I really really dig their folk influences. I mean, wow, I couldnt imagine it would match so perfectly with the electronic elements. Also, did anyone else notice how Castle of Glass, Roads Untravelled, Skin To Bone, and parts of other songs have a really different vibe on the vocal melodies than anything they've done?
Oh come on...the quality is great, the full album is there, just a click away...and everyone's going nuts over how great it is...you have to listen to it...NOW...
So, I've heard an album that has a unique sound, is very diverse, has some of the most quality melodies and choruses I've ever heard from Linkin Park, has songs with a typical structure and songs that go hard on experimentation. And a perfect balance between up tempo and slower songs. It doesn't cross the 'pop' line, it's definitely very "rockish". Thank you for coming back, Linkin Park.
Yes I know how a guitar sounds. And there's a thing called effect pedal that can make it sound like ANYTHING. Not only one type of distortion makes it "a guitar".
Well IMO they are not so overwhelmed. Especially in Lost in the Echo it's a clear heavy guitar sound. The distortion is different from the HT era but these are clearly guitars.

the quality is not good enough but whatever...
It seems this was fake.
Btw someone should fix the links on the main post, they're not working...
The Catalyst's synth riff has the same sound. I agree,it feels weird in the beggining but man when the guitars kicked in I forgot all about it. It war really powerful.
Greatest hits compilations didn't ever make sense for me. The only good thing is that sometimes there is a little something extra, like a new song...But I don't think this is legit since they are releasing a new album this year, and they'll focus on that. It would be quite odd releasing a Greatest Hits the same year...
That's how we all like it but if Chester carried on singing like that until now there wouldn't be any of his voice left. :/
Anyways, get rid of Crawling, I didn't like it that much after all
I don't find it surprising that Mike proposed to people not to listen to the leak and instead preorder or buy the album the day it comes out. But I find it kinda naive for someone to say that he's doing it because he cares about the whole experience thing and because it would be so cool to throw a party to listen it with your friends on its release date. Linkin Park have a contract with Warner Bros, so when it comes to marketing and promotion of the album, Mike is nothing but Warner's loyal employee, and therefore it's their interest that he has to support. So it is expected of him to make posts like that, to make more people buy it and therefore make more money. It's as simple as that.
My biggest disagreement is that you can't tell people to buy an album they haven't even heard. That's why I'm against even with this pre-order thing. Ok I can justify it for a hardcore fan to buy an album just because it's from that certain band, but for everyone else it doesn't work like that. I don't see what is wrong with downloading an album and judging if you want to buy it or not. That's how you show real support to an artist, and not by blindly buying everything they put out.
