  3. Tickets apparently have gone on sale for the "A Thousand Suns" release concert in New York City on September 14 at the Best Buy Theater. Click here for a link to the sale. Tickets are $50. When preordering LPUX, it was said that fans were getting an LPU email about how to preorder the tickets. Members on LPLive are now reporting that the show is SOLD OUT and somehow a password leaked out. Anyone have a story? What's going on? An LPU email never came? I preordered LPUX and never got anything, how is the show sold out? Can anyone explain the OUTRAGEOUS prices on StubHub and how tickets to this show ended up on StubHub while LPUers were shut out? Link here.
  4. 100% agree with everything. Even with the part about the last time I saw LP was in Grafen, lol. Warm up on a small tour, a promo tour. Not a huge tour.
  5. Yeah we knew they'd hit Aussie in December. The Sydney news report said the December Aussie run would intertwine with the Bon Jovi Aussie run. Asia is in November. I guess all of this will be announced soon.
  6. LOL seconded. Or Blackbirds. Jesus LP could really play a crazy setlist with material they've never played live before, or songs they've just recently released. Check it. New Divide Blackbirds Across The Line Not Alone Pretend To Be No Roads Left The Catalyst 6 songs never played before and 1 barely played. That's awesome. I hate Blackbirds and Not Alone but that's better than hearing Numb, LOATR and SOTD again! LOL @ if every European show gets the same setlist. those Germans that are going to 5 shows are fucked!!! LOL
  7. A poll for one song for them to play in 2011 = badass. Across The Line, Figure.09 or Carousel!
  8. I'm making the point of one shorter setlist versus ticket prices rising. That's what the point of the end of the main post was lol.
  9. http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopi...ost&p=92612 "Concerning the live shows: He said that for the first few tours (like Europe and South America) they'll only do one shorter setlist because they have to get used to play live again but after that, they'll do the longer setlistS, including a poll where the fans can chose one song that the band will play. Pretty badass. By the way, when I asked him about the 2004 Figure.09/From The Inside transition and if they could play that again when they play F.09 he didn't even know what I was talking about LOL. " I'll edit the main post for clarification now.
  10. Hangon I'll find the link in one of these threads
  11. Source?
  12. Someone that went to the listening event said that they were doing a short setlist for 2010 and then next year they are expanding it and making a poll for songs to play.
  13. Welcome. What prompted you to register? lol
  14. The NYC Nokia Theater website has posted info on the record release show on September 14 for "A Thousand Suns" here. The show will be at the Best Buy Theater (formerly the Nokia Theater) in New York on 9/14. Date: Tue, Sep 14, 2010 Showtime: 9:00 PM Doors open: 7:00 PM Days until show: 24 Ages: 16 & Over Ticket Prices: $50.00 (plus convenience charges) Event Details: For all info on this show and to purchase tickets please visit: www.linkinpark.com It says tickets are on sale, but they really aren't. Current LPU members and those that preordered LPUX will receive information on the presale on 8/22 (tomorrow) via email for the presale that starts on 8/23 (Monday). The LPUX preorderers and the LPU members get the first shot at presales followed by those that preordered "A Thousand Suns" on LinkinPark.com. Mike and Dave just said yesterday that they will be playing a shorter setlist live this year (South America and Europe included). What do you think about the price of the show? How about you European fans? Aren't tickets more expensive this year than they have been in the past? For a shorter show? How do you feel about this? See the 2010 tour page for all 2010 Linkin Park tour dates.
