  1. That's where A Place For My Head, One Step Closer and Faint come in. And for the beginning of the set, Papercut, Lying From You, and From The Inside. Meteora and Hybrid Theory have it completely covered for the explosive parts of the sets, haha, the only help those albums need in "heavy parts" of the set is No More Sorrow and maybe Blackout (if you count that one as high energy). You can't get rid of the tracks from the first two albums or they will legit lose a lot of fans at the shows. Minutes To Midnight is fantastic, I enjoy A Thousand Suns a lot more now, and I dislike LIVING THINGS a good bit other than POWERLESS, IN MY REMAINS and CASTLE OF GLASS (and VICTIMIZED/QWERTY live), but for me their best albums are the first two. When I am at the show, my favorite songs are the songs from Hybrid Theory and Meteora (excluding Numb simply because it's so overplayed).
  2. It looks like for the first time, LP won't be headlining one of the days. They will either be playing right before Muse or right before Metallica. Metallica is what I would assume since I don't think LP would agree to play before Muse at a festival lol, since LP probably believes (and rightly so) that they and Muse are at a very similar status in the world and are both too big to play before one another, if that makes sense.
  3. Rumor I'm hearing is that there is no touring between Australia in Feb/March and Asia in August.
  4. Both times I saw In Pieces (PR07 and PR08) it was great. The first time was pretty epic because since it was a new song, a lot of people didn't know it and there was that collective yell after Brad started his guitar solo.
  5. Really interesting results so far from the poll. Our next poll, probably after the Australia tour, is about what songs you'd like to see live that haven't ever been played. Across The Line, Blackbirds, No Roads Left, Robot Boy, etc.
  6. Jornada Del Muerto! That's really cool. I never knew that's where the song title came from. The band is really creative with this stuff...wow. And the countdown, nice find.
  7. Actually we are working on something related to that Should have news on that in the next week.
  8. Oh then that will be no problem haha. LP owned the Download 2007 show...they really rocked it and the crowd was loving it. The DVD I have of that show is one of the best ones out there that were filmed standing up at shows (not from seats, which is where most fan DVDs are from), right next to Reading 2003.
  9. I was just wondering if anyone had checked this out yet. I don't know where I can buy it from so until I find a rip online somewhere I can't give my thoughts, but that sucks about the RiP tracks. I wish they'd release some songs on singles we don't ever get. Like Hit The Floor live or something.
  10. You think they won't do CASTLE OF GLASS at Soundwave?
  11. Ah that'd be awesome. Reading My Eyes didn't ever get enough plays. 4 in Japan 2006 and 5 in Europe 2008. And dropped for Projekt Revolution 2008 for no reason. That's a really unique song and the band NAILS it. Mike's verses are so sick and Chester really rocks the bridge. Same here....didn't miss NMS when it was gone for a little bit but Given Up is struggling right now. You'd think it'd kick ass in the 2 spot after APFMH but it's a little rough. I think they should swap GU for NMS for a while. The long intro to NMS is great. Me too. It was cool on PR08 (its last tour) but the band was pretty worn out from touring by that point on the MTM touring cycle so I definitely would have said drop it then. But I bet it would have been good on the 2009 tour (that setlist was great). I'm surprised there are so many fans of that song. Also the #1 song has changed throughout the evening a lot. Don't Stay, TLTGYA, P5hng, etc. P5hng leading now is actually surprising since I didn't think that many people loved it as much as I do. My top 3 to see from this poll right now would be P5hng, Figure.09 and Reading My Eyes...shockingly all have a lot of votes.
  12. We are doing a poll to see what older Linkin Park songs fans would like to see the band play in 2013 that were not played in 2012. There is not any song in the poll that has not been played live (like Robot Boy, No Roads Left, or POWERLESS). For example, here are a few songs you can vote for out of 26 total: - And One (Last played Feb 5, 2002) - Easier To Run (Last played April 26, 2003) - Figure.09 (Last played Sept 11, 2004) - My December (Last played March 15, 2004 / piano version played in 2006 and early 2008) - Reading My Eyes (Last played June 25, 2008)) - The Little Things Give You Away (Last played Aug 23, 2008) - Wretches & Kings (Last played Feb 28, 2011) - Burning In The Skies (Last played Sept 23, 2011) - No More Sorrow (Last played Sept 25, 2011) Vote here: http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=9539 Thanks!
