of those songs had transitions, they didn't remove them, they applied fade-in, fade-out instead. My favorite from the live tracks are: Crawling, Wish, Step Up.

Disc-6: Lost Demos - everything on this disc was new, only 4 songs has Chester on them but still there was more than half of the songs with vocals. It was a really a treasure to listen to all of them. Favorites: More The Victim, Massive, Healing Foot, A6, Wesside, Resolution, Fighting Myself.

This is the best thing that happened since HT20. Looking forward for next 20 anniversary releases.

I personally felt like Meteora sounded slightly louder compared to previous releases, might be just me idk.

Finally got my box set today and I've come around on the new format - it definitely has a more deliberate presentation than the "throw all the shit in" style of HT20, more artful in that way. I do miss having individual sleeves for the CDs with unique cover art, though. At least most of the box gets cover artwork through either this or the vinyl box.

This (first time I recall them using the black box design was for the ATS deluxe boxset in 2010, wasn't changed until for the newer release, crazy). Except the part of NO protective sleeves for the vinyls and having some (hopefulIy) only superficial scratches. Warner can't do things right huh?