  15. Responding to Bec here. Addressing Adam.... How is it an utter fail when he's LEGALLY not allowed to talk about it? You should be grateful he even comes on LPLive and talks to us and answers to the best of his ability (and as legal as he can get) the questions we have for him. I fail to see that as an utter fail. I see that as awesome that someone from the LPU's staff actually is taking the initiative to talk to the fans about their concerns. I appreciate him coming here like many others (LPPanther, Astat, Nkramar, Kathy, etc). No one else in the band's history has done this - he's taking steps to be more personal with the fans. Sure it sucks that he can't talk about everything we want him to but SOMETHING is better than nothing in this case, at least for me. Bandmerch actually is a total piece of worthless SHIT, I hate the company so much I can't even describe it. They fuck people over so much it's just unbelievable. But that's beside the point LOL. /end rant Well duh you've already got most of the tracks from "A Decade Underground" if you were a member since LPU 1. The point was to offer an incentive to preorder LPUX. Unless you bought Songs From The Underground (which didn't come with any LPU membership as an incentive as far as I know), then you didn't have My December live or Hunger Strike live, because neither of those 2 tracks were released anywhere else besides on SFTU, especially for the LPU. NOT TO MENTION the song Pretend To Be, which was totally new, so I have no idea how you already had that one, but props to you. Considering I didn't even know about the song until several days ago, I'm very surprised you already HAD it. Jesus Christ, it was an incentive to preorder. Be glad they didn't give us all old stuff we already had. They could have EASILY thrown on another live version of Breaking The Habit but they gave us instead a demo that we didn't have. Cool beans, at least in my opinion. Addressing some of your other concerns now. Now how in the world can LP make it so people all across the world can participate in online video chats? You really want Mike to do a chat at 5:45am PST so people in Asia can participate? That's just absurd and there is nothing the band can do to accommodate it. Best seats in the house for LPU - I do agree with that, but that's JUST seats. You can preorder standing or pit tickets from the LPU, which is what I do, so I personally have no complaints about that. It allows me early access to get these and hell, LP even dropped all convenience charges on their last USA tour for us, sooooooo I am a big fan of these presales. It's a well known fact the venue/label/promoter/etc (all those other people) reserve like the first few rows/best seats for themselves in the seating area. There's nothing we can do about it. Get over it and sit a few rows further back (I've sat all over the place for LP and enjoyed the show) or get standing/pit. LP ticket prices aren't absurd in my opinion. Double other bands? LOL. $45 for the US arena tour last time. Nickelback was DOUBLE that in April when I saw them. Projekt Rev is like $70 for 11 bands. No complaints from me there either - that's a great deal. Go see all those bands separately and it's way more. I don't understand your argument there. I DO agree with LPU early access like Spiral. That would be sweet. M&G's are all fucked up, don't even get me started. What a mess. Wait for hours, miss the opening band, get released into the back of the crowd, have a 2 minute experience with the band while they focus on their MFR $1,000 M&G people, sit next to people that bought LPU 2 weeks ago and have no idea about the band, etc. Clusterfuck and the whole system needs to be redone. So I agree with the M&G stuff. I'm just addressing everything EXCEPT the prices. I know $60 is a lot and I frankly have no idea exactly what it's for so I can't say WOOO SWEET or WTF FUCK THAT yet because I don't have details on it. Maybe they redid the M&G system, maybe they give us more cool perks at shows, maybe they have 1 demo per month come like the FM Militia had or something...maybe not. We'll see. But I was just addressing your other points.
  16. Consider myself corrected. That's weird though because it says 2008 demo. MTM is from 2007. I wish LP would do descriptions and explanations of tracks they release. If so, then that's yet another track that destroys In Between lol.