  13. I voted for: And One Easier To Run Figure.09 P5hng Me A*wy (would like to see this one badly) Reading My Eyes (played less than 10 times ever I think, it's a great song. hardcore fans love it) No More Sorrow
  14. Hi all, Here is a poll with all of the songs Linkin Park has played live at some point, but did not play in 2012. There is no song here that has NOT been played live (like Robot Boy). The goal is to find out what the online (more hardcore-oriented) LP fans want to hear at the shows that is not being played right now. I might look into adding the 4 songs dropped this year sometime later in 2013 (Crawling, Runaway, From The Inside, Blackout). This is open for discussion, so feel free to reply too. If you want to see something added here, post a reply and we will look into adding it. NOTE: Due to the poll restrictions (aka the way it is set up), the question is split in TWO but there is no difference. Just a part 1 and part 2. Here is what is NOT included: - Crawling is NOT included because it was dropped during the very beginning of the Honda Civic Tour in 2012. - Runaway, From The Inside, and Blackout are NOT included because they were dropped after the European Tour in 2012. - Leave Out All The Rest, Shadow Of The Day, and Iridescent are NOT included because they are in a Medley right now. - Iridescent (Energy Up Version) is NOT included because it was played only once (Moscow's T3 Premiere Show in 2011). - Frgt/10 is NOT included because it was a one-time mashup with Chali 2na. - The Radiance is NOT included because it was "played" once, and at all other show was remixed. - QWERTY is NOT included because it is being played right now mashed up with VICTIMIZED. - Cover songs are NOT included (Wish, Sweet Child O Mine, My Own Summer, etc). - A Thousand Suns "interludes" are NOT included (Fallout, WJL, Jornada, and Requiem). - Cure For The Itch and Session are NOT included. From the best of my knowledge here is the list of songs Linkin Park has not played in 2012, with the date of the last performance next to it. I tried to put them in order. Songs you can vote for: - High Voltage (Remix) (Last played Sept 16, 2001) - And One (Last played Feb 5, 2002) - Forgotten (Last played Feb 24, 2002) - Step Up (Last played March 2, 2002 / last played in 2004 medley on Sept 11, 2004) - Hit The Floor (Last played April 26, 2003) - Easier To Run (Last played April 26, 2003) - By Myself (Last played Oct 29, 2003) - Figure.09 (Last played Sept 11, 2004) - A.06 (Last played Sept 5, 2004) (Only played a few times) - Nobody's Listening (Last played March 15, 2004 / last played in the 2004 medley on Sept 11, 2004) - It's Goin' Down (Last played March 15, 2004 / last played in the 2004 medley on Sept 11, 2004) - My December (Last played March 15, 2004 / piano version played in 2006 and early 2008) - P5hng Me A*wy (Last played March 15, 2004) - Hands Held High (Last played March 7, 2008 / Mike rapped both verses on Proj Rev 2008) - In Between (Last played March 10, 2008) - Reading My Eyes (Last played June 25, 2008) - Valentine's Day (Last played June 27, 2008) - Pushing Me Away (Last played Aug 21, 2008) - Don't Stay (Last played Aug 24, 2008) - In Pieces (Last played Aug 24, 2008) - Wake (Last played March 22, 2008) / Wake 2.0 (Last played Aug 24, 2008) - The Little Things Give You Away (Last played Aug 23, 2008) - Wretches & Kings (Last played Feb 28, 2011) - The Messenger (Last played Aug 31, 2011) - Burning In The Skies (Last played Sept 23, 2011) - No More Sorrow (Last played Sept 25, 2011) Discuss!
