  1. Great point. Listen to the 2006 shows and 2008 shows where Mike introduced Reading My Eyes. Fans loved it. Listen to 2004 when they did the medley, people loved it. Wish was awesome. What the hell makes people say the crowd isn't going to like it if LP does different songs, lmao? 2006? Pushing Me Away keyboard people loved. Hell, people loved it in 2007 and even when I saw it in 2008 in an encore it was badass. HELL, I hate to bring this one out but Chester did The Morning After acoustic in 2001, a song NOONE had heard before and the place fucking ate it up like it was their first Christmas present of their life. Preston and I together have been to enough concerts, seen enough bands live (over 50 this year), and seen enough people at these shows to know that when Linkin Park is on stage, the place is rocking the hell out no matter what they're playing. We've seen cases of bad crowds, yes but really the ONLY example I've seen of that was a Three Days Grace show at a terrible venue as a one-off show in the middle of nowhere. If LP is headlining, they can play whatever the HELL they want and get a GREAT reception. That's what I think people don't understand. I've seen Shinedown 3 times...they played a lot of non-single stuff from the older days and people ate it up..they performed those songs VERY well, got the crowd involved and had lots of energy so the songs came off great and people loved them. From Shinedown to Dave Matthews Band to Foo Fighters, lots of bands play older shit and fans enjoy it. It's not like suddenly the band plays a song you don't know and you INSTANTLY lose interest in the show and get bored. That doesn't happen. And lastly, David Fricke is incorrect. 324 shows in 2001 didn't happen. That's almost like killing yourself touring.
  2. Linkin Park did not play 324 shows in 2001.
  3. You don't lose fans for rocking the hell out of a show. Who cares if they play only HT songs? I'd actually like them to do that for the HT Anniversary but Mike obviously doesn't want to, lol. If LP goes and plays a 12 song club show of all of HT in a row and rocks it, people aren't gonna bitch. There is no damn way the label tells Linkin Park they have to play certain stuff live. Hardcore proof? If Adam sees this I bet he could answer you.
  4. Unless you can get some kind of hardcore proof, I will never believe that Linkin Park management and/or Warner Bros is telling the band they HAVE TO play a certain amount of singles from an album. I HIGHLY doubt Warner says "You have to play 5 MTM singles on this tour", I can't see that happening at all.
  5. Of course on a Minutes To Midnight tour they're going to play all the MTM tracks. And they did. TLTGYA, VDay, In Between...they all got in there. Every MTM track was played and that's fucking great. Not a lot of bands (hardly any actually) play entire CDs live and LP manages to do it every cycle so I HIGHLY praise them for that, hell yeah. 100% disagree on the label thing. LP has Warner by the balls and Warner is not telling them what the hell to play live. EDIT: It might just be me going to 9 shows on the MTM tour, but hell, I heard complaints when LP played the same cities on PR08 that they played on PR07. I heard them from casual AND hardcore fans, that the shows were almost identical. And they were. Yes, some stuff was changed, but a lot of the shows on this tour where they played the same areas twice was similar. I agree with that. I see no harm in asking the band to play some different stuff.
