Same. Let's get down there on the 5th then. Screw it, looks like a 3-4 day residency in WPB haha. Fine with me since that's the best beach in America that I've been to....really epic. And the venue kicks ass - this is a fantastic place to kick off a tour. Huge party vibes.

Carnivores Tour kicks off on August 8th, 2014 in West Palm Beach, Florida. It will be Linkin Park's first return to the city since Projekt Revolution 2008. Like Honda Civic Tour and the A Thousand Suns North American Tour (the last two tours in the USA/Canada), there will be a production rehearsal before the tour that fans will be able to attend. On August 6th, 2014, Linkin Park will set up shop at Cruzan Amphitheatre for their rehearsal. This is two days before the tour starts and will avoid three performances in a row for the band to kick off Carnivores. 93X in Minneapolis has a contest where the winner gets to fly out and attend the rehearsal and the show on the 8th. We are expecting the LPU to announce something for fans to win entry as well, similar to Honda Civic Tour in 2012. Thanks to Astat for the heads up!

From our good friends at ChesterBNetwork: "Grammy Award-winning rock band Linkin Park will headline the 5th annual Stars of the Season fundraising soirée for Banner Children’s at Cardon Children’s Medical Center. On the heels of the band’s sixth studio album release, “The Hunting Party,” and the North American The Carnivores Tour, Linkin Park will deliver a special performance for Stars of the Season guests to raise funds for pediatric oncology and establish integrative cancer care at Cardon Children’s Medical Center. Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington has been involved with Stars of the Season since its debut in 2010 and leveraged his industry influence to secure Linkin Park, yet another multi-platinum band performing in support of pediatric health care. Stars of the Season’s reputation for attracting the biggest names in music also enabled the planning committee to land Ted Stryker, drive-time DJ on The World Famous KROQ in Los Angeles, as emcee for the third straight year. Stryker’s theatrical entrances, emotional connections to the children whose lives are impacted by proceeds from Stars of the Season, and ability to engage guests and launch live auction bidding wars have made him an instrumental part of the annual fundraising affair. To keep the event going into the wee hours of the morning, DJ Jen Jones will deliver explosive electronic dance beats during a private after-party at CENTRO, a trendy lounge bar located in the center of the Montelucia property. The venue’s sophisticated atmosphere coupled with Jones’ superior mixing skills will ensure the perfect ending to an otherwise unforgettable evening." The event will be on October 25th, 2014 at Omni Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Montelucia in Paradise Valley, AZ. Chester will be a co-chair of the event. Stone Temple Pilots, Dead By Sunrise, and Chester w/ an all star band lineup have performed this show in the past, so it will be Chester's fourth show for Stars Of The Season!

THP Best Buy Preorder/2 Track CD + Monterrey, MX DVD
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
The one from LP.com comes with the lyrics. I couldn't be more pleased with how this all went down, except for Best Buy. I couldn't find the UIG/GATS CD in several stores until I finally came across a stack of some yesterday. When I returned today I was very unhappy with how they handled it - they had never heard of this $5 deal, when I presented the CD back to them with instructions they were very confused. Finally after two managers and 25 minutes later, we got it handled. I even pulled up the LP.com announcement to show them. But it was COOL of the band/Best Buy to do this - I would buy this deal for any album because it gives us 2 songs early and gives us a discount on the album. Now I feel like I got the CD/DVD for just $10. Good stuff there. The LP.com preorder of the album had the digital download sent out last night right at midnight to fans. That's flawless. The orders are arriving early too. So between that and Best Buy, I'm very happy with how the CD was released (besides the store not knowing WTF they were doing). One thing I thought they should have done, though, was release a "making of" DVD! I love Monterrey, but why only 10 songs? I'd prefer a "making of" DVD. -

Let's do this! -
My guess is: Carnivores, South America in October, Europe after that. USA in December.

linkinpark.com is shifting from Ning
hahninator replied to zerothree's topic in Everything Linkin Park
I'm talking about when they wiped threads that had been there for ages. That really does affect a site and community drastically. This happened on both the LPU and LP.com and look what happened - people stopped going. It's not just the post count or anything. It's the entire place being wiped clean and adios. -

Nothing like losing the community's shit twice now. Ouch. Not worth re-registering there after the swap. Really sucked when the LPU forums got lost...that was a great community there and that put the bullet in the forum when they redid it. -
On the 17th, Linkin Park performs at KROQ in Los Angeles for a Red Bull Sound Space performance. KROQ describes the room for Sound Space by saying, "For years we’ve often wondered, “Wouldn’t it be cool if we kicked out the sales department and turned the giant open room into a night club, complete with a stage, studio lighting and amazing sound?”" This is a pretty intimate performance and the only way in is to win from the LPU or from KROQ. For the Sound Space performance, we can expect at least five songs from the band and possibly more. It all depends on what Linkin Park decides to play! Most bands that perform there usually do between five and seven songs, with Kings Of Leon being an exception and performing thirteen. We are guessing seven total, but don't hold us to that. We'll definitely see Guilty All The Same, Until It's Gone and Wastelands off of the new album, and we assume a mix of older singles in there with those. We aren't expecting any other songs from The Hunting Party to be played at this time. This set will be webcasted online at 12:00pm PST / 3:00pm EST, and you can watch it here. It will also be streaming on KROQ.com for 24 hours after the performance. This is the first of several promo appearances for the album release week. After this performance, the band has an album release show at Los Angeles's iHeartRadio Theater on the 18th. That show will be streamed as well, and then Jimmy Kimmel Live will be showing some sort of live performance on the 19th. The band's outdoor concert there was canceled but JKL says that the band will be recording a few songs "elsewhere" to show on TV. We're not sure if that means it'll be an exclusive JKL set done somewhere else or if they'll be songs from the iHeartRadio Theater. For the full 2014 touring schedule, click here.

