i'll be going! i won the linkin park australia competition to fly over to london for the gig on the 10th... flights, accommodation, transfers and gig tickets included! so as you could imagine, i'm now even more stoked (like that was even possible!) that something like this just so happens to be occurring while i'm over there! huge thanks to everyone involved with LP and the LPU for hosting something like this... it really is extraordinary. and wth to people complaining that they should have known about this way in advance so they could buy LPUX straight away... i thought it was pretty clear that there'd be awesome stuff like this on the way?

see with wretches i heard heaps of differences? been a while since i gave it a listen, but from what i can remember the 'hey, hey, hey' bits sounded far more military-ish if that makes any sense... also, chesters vocals sounded somewhat different to me - especially on the pronunciation of 'blow' (i think?). i need to hear it again!

yeh pre-sale started today man... i think they only emailed those who'd pre-ordered LPUX for some reason? i got the email and got my melbourne tix. can't do the second sydney show as i'll be heading back to perth that night

i feel very inclined to add to this... it may well be the case that the proshot footage exists in HD as murphyLP said... but i have to agree with arbiter - the rips on youtube are extremely ordinary at best. there is hardly any bass to it, not to mention the static/hiss present on the audio. the mixing is a bit lackluster as well - but hey, once the DSP is out - im sure someone skilled enough could mux that audio to this video hopefully this is just an issue with the rip and the source is solid - would be good to see these in HD!!

would be awesome to have them do second shows in all states - but i severely doubt adelaide, perth and maybe even brisbane will be able to sell 2 shows. though from what i'm hearing from the ticket-buying-latecomers... all the good seats are gone already, which must mean they're at least close to selling out?

very true - ive just heard cases in the past of record companies shipping an excessive amount to stores (one way or the other) to make it look like a particular album was a very strong seller - then stores were left with plenty of copies they couldn't then on-sell to the customer. this is clearly not the case with LP - in australia, the album has stuck to no.1 for 4 consecutive weeks - which is at least reflective of the fact that week to week the album is selling well

hmmm if that's the case, how does that equate to those world-wide figures being false? it could very well still be correct. not sure how it works everywhere else, but in australia - the gold/platinum certifications aren't actually reflective of the amount sold in-stores - it's simply an indication of how many copies have been shipped to stores.

anyone have any idea the track pack got canned? i was hella looking forward to it just cracked out both games again quite recently - wasn't aware they had put up 2 new tracks from two of my favourite bands (silverchair and 30 seconds to mars).

4 weeks in and they're still NUMBER ONE in australia! so if that global chart is correct - are we to believe the album has sold 885,000 copies worldwide so far?

surely it's not just them announcing the 2nd melbourne and sydney shows? i haven't checked their page in a few days so not sure if they've already announced it there. and yup, it is run by warner music australia - i know because i won the comp on www.athousandsuns.com.au to fly to london and see them play at the O2 arena!!!

feck. im flying around the country to go to each of these - but already booked our flights and we'll be leaving melbourne on the 15th - hence, won't be able to go to the last show they play in aus epic fail (just for the record, i'm not angry at the band/management/promoters for this - just myself for not allowing any extra time! having said that... the order of the dates on this tour are random as! )

HA! i can't believe someone else has said this! on joe's blog - i asked him what his thoughts on 3d were, as i felt the catalyst was screaming for the 3d treatment (watched it in simulated 3d on my 3dtv and it looks unreal)... his response? 'i'm already onto 4d' LOL
