This sounds so much better than the snippet. Phone recording of a clip played over a PA aside, this one sounds much more punk rock than punk pop. As much as I hate the “MaKe aNoThEr HyBrId tHeOrY” people, I’d love a more rock-sided pop album from Mike in the same way Hybrid Theory balances the pop/hip-hop electronics with rock.

The biggest problem with the mixing on THP is that it’s all over the place. KTTK and AFN are great, GATS is awful, Wastelands sounds like it was mixed for Meteora then redone for MTM and half of the songs sound somewhat empty.

The videos are geo-locked, so they won’t be available until their time zone aligns

Just checked out the 2002 mix of Lost - the sampled beats are in the foreground so much more, with the electronic sounds suppressed more. Guitar rhythm is more noticeable and distorted sounding. Everything about it is clearly Meteora and Andy Wallace aha

It’s 95% the Faint Demo from LPU 9 which is also on this release. There has to be another version they could have put on this, with or without Chester.

Some big disappointments on the lost demos - SPOILERS PS - Resolution is NOT a demo of Lost PPS - Live In Texas is still censored, Nottingham is not

Maybe not a completely re-recorded and mastered track, but something in “proof of concept” stages like “hey, these songs work well together” but they went for the six on the EP as the final set. It’s implausible that from Jays catalogue at the time, there wasn’t at least one other hit that would make a great mashup with a hit from LPs catalogue. Certainly unlikely they ever finished or recorded another track in the studio, but surely Mike fooled around with some other mixes.

The best bit was Healing Foot being “released” on my birthday 😂 It would be something wouldn’t it - imagine a new mashup that didn’t make the EP 🤯 I have to believe there’ll be at least new merch for it, but I’d be AMAZED if there’s anything else

Actually blown away by “Just drag it out, remember “ being a Numb demo Amazed they didn’t put it on the demo CD, seeing as we already have demos of songs they’re giving us new demos of and have never given us a Numb demo (or Don’t Stay, or Nobody’s Listening)

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if all the Lost Demos have vocals, same as the Forgotten Demos on HT20