  6. I would say well over 1/4. HTEP isn't some sort of secret. Lots of the same people go see LP over and over again, believe it or not. LP used to play Step Up, And One, etc...I don't think the album is some sort of gem that noone has heard. I'm sure a lot of people know the HTEP songs. HOWEVER, when he rapped High Voltage over POA in Stuttgart, I believe not a single person around me knew what the hell was going on. LP needs to learn to cater to BOTH parties. The casual fans get their share with all the singles. There's like 15+ of them at EVERY show. Why can't the hardcore fans (it's not a small number of them, there's fucking hundreds if not thousands at each show...tons of LPU'ers...go to a show and look at how many damn LPU shirts there are...TONS, from Charlotte to Zurich I saw them) get their share of stuff? We're not asking for a lot, I mean damn, 2-3 older songs? Is it really that hard and upsetting to do? We're not asking for them to play the entire HTEP or even a song off it, even though something like And One would be cool. We're asking them to play stuff we didn't hear on the MTM tour. It's great they added Pushing Me Away, Reading My Eyes, and A Place For My Head back, but they were dropped at points and limited countries got to hear them. What about something they haven't done since 2004 or 2006? With You? By Myself? Forgotten? Hit The Floor? Easier To Run? Whatever happened to those songs? And don't anyone in this thread give me the bullshit of "oh but people won't recognize them". What??? They're on an album! That is the biggest bullshit excuse I have ever heard. And LP playing all singles has NOTHING to do with labels. LP decides their own setlists, as we've known for a while. I don't mean to blow this out of proportion but holy shit, people think it's some sin for them not to play all the singles at the shows. All we were asking for was 2-3 songs they haven't played in a while, not necessarily from the HTEP. They are capable of doing it - Reading My Eyes...etc...they've done it before. We were seeing if they'd do it on an upcoming tour and Mike obviously either didn't understand the question or thinks the band has to play all popular songs every show.
  7. Well, we tried and we did let him know we already had those 5 and needed the rest of the unreleased ones. So he does already know that.... 95% sure Pictureboard wasn't played in 2001.
  8. And Chester denied Mike when he wanted to put Reading My Eyes into the Venice, Italy setlist in 2008. Wow. Why don't the guys like playing older songs?? New song is likely an MTM b-side, I don't see them creating a brand new song just for this video game.
  9. Post some high points..some low points...I'd like to see what you guys think. Interesting chat. Good thing is, a new LP song is coming in January!
  10. lol @ lots of LPLive questions We're only getting MTM-tour era shows I believe...damn. He said something that indicated to me they'll be playing just singles + new songs live..holy crap.
  11. Yep. Not done with the thread. Made a lot of progress but not totally done.
  12. Well, looks like my 5 copies went somewhere, lol
  13. Don't miss the Dead By Sunrise webcast on KROQ.com!
  14. Interesting. I think Mike pulled the Fort Minor project off much better than DBS did...promotion, management, interaction with fans, release, etc. Quality of the DBS music isn't very good to me - for once I've found an LP-related album that I rarely ever listen to. I even listen to Death To Analog more than Out Of Ashes...very interesting.
  15. Mods deleted every post I made in that entire thread (10 or so) and all the rest of Joe's and some others. We blew the hell up, lol. I said some shit about Ryan I shouldn't have said but hey, they were asking for it.... And yeah man, LP said they were looking to get an album out very quickly...even Mike in Nov 08 said the album would likely drop in 2009. What you fail to see is that Chester spent months in the studio recording, finishing, mixing, mastering, etc the DBS record. He had to go around the world and do promo, he had to tour, etc...all of this adds up. It's not like he was away for 14 days of the year and he couldn't work. Chester doing all of this obviously took away his time to be in the studio with LP.
  16. Why? It was the exact same site, nothing changed.
  17. LOL @ someone not knowing Sold My Soul. Me too man. I was under the impression Fiore was filming at Grafenhainichen, I even saw him and talked to him...no idea what happened to the footage. Would love to see an LPTV episode from 2009's shows.
  18. We get that every time we post about an LPTV episode. Do you not follow Mike's blog? No idea where you've been but Mike sings live - he sang on P5hng Me A*wy which was performed at every show between Projekt Revolution 2003 and the Meteora World Tour in 2004. In Between was played throughout the European and US Winter Tours in 2008. No Roads Left was rehearsed but they didn't like the way the song sounded so it's as simple as that - they didn't play it.

  20. Wow, the time sure has flown by - Mike's LPUnderground chat with the members is on the 9th at 12:30pm PST. Be sure and be there, because Mike chats are usually VERY informative. Does anyone know exactly what you're going to ask yet? Maybe we could get some stuff asked about another art show (New York or something?), LPU9 demos, Across The Line and the older DSP's the band is going to sell. Those are just some ideas. Hope you can make it out...the chatroom will be packed!
