Really ? I fucking love that song. My onlyminor issue is that I wish the ending was a bit more "natural" and less exagerated. Chester would have loved the song

Two Faced.

Casualty, Ilike it more than I did on the firts few listens but it's still a sort of blend of some of my least fav songs by the band (KTTK, War and Victimized). Fun little song but I don't think I will come back to it a lot in a few years

To me is really close between the 2 but now Casualty is more engaging because Mike does something he NEVER did before, that yelled singing, so unique and I really like Emily's crying/whispering "it's only a matter of time", it's something we didn't hear from LP since Meteora

HITC, I like it but the fact that it's EXACTLY Faint with Given Up bridge is not something I am a big fan of. One thing is hinting/paying homage to another of your songs like Two Faced does or TEM does or CTB, another thingi s that you can literally sing Faint verses over HITC

The rest of the song is okay, the instrumental is really fun with these big "TUM TUM" but that second partof the chorus from "pretend you're spotless ...." is really my lest fav thing of the whole record

It would have been my n. 1 pick forever since the first round if I voted. The song sounds like a Post Traumatic b-side with an early 2010-ish Rihanna/Avril Lavinge chorus that is reeeeally not my thing. Very forgettable

Stained

One of their most underrated songs, I love it.

Scratch on soft songs is LP signature 100%, it's SO unique.

She is amazing, the song is the song but she NEVER tries to imitate Chester, she does her own thing. It's like a new version of the song

TEM and HITC are there on top with Friendly Fire. The rest of the top 5 is Thirty Seconds to Mars latest record I used to jam to a lot in early 2024

It has some of the dark nu metal feel of that song with the whispering etc... it's not a tight comparison, I mean it's not as close as Figure 09 or the CTB- BIO or Faint - HITC, but it has that kind of vibe. It's like Overflow feeling TS-ish without being preciselt comparable to a specific ATS song

Yeah Two Faced reminds me of Figure 09 and By Myself but it has strong HTEP/Xero vibes. The comparison with OSC is not very on point because I get the OSC mirroring in the bridge and the main riff but the rest sounds nothing like OSC lol, it has rap verses and the chorus melody is totally different

I bet it's a sort of mirroring lyrics, a reference. Lyrically the album is one of their weakest TBH, kinda formulaic and repetitive, but hey, sonically is amazing

Yeah Stained is an easy skip for me, feels like I'm listening to a Rihanna/Katy Perry 2010 song... not my thing. And yeah I love GTG but it's a little bit melodramatic, Emily's part before the final " sometimes bad things take the place when good things go" is al little too melodramatic, like the song you would put as soundtrack for a romantic movie... sometimes less is more

I saw Nothing but thieves, Blink 182, Sum 41 and LP for like 80 € back in 2017, lol. 500$ for a ticket is crazy

The album is strong but my fear is will it stand the test of time ? Will I be listening to, say, Stained or OEO (my least fav songs) in 5 years ? I mean, THP is my least fav record by the band but I still do enjoy listening even to my least fav songs off of it from time to time after a decade, I hope it will be the case of FZ too. So far I try to calm my hype for a new LP record and I stay on a 7/10. Super solid record, I never thought we would see a new LP album in the first place, not to mention i did not expect it to be THAT good and that big, so it'as already a dream.

In other news the album sold more than 250k worldwide first week, we are on the level of THP and OML, amazing results. A rock band almost 20 years past their “golden age” comes back without their iconic singer and they go Top 3 in almost every country in the world. We are so back