  17. Of course they made a lot during the ATS sessions. We already got one of those tracks the other day with Pretend To Be. It's possible there will be one or two ATS sessions tracks on LPUX but I highly doubt any more than 1 on the CD (other than Pretend To Be. Not sure if PTB is on the CD or not but I wouldn't think it would be.) So in your opinion there couldn't be any more Hybrid Theory or Meteora demos? If you ask me, there couldn't be any more MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT demos. We got a reworked Not Alone, we got Across The Line (which was a clip in the DVD), we got No Roads Left (iTunes) and we got (possibly reworked) Blackbirds. That's more than the Meteora sessions, WAY more. The band confirmed they stopped working on Grecian and we have QWERTY, Announcement Service Public, etc. Surely there's not that many more songs that they almost completed from MTM. Take a look at Meteora. We have the entire CD and that's it. The only other song from those sessions that was released was A.06 / A-Six. There's clips from the Making Of Meteora of another demo (the one that goes "Thoughts That Take Away My Pride") and there's clips from the LPTV Summer Sanitarium 2003 episode of an unreleased instrumental when Brad and Mike are at the M&G table. That's two clips of something already right there. The band said they remixed Meteora tracks but never released them - there's something. SURELY they made more songs than just what we have from Meteora. You'd be ignorant to think otherwise. I bet there's more, I'd be willing to put money on it. Hybrid Theory, take a look at that. We have the entire album and ten trillion demos but the only songs from those sessions that we have (that are DIFFERENT) songs would be High Voltage (Remix), which doesn't count as an entirely new song really, and She Couldn't. The rest are just demos of Hybrid Theory or the Hybrid Theory EP. Let's take a look at songs from that era that we possibly know of. The video of LP rehearsing in Burbank (the video of BRAD, MY FUCKING PARKING TICKET) has that instrumental clip they are jamming on. There's one. Pictureboard is in there, but that dates back to Xero time. They said Esaul was written during Xero too, so there might be a recording of that. And I highly doubt Xero only recorded 6 songs (those 2 and the 4 on the tape). There surely is more from that period, whether it's full fledged songs, half completed songs, or even instrumentals. Reanimation? Team Sleep's remix of My December, the version of WHATEVER song Ryu recorded vocals for (With You, Enth E Nd, or whatever he claims it was, lol), and I'm sure there's more. LP sent stems out to their friends to remix the songs and picked the best ones for Reanimation, so I'm sure they have more remixes that are unreleased. We already have two - Buy Myself (Manson Remix) and Pts (Crystal Method Remix). More? Highly possible. So your claims of there being no more Hybrid Theory or Meteora tracks...I find that total bullshit lol. We said that before and then She Couldn't came out. Of any of the 3 major albums, we have the MOST tracks from the MTM sessions and the LEAST amount of tracks from the Meteora sessions. There's a TON of unreleased LP stuff in the vault. I bet ATS has a ton of stuff but like I said earlier in this thread, they are likely to save that and release it later. MTM might have 1 or 2 more songs but this is a CD for LPUX - the last 10 years of Linkin Park. Very VERY VERY likely there are numerous Hybrid Theory and Meteora songs we've never heard of and hell I'll even bet there's a Hybrid Theory band or Xero band song on there too. The band isn't fucking around with the LPU CDs and I saw that with LPU9 - they dug deep and got us some really cool stuff. If they are saying LPUX is even better, I expect fully unreleased songs/songs I've never heard of that just kick ass. /my 2 cents
  18. Main page update: EDIT: Those that attended the listening session for ATS can confirm that the demos will be from every album and one is even pre-Hybrid Theory. Unrelated, the band said they are thinking about extending the setlist live to accommodate more songs.
  19. Willing to bet a concert ticket on the next LP tour on the CD having something from the HT era. Something older than ATS. It's the 10th anniversary. I'm serious, lol.
  20. That couldn't be any further from what I want, lol. LPU9 was badass but it just didn't have enough. It left me CRAVING older LP material. It was just badass to hear the evolution of the songs like Fear, Figure.09, Faint, Drum Song, etc. It was really really cool. A-Six, dang. I could listen to that stuff all day long. I'd like even more demos of songs we know, but what'd be even better is a CD with songs we've never even heard of. What if there's songs from like the Xero era that we've never even heard of? Sure, they had Esaul, Pictureboard and the 4 song Xero tape, but what if there's more? What if there's another Hybrid Theory-era song like She Couldn't we don't even know of? A Meteora b-side? You'd have to be flat out ignorant to think that LP has released all of their good material. Hell, look at Across The Line, lol. Surely there has to be more. If some of that stuff makes it onto this LPUX CD, I will be one VERY happy man. There's 10 songs - I can't wait. Another good reason (in my opinion) that I don't want there to be 2008+ material on the LPU X CD is this: just take a look at the Minutes To Midnight era. There was a b-side on iTunes, there was a single released 2 years later for a movie, there was a b-side in an iPod game, another b-side on an LPU CD years later, an instrumental for the LPU, a song for Download To Donate, etc. My point is this - songs from 2008, 2009 and 2010 will find their way out. It is very obvious that the band is wanting to use older, unused material (possibly reworking it) for future release. I think that is BADASS. So I have no doubt in my mind that ATS-era songs will find their way out slowly over the years. I don't need those on an LPU CD. Hell, we already just got one yesterday with Pretend To Be. More will come. I want the LPUX CD to slap me hard in the face and knock me off my feet in surprise. I want shit I (someone that's followed the band's every move for many years) haven't even heard of or thought about. Hell, Hybrid Theory is 10 years old now. What time is better than now to release some shit from that era that we've never known about? Exactly. And I think they can do it.
