  1. Kind of funny, this is the first track I've listened to from ATS in full that I've enjoyed from start to finish on listen number one. Awesome song!
  2. I think the following songs NEED to be played in the 2010-11 tours at least once: A Place for My Head - they brought it back in 08, and it was more epic than ever before! Figure.09 - This song + interlude into From the Inside = orgasm Easier to Run - I honestly don't know why this was only played once, they nailed it that single time! With You - Although I reallllly don't think it would be the same live anymore... Imagine adding some ATS beats to it? And One - Who DOESN'T want this played? I'm also a firm believer that Papercut will come back to the regular setlist.
  3. Don't worry, I'm not judging at all. I think that's one of the most interesting parts about Linkin Park, they have such a wide fanbase with completely different opinions! It's thanks to their originality and drive to always create different genres of music that have created these gaps between their fans. Some people can enjoy the relativity of their lyrics, while others enjoy the deeper meanings in their songs. At the same time, some members love their heavy tracks and despise the soft ones, and vice-versa. I don't know of any other band that has such a wide array of positive opinions about them... although they also carry a massive amount of hate.
  4. While I agree on the whole moaning about Valentine's Day at the end of the song (that's what ruins the song for me IMO), up until that point the lyrics are beautiful. To be honest, I don't interpret the song as "being alone on a Valentine's Day" at all. I think it's deeper than that, but that's just me. ^^ to the member above, I see we have very similar thoughts on this subject.
  5. Hold on. Just so we're clear, I'm not a Meteora basher what-so-ever. In fact, I think it's better than Hybrid Theory, and very arguably the best album LP has made so far. There are songs on there like Faint and Figure.09 that completely dominate Minutes To Midnight, there's no denying it. In many ways, it's a much better album than MTM, especially with the massive amounts of energy each song brings to the table, and it's much more complex instrumentally IMO than Hybrid Theory. My only gripe with it are some of the songs have poor lyrics, that hold back the rest of the album. Since I forgot to quote, this is mainly in response to spraypaintinkpens
  6. You wanna explain our delusion further? This could be interesting. EDIT: ^^ I agree with that note.
  7. Stop right there. Somewhere I Belong and good lyrics do not belong in the same sentence. The chorus is just cringe-worthy, and the rest of the song falls well below average, even by Linkin Park standards. Numb is also far too general and "teenager problem-centric" to be great lyric-wise. Faint, while being my favourite track from Meteora, and possibly my favourite song from the band, is also not so great. It's saving grace is the fact that the lyrics flow so well together with the instruments. If you can get past the opinion that Valentine's Day is "Emo", the song has some of the best lyrics in the band's discography! The song paints pictures I tell you! And to be fair, Valentine's Day is in the top 3 worst tracks on the album IMO. But you can't deny the lyrics are beautiful. And while No More Sorrow is probably one of the weakest tracks lyrically on the album, I feel it stands better than 90% of HT and Meteora. At least you aren't saying things like "Runaway and One Step Closer have good lyrics", because that would be ridiculous.
  8. Pretend to Be should definitely be added to this list. No Roads Left was a fighter, but Across The Line is still the best pick here.
  9. Depending on just how "poppy" Blackout's final half is, I'm definitely expecting Wretches And Kings to be the new final song to Linkin Park's latest setlists. The mosh pits will be absolutely insane.
  10. First off, I must say I have always preferred the more Chester-centered songs that Linkin Park has produced such as No More Sorrow and New Divide, and I would definitely class this as a Mike song, in the same stem as Nobody's Listening and High Voltage. Now that that's out of the way, I must say that the beat on this song is absolutely incredible. It's dark, it's dirty, and more importantly, it's edgy. While comparisons of Hybrid Theory and Meteora could easily be made to this song, it still differentiates itself to make a new sound. I would definitely say though, that while I do enjoy Mike's rapping in Dedicated and High Voltage, along with LP's 2 nu-metal albums, I am pretty indifferent to his new "reggae" style here. Maybe it will come to grow on me like his distorted vocals in The Catalyst, but for now his lines are the least attractive part of the song. Chester's vocals on the other hand sound crazy and original. I know I would have loved this song more if he had a more prominent role. This song will blow our minds on stage. I can picture the crowd going absolutely nuts when the opening speech stars (unless they cut straight to the crunching synths). I can also see Chester screaming at certain points to add more energy and edge to the track, especially right before his 2nd chorus, and the outro, which could easily be extended. Thats just my impressions of the track. I will not rate it, along with The Catalyst, until I have fully experienced A Thousand Suns multiple times after release.
  11. So after one listen to the crappy youtube video quality... I'm not too sure what to think. I'm gonna wait until I get my hands on an mp3 to further judge it.
  12. Hahahah yes I know full well that it will leak someway, somehow tomorrow, but I'm at least trying to make the pre-order people feel better about themselves!
  13. Whyyyyy oh why did they have to pick the song I've been anticipating the most? Note to self: Pre-order next time!
  14. High Voltage, shockingly enough, must go... Wow, that was cheesy. -___-
  15. I've made a new setlist. This one is COMPLETELY unrealistic, but just go along with the flow. 1. No More Sorrow (Gacela of the Dark Death mixed into 2009 Intro) 2. Foreword/Don't Stay 3. In the End 4. Points of Authority (Dedicated Intro/Blackbirds Outro) 5. Blackbirds (Chorus Only) 6. Given Up (Short Outro) 7. What I've Done (AMBO Intro) 8. High Voltage 9. Pushing Me Away/P5hng Me A*wy Medley (Transitions after Bridge) 10. With You (2004 Intro) 11. Numb (Acoustic) 12. Figure.09/From the Inside Medley 13. Announcement Service Public 14. Across the Line 15. QWERTY (SS06 Version) 16. Breaking the Habit (Piano Intro/Blends into) 17. The Catalyst 18. A Place for My Head (Extended Bridge) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19. No Roads Left 20. Papercut 21. Bleed It Out (All Extenders) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22. One Step Closer (2007 Intro/Reanimated Bridge Ft. J Davis/2009 Outro) 23. Faint (Demo Verses/Demo Bridge into Normal Bridge/Extended Outro) Yummy.
  16. Awwww no way! That was no doubt my favourite part of the album! Condemned itself was kinda weak in comparison to almost any heavy LP song, and definitely not my favourite DBS song, but the screaming at the end is awesome! It's just so different and edgy from Chester's regular screams.
  17. I'm sooooo glad that In Pieces won. I really used to think it was MtM's sleeper hit, and very under-appreciated amongst most LP fans. I guess I was proven wrong.
  18. The Little Things... In Pieces deserves the victory!!!
  19. Pretty sure this is the complete opposite of "romance". Definitely about getting over a break-up. But yes, the song is great!
  20. After watching the ROTW last week I reallllllllly enjoyed the performance from Webster Hall 2007. Another one that sticks out in my mind is Summer Sonic 06. The way Chester moves his mic towards and away from his mouth during the final scream is just sick. EDIT: Oh yes, and I can't forget the Smoke Out 2003 performance. I think that was the first official playing of the song, and Chester was really emotional singing it. He could barely make it through the last chorus. Sends chills down my spine every time.
