  1. Just throwing it out there that you forgot about Lights working with Mike. She also recently left her label to start her own so she's a bit of a free agent, can hit the range needed for a lot of LP, has been on metalish and rock songs, and has always had an experimental approach to her music that I've thought resembles LP's vibes.
  2. He does have that similar vibe in his voice that makes him a nice comparison. They actually just dropped their final album this past Friday. Half is very classic sum41 anthem type songs and the other half their later more metal infused style. Nice send off and a bittersweet but well deserved close so Deryck can rest instead of running himself ragged.
  3. Gotta love Spotify acting up and claiming FF isn't available
  4. That's fair Also, since you mention Catalyst, check out Don't Need Nothing by Aly and AJ. I like to joke with friends that they're the same song bc they follow similar progression from single voice and simple music to overlapping repeating voices with drums and full band killing it
  5. Y'all, remember when Mike said "New Era" before starting promo for Already Over? Didn't he also say in subsequent posts about each chapter being different themes and colors, starting with red bc it's his favorite? Red - Already Over Green - Friendly Fire, Greatest Hits ????? - ??????
  6. I think you answered yourself lol (to drive fans crazy with hype and generate buzz**) I'm sure after the album announcement, they'll give some more info. Mike did repost the FF teaser. I think they know this gets us all frenzied, which works better at this stage to get hype going.
  7. ALITS is one of my favorite tracks tbh. It feels like it tells a story similar to how Green Day has Jesus of Suburbia or Sum41 did the trilogy of songs on Screaming Bloody Murder. Yeah, it jumps between styles, but I feel there's an understood progression that reminds me of Wake. In a looser sense, it feels like a mix of THP songs as well as their overall catalog until that album. It's sad that it doesn't hit the same way for others (that's on the song, not a 'you just don't get it' sense).
  8. I'm having flashbacks to Tribal Ink songs being spread around limewire as unreleased LP songs lol
  9. If it's intentional that they left it blank and it's something unreleased, I'm willing to bet it's another OML vault track. They have been having apparent success with the box sets, so they wouldn't want to pull from those wells when they can go towards MTM20, ATS20, and LT20. I am unsure if we'll get 20 year boxes after that as they seem to have forgotten about THP and OML's timing will likely prevent them wanting to do an anniversary celebration. Plus they'll be late 50s or even 60 by then and prolly focused on chilling.
  10. We're on page 13 discussing it. A bunch of LP fans I follow on Twitter and the LPL account are all posting and sharing and joking, so it generates posts that will show in other ppl's feeds, which reaches the target audience. It's been a simple series of teasers, but it's working. The LP social media crew has always been good at that.
  11. Being that they'll almost 100% have a vinyl release with it, that's what interests me most since it'll allow me to pop it on the player and just have a stream of hits. If it were just digital/cd, I'd grab the CD to have physical copy of the new song and shelve it and add the new song to current playlist and be done with it. Not the most interesting release, but the new song likelihood and the implications this release may have on the future of LP make it intriguing to me.
  12. Already Over (Simlish Version) would be an actually great track to include lol LPU8 level troll from the band Also, it's fun to be back with hype for a release. I didn't have too much energy for HT20 and was too busy for M20 and now we have some unknown type of thing happening.
  13. I'm guessing they'll do a similar type box set as HT20. My guess for the big set is: Vinyl - Meteora - Live in Texas - Maybe Collision Course CD - Demos - Live in Texas enhanced with bonus tracks DVD - Live in Texas - Camden 2004 - Rock Am Ring 2004
  14. Man, wish they had a few more tiers, I can't personally justify the Super deluxe when I wouldn't touch the vinyls. But I would get a $110/$120 tier that didn't include those.
  15. There are two demos that haven't been heard at all. New to everyone outside the band. New music New release
  16. I might be old school, but I like having physical copies of media to ensure I continue to own a copy when streaming or other digital services remove said content or close up shop. Netflix took Avatar off for 8 years, I still was able to watch bc dvds. I had to transfer my digital movie library to another service or risk losing access in the past few years because Ultraviolet shut down.
  17. The way it's shaping up, it makes no sense for it to be one disc. No matter what, the standard album is going to be included, whether retouched, new disc art, or just standard re-release. All the songs revealed so far are too much to tack on to the end of the HT list as bonus tracks. My prediction: 2+ discs High confidence: 1: Hybrid Theory in some form (whether og, remaster, new art print, etc) 2: The song list from the computer promo Just guessing: 3: Hybrid Theory demo tape that was submitted for the deal Hoping but not expecting whatsoever Also, question: do you think My December and High Voltage will be included somewhere?
  18. Has he ever answered if the last song for post traumatic will get some form of video?
  19. *Sean Dowdell screams in distance* Now that I have disposable income, I'd love to upgrade my collection with really nice 20 year sets
  20. I think the production on Lights's vocals don't really add much in this song like it does in say, Love Me by Felix Cartal. I personally dig it but can see why people only checking it out because Mike appears on it wouldn't really enjoy unless they liked the genre or Steve Aoki already. Think the vocals could've transitioned from Mike to Lights better (maybe she comes in on his last line or something for the verse). Both them together was pretty awesome for me though
  21. The point was that they give more to a discussion than just "this is shit". I know ATS's filler argument is a dead horse, it was a dead horse 3 days after the album leaked. MTM is completely subjective. Both at least open it up for a response that can progress the conversation. Let's put it like this: "How was work?" "It was trash" "Well why is that?" "It's shit"
  22. Back to the subject a bit more, I absolutely love Lights and glad she's finally collaborated with Mike. For people wanting to check her music out, I have a list of songs that I feel are more likely to appeal to LP fans, basically working backwards from her most recent to older: Love Me - Felix Cartal ft Lights Long Live - Lights ft Travis Barker Amateurs - Sleepy Tom ft Lights Drama Free - Deadmau5 ft Lights Warrior - Steve James ft Lights Lost Girls Savage New Fears We Were Here Moonshine Magnetic Field Almost Had Me Up We Go Same Sea Speeding Oil and Water Slow Down Lucky Ones From All Sides Where the Fence is Low Everybody Breaks a Glass Suspension Flux and Flow Fourth Dimension Ice (mainly for the bridge being nuts) Saviour - The Angry Kids FM Mix
  23. "This is shit" "This is total trash" - neither add anything to discussion. Nowhere did I say you aren't allowed to do that, but maybe add value or even just substance. Your opinions on anything content-wise could be replaced with a bot coded to switch between canned responses. ^^^^you can criticize something, but at least provide substance to back it up. i.e. ATS as a whole front to back album is fantastic, but the fact it was toted as being 15 new tracks but only 9 actual songs and an instrumental with 5 interludes that seem thrown in is kinda bullshit. The non singles on MTM did not age well to me, I think it's due to how stripped down everything was that makes them sound unfinished/unpolished. vs ATS is trash, MTM is shit
  24. Do you want a martyr card stamp or tiny violin. Nobody's getting worked up over people not liking a song. People are pointing out edgelords repeating the same exact insufferable phrases for the past 13 years. Each album's had good and bad tracks and people have different tastes in the music they prefer, but if all you ever are going to say is "this is shit" to every single thing for years, then why are you still here? I've had other bands where their albums stopped appealing to me, but I don't sit with a plate of chicken tendies squawking about how anything they do is awful.
  25. I think you and spraypaintinkpens and you are the consistent "shit on everything". Even Geki comes around on some stuff or had variety in his opinions. It's a Steve Aoki song, you care a bit apparently