  15. Eh 4 out of 9 shows getting APFMH, I guess I could handle that but that's less than half. Cutting Crawling for P5hng is genius, I'll take it all day long. IBG and POWERLESS over LGM all day. And Numb over quickly and with a new intro. Done. I'd take that. Too much New Divide but there's P5hng in there so I won't complain at all. A set with APFMH and P5hng is good stuff and I'd enjoy seeing it quite a bit. That's a pretty solid setlist at the end of the day.
  16. If I had my way with the entire show start to finish, I'd pick it like this. 01. Don't Stay (Gacela of the Dark Death 2004 Intro) 02. By Myself (2003 Intro) 03. No More Sorrow (Long intro) 04. Faint (Some sort of string buildup new intro; New outro) 05. Somewhere I Belong (PR04 Intro) 06. Blackout 07. VICTIMIZED/QWERTY 08. Lying From You/Papercut 09. Empty Spaces (Chester on spotlight again) 10. When They Come For Me 11. Points Of Authority (Reanimated Intro; Outro Jam w/ There They Go) 12. What I've Done (AMBO Intro) 13. Reading My Eyes 14. Figure.09 (Blood Anger Suffering PR04 Outro Transition) > 15. From The Inside 16. Breaking The Habit (2009 "Build-up" Intro (start where Numb ended in 09); PR04 Outro Transition to Numb, when it gets to the part where Numb kicks in after the intro samples, there's a very small abrupt stop, Shinoda says "Let's do it like this" and bam, right into....) > 17. P5hng Me A*wy 18. With You (2006 Intro) 19. Runaway (Transition intro from With You) 20. Bleed It Out (Ext. Intro Jam (WPB 2008); Ext. Bridge w/ Sabotage, Drum Solo, & Singalong; Long "Buildup" Outro) --------------- 21. Crawling (KRWLNG intro w/ vocals) 22. A Place For My Head (Brad solo intro; Ext. Bridge; Ext. Outro) 23. One Step Closer (PR04 Reanimated intro & bridge; Ext. Outro) It's got the recipe for the perfect show - a dash of Figure.09, a dash of Reading My Eyes, and a whooooooole lotta P5hng. Really surprising to me they haven't played P5hng in so many years. Song is so good live.
  17. On the 5 track Fort Minor sampler (Intro, RTN, Dolla, Get It, Petrified) that the FMST gave out in trillions lol, the intro file samples a lot of random songs. Does anyone have a list of what it samples? If needed I can get it started and name 1 or 2 of them. The samples on this are done by Cheapshot and are better than the samples Green Lantern uses on the We Major mixtape (which I know are mostly FM samples).
  18. Some more cool ones: Soundwave setlist: 01. LOST IN THE ECHO 02. From The Inside (Ext. Intro) 03. No More Sorrow (Long Intro) (give Given Up some time off) 04. VICTIMIZED/QWERTY 05. Lying From You/Papercut (these 4 songs in a row are A+ for the crowd and LP jams big) 06. Points Of Authority 07. What I've Done (AMBO Intro; Outro singalong) 08. Wretches & Kings 09. Fallout 10. The Catalyst 11. CASTLE OF GLASS (or IN MY REMAINS, which I originally had before Points) 12. Breaking The Habit 13. BURN IT DOWN (New Intro) 14. With You (Scratch Intro) 15. Somewhere I Belong (2012 Intro) 16. Enth E Nd (time to change it up, In The End has been at every show for over a decade) 17. Bleed It Out (Maybe a new bridge? Sabotage is epic, but they might want to change) 18. A Place For My Head (Extend whatever you want) 19. Faint (Ext. Outro) 20. One Step Closer (Ext. Outro) Sidewave setlist: 01. With You (Game Of Thrones Intro) 02. Faint 03. Lying From You/Papercut 04. Runaway 05. Enth E Nd 06. Somewhere I Belong (2012 Intro) 07. VICTIMIZED/QWERTY or Blackout 08. Empty Spaces 09. When They Come For Me (if they drop this, I will be disappointed. Shinoda jams) 10. Waiting For The End (U.I.B. Intro) 11. Points Of Authority 12. Reading My Eyes 13. IN MY REMAINS 14. P5hng Me A*wy 15. CASTLE OF GLASS 16. Numb (Piano Version) 17. BURN IT DOWN 18. What I've Done (AMBO Intro) 19. LOST IN THE ECHO (2012 Intro, new outro maybe?) --------------- 20. TINFOIL 21. POWERLESS 22. A Place For My Head (Extend anything) 23. One Step Closer (Ext. Outro)