  21. At the listening party in Hamburg for "A Thousand Suns" with Mike and Dave, LPL user BlackChester asked them what was going to be included on the LPUX CD.... The answer is ten demos. This goes along with the LPU's press release, stating "In the next couple of months, we’ll also be announcing the track listing for the exciting new LPUX 10 song CD... which is everything fans have been waiting for." Will it be 10 songs we've never even heard of before? Will it be 10 demos of popular LP songs? Will it be a mixture? Will it contain OLD material? Pictureboard, anybody? Let the guessing game begin! After LPU9, I thought it'd be hard to outdo that CD, but it seems like the band has come through with something even better. EDIT: Those that attended the listening session for ATS can confirm that the demos will be from every album and one is even pre-Hybrid Theory. Unrelated, the band said they are thinking about extending the setlist live to accommodate more songs.
  22. I really don't know the answer to that. I sure HOPE so. However, the LPU website sure doesn't say that at all. It says only the $60 members get to buy merch. Ouch >_>
  23. Are there any good restaurants near the venue open LATE?
  24. Holy crap I agree with everything you said. I think we'll get awesome b-sides and demos. Maybe a remix. I HIGHLY doubt anything live will be on it. LPU knows that live material really pisses off fans now, ESPECIALLY Breaking The Habit LOL. Yeah the Best Buy stuff was ridiculous. Sure, we got the packages and leaks early but it really took away the exclusiveness. For some reason I just have a problem with fans at shows that say "oh yeah I heard a month ago LP was coming to X city so I signed up for the LPU and got a m&g!" That's garbage. Total garbage. I don't like being an LPU member since 4.0 and getting screwed on M&Gs for years and then someone that signed up for 1 week gets one. That's really fucked up in my opinion. That's just my 2 cents but maybe some of you can identify with that. Hell, I went to fucking 4 PR08 shows and got no M&G for any of them. Preston, his girlfriend and I all applied for 5 shows on PR08 and we didn't get ANYTHING. I got passed up on Fort Minor 2006, PR 2007, Nashville 2008, PR08 x5 and then 3 shows in Europe. I finally got a M&G in Zurich, Switzerland last summer but it was after they went down to 2 members. I hope the M&G returns to the 6 person format. 1 out of 12 shows for a M&G is a bit weird considering Ana signed up for the LPU with a second account right before Grafen, applied with her regular LPU account that's been there for years and with the new account, and what do you know, the new one got the M&G. I really think the system is totally flawed. They can say it's random but there's no way. You can easily argue against this but it really is obvious to me at the shows who just joins the LPU for the M&Gs with no knowledge of the band. PR07 was slammed with LPU7 shirts and no one knew SHIT. I talked to like 10 people with LPU7 shirts and they seemed to know nothing about LP. But that's just one experience. I think the fanclub needs to have people that actually know some shit about the band. Doesn't seem fair to me that you can just like a song, join the fanclub and meet the band when other people go fucking insane for LP and LP like, means a lot to them in life, and get passed up for the n00bs on the M&Gs and stuff. Not cool. I was not a fan of the LPU7 and LPU8 shirts but I wear my LPU9 shirt ALL. THE. TIME. literally like 2-3x a week. I think the design is badass so I really do wear it frequently. But yeah Geki for once I totally 110% agree with every word in your entire post lol. Couldn't have said it better myself.