In addition to the launch of our Wiki section in 5.0, we are proud to introduce a new Wiki page: the plectrum guide. We've been (slowly) working on the plectrum guide since the end of 2010, but we didn't make much progress due to the lack of material. But now, over 3 years later, and with help from fans, we finally were at a point where we felt like we could launch the almost-completed guide. The plectrum guide is not fully done yet... it's still missing a few picks but with your help and support we hope to fill the gaps over time. For more info and to find out what's missing, go to the forum discussion here. We'll continuously update the guide and add more information to it. Merch and the other two LPU picks will be added soon as well. A very big shoutout goes to [AndOne] of LPLive staff for his hard work on this guide! Enjoy!

THP Best Buy Preorder/2 Track CD + Monterrey, MX DVD
hahninator replied to hahninator's topic in Newswire
After I looked at several Best Buys, tonight I finally found the UIG/GATS CD. I'll return tomorrow to buy the CD/DVD and like Geki, I can't wait to watch Monterrey. -
I will agree with Astat. I listened to the full show today and also watched all of the videos Garo uploaded. The crowd isn't blowing up at all besides the VERY front. I'm not sure what the deal was but if this was at Rock am Ring I guarantee there'd be a much better reception. They weren't loud. They did a good job on the Hybrid Theory songs. In particular, the samples on Runaway seemed a lot louder and sounded great. Astat were those there in 2012? The bass was rolling on that song too....I was very impressed By Myself came off well. In all, the songs sounded very good. The band seemed nervous or they were paying close attention to how they were performing on Forgotten and Pushing Me Away, but besides that, I liked how the songs sounded. lol @ Brad coming in too early on PMA intro. Since when has APFMH started with Rob in this way? Chester's comment on the rarer songs maybe sticking around was good to see on Twitter. I guess I can understand now why they don't play all of these tracks anymore, though. They seem WAY more into Burn It Down, etc than some of these tracks and I guess that's understandable from their perspective. On Carnivores I hope to see APFMH and Runaway. Runaway won't be around sadly (even though Download's performance sounded amazing)...so maybe we'll get By Myself and Cure For The Itch. Keeping my fingers crossed. The rest of the set sounded excellent besides Joe fucking up the New Divide intro. Is there a reason why they couldn't do Lost In The Echo full there at the end?

I wrote them. Either we ask questions the fanbase wants to know and we get zero time of day from the press contact and we never get anything answered, or we ask these generalized questions about the new album/music and get a few answered. I figured something is better than nothing here. It's just how it works. It's INCREDIBLY difficult to get them to answer something - I am very surprised that this ended up happening.

A few months ago, LPLive had the opportunity to team up with RoadToRevolutionBR to send in questions for Linkin Park to answer about their brand new album The Hunting Party. Ten questions were composed by LPLive and our staff to send in with some help from RTRBR; in the end, someone chose three for RTRBR and then invited LPBR (Linkin Park Brazil) on for three. Somehow (maybe deliberately), LPLive was lost in the process here, but at least the band answered the questions that we wrote up. We'd like to thank Felipe Mendes for his time and effort in getting this interview for the sites! Mike and Phoenix sat down with an iPad on the way to a recent show in Europe to answer the following three questions for the two sites: 1 - Looking back through your discography, Linkin Park is known for changing musical directions from album to album, keeping everyone on their toes and creating a lot of anticipation for new music. After recently discussing the change in direction for The Hunting Party with Rolling Stone, you said that you were unhappy with the current state of music with indie and pop. What made you decide to end up going with an aggressive, harder rock sound on this record? 2 - Besides Owen Pallett contributing strings to 'I'll Be Gone' on your last album, Living Things, Linkin Park hasn't had any guests on your albums outside of Reanimation. Were you making a conscious decision to just do something different this time around with guests on the album? Did it just feel natural to think outside of the box and bring someone else on board in a certain part in a song? With Rakim, Daron Malakian and Page Hamilton on The Hunting Party, that's quite an impressive list of guests! 3 - With The Hunting Party, we see something interesting from the band that we’ve never seen before - a self-production credit. After co-producing the last three albums with Rick Rubin, you guys take the full reigns here on this album. Was it just time to finally self-produce an album by yourselves? Check it out and let us know what you think!

I have to say I'm really disappointed with the crowd from the videos I've seen. Band nails By myself wow it sounds great. But the crowd isn't moving around...RAR 2014 looked way crazier. Why isn't the place bouncing and going insane? If this was Germany they'd blow the place apart lol, I thought Download would bring the craziest of the crazy fans who wanted to blow up all show.

Linkin Park to play KROQ Red Bull Sound Space, June 17th

"Its not moving the needle of pop culture. And I dont want rock to be pop." Then what the everliving fuck was this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Living_Things_(Linkin_Park_album) -
Setlist pic is up, it's confirmed to be the same as in the rehearsal video. I think Act 2 is pretty weak.... Just one Meteora song is really surprising. There is room for 12-13 songs there. I'd do it like this, fuck it: No More Sorrow (w/ long intro) Guilty All The Same Lost In The Echo (Full) Wastelands Lying From You Waiting For The End (Apaches Intro / Wall Of Noise Outro) Mike Solo Medley Until It's Gone (w/ intro) What I've Done From The Inside Given Up Faint

Really sucks BID stayed.

Wow, great! I guess they'll do how they usually do....post the German ones at once, maybe the UK ones at once, and then confirm the others slowly, lol