  19. Well they aren't going to exclude COG because it's the new single. The only problem I see with your set is the lack of A Place For My Head. Drop Numb, add COG. Drop LGM, add APFMH before OSC. New Divide, In The End and Numb really need some time off like Crawling is getting. If this was a 2010/2011 year for LP (meaning back when they weren't playing With You, Points, or Somewhere I Belong), this set would be a little boring for the hardcore fan. 14 out of the 19 there are singles. I guess 5 non singles is good but wow the run from WFTE until the bridge of BIO is pretty ehhh if you've seen all those songs a million times. I wonder if the band ever gets tired of playing the same stuff every show. I'd love to see something like this. They'd destroy a festival with this. 01. Outro)
  20. Agreed on that stage sucking but Metallica blows Blink away any day of the week lol
  21. Because Metallica has been around almost 20 years longer than Linkin Park, because Metallica brings way more people to their shows than Linkin Park, because Metallica plays longer than Linkin Park, because Metallica is Metallica lol
  22. Not much you can do with so many bands. Really sucks if you like both LP and Metallica because you have to pick what stage to be at. Metallica shreds the fucking place big time though.
  23. If they drop APFMH from the Soundwave setlist, that will be a sad day lol
  24. After playing a usual warmup show in Las Vegas on the 16th, Linkin Park heads to Australia & New Zealand for a few headlining shows and for the Soundwave Festival. Today, the Soundwave Facebook page has released the schedule for the 72 bands playing 9 stages at Soundwave for Brisbane and Sydney, the first two stops for the festival. It can probably be assumed that the schedule will be almost the exact same for the other three shows after that too. It is also important to note that there are two main stages, which means the transitions between bands will be small. With Metallica "headlining" the festival (aka playing as the last band on the main stage), this puts Linkin Park on Stage 1 B, the second main stage. The time that LP gets to play is from 6:30-7:45, meaning 1 hour and 15 minutes. As headliners, Metallica gets a whopping 2 hours and 15 minutes. It is also worth mentioning the bands playing before LP. Before them on the same stage is Slayer, and the band that performs right before them on Stage 1 A is A Perfect Circle. Before A Perfect Circle, there is Stone Sour and Bullet For My Valentine. With an hour and 15 minutes, LP can probably play between 16-19 songs depending on what they play. For an idea of what could be played, last year the band did a 15 song set for KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas in December (show page here) and a weather-shortened show at NovaRock in Austria for 16 songs (show page here). The 16 song set only clocked in at 65 minutes, so it's possible they could play more than 16 songs. Soundwave includes the following shows for Linkin Park: 23.02.2013 Brisbane, QLD, RNA Showgrounds 24.02.2013 Sydney, NSW, Olympic Park 01.03.2013 Melbourne, VIC, Flemington Racecourse 02.03.2013 Adelaide, SA, Bonython Park 04.03.2013 Perth, WA, Claremont Showground The headlining shows in Auckland, Darling Harbour and Melbourne will obviously get full setlists, so the band might stick with two setlists for this tour (one for Soundwave and one for the headlining shows). What would you like to see them play? Do you think they will debut any other songs off of LIVING THINGS? What do you think the 75 minute setlist will include? To see the rest of the 2013 LP tour dates that have already been released, click here. EDIT (FEB 11): The Melbourne and Adelaide schedules have been released. Linkin Park is playing at the same time (still for an hour and fifteen minutes, as expected), but a few of the other bands have changed time-wise.
  25. True fact. Absolutely true fact. They were a good band. Kurt was a professional at writing the simplistic songs. But Foo Fighters destroys Nirvana in terms of music.
