In 2012 LP did 4 shows in Brazil. At first, the venues were in São Paulo, Rio, Curitiba and Porto Alegre. The Curitiba show was cancelled a few weeks after the start of selling tickets, i think it wasn't doing well. Then they added another show in Rio, which basically had the same people on audience both days. In Porto Alegre it was supposed to be at an football (soccer) stadium, for 25000 people i think. Again, a few weeks after the selling started, they changed it to a closed venue for 10000 people. (They didn't expect the people that was going to Curitiba would go to Porto Alegre, so they could've fit those 25k easily). After that, until now, they did just a few shows per time in south america. I guess they got scared about how the numbers were low. LP is fucking big here in Brazil, but mostly it comes from the casual audience... the people that know the hits playing on radio. Those aren't the ones that go to the show. At least here, LP is a band that brings only the people that really knows them, there are a lot of casuals and they don't attend the concert. In 2004 they filled the Morumbi stadium. 70000 people i think (could be wrong). LP can do lots of shows in South America and sold out them all, but they need to be on mainstream even if just a little, so the casual people goes to the concerts as well.

I can see they promoting this album a lot. I don't think they will release anything out of nowhere. They need better marketing/advertising this time. So maybe at the first week of january they will announce the single to be released at the last week of that month. And then the album at march or something like that.

I don't know. Maybe andrewgoldstein, as his twitter.

I feel like there's room to one more south american show. But i guess they wont do it. Brazil could have another one, but maybe they come back at RIR.

I've been listening to some radio stations lately, and i'm a little scared. There are too many "Coca-cola songs" out there, right now. I mean, they aren't bad... but they are so simple and repetitive. I really don't want LP to go on this pop up-beat vibe, Imagine Dragons style. This kind of music won't be remembered a few years from now. Well, i don't know what to expect about this album. We're thinking this is gonna be a chill one, but in fact the band never really said that. I just hope it ain't no coca-cola music.

Well, if there aren't more shows in Brazil... there will be some shows in another South American countries. As Hahninator said, this 6th to 13th gap is pretty big.
-
Well, somebody should take a flag to the show written "When you come to Brazil?". The thing is, they going only to São Paulo is like all Europe having just 1 show. I, for example, have to travel 1000km to get there.
-
Put some more information on the post, please. On the may 6th the show will be in Buenos Aires, AR. And on 13th in São Paulo. I'm hoping for more shows in Brazil. This is an immense country, just one show will not do for everyone.

Create an Album using Linkin Park Underground Songs
vinifeijo replied to RiderSSPU's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Impressive how much people like Pale. Actually, it's no so impressive, this is a great song. -
Before coming to South America, the album must be released and we should hope it got some #1 hits. Then they could come down here and have more public to watch.

I feel betrayed about Burberry (Space Station). If they are saying it's from 2015, then they could be wrong about all the others demo too.

Isn't the LPU release date promoted with some antecedence? Or they just drop the content from nowhere? I can't remember about the last years.

About the lyrics... Sometimes we don't think about how hard it's for an artist to write personal lyrics. It's about their lives! We forget they are people and have their own families, problems, sickness.... but it's not easy to talk about it. You know, it's hard to talk about your problems to someone close to you, now imagine writing a song that all the world will hear. They have to lose the shame and learn to open their hearts. That's not easy. Sometimes you fear to expose too much, and fear what people will think about that.

Very short notice, ain't it?

I just noticed in this picture Goldstein is on Reddit! We may be able to get some AMA with him.

I guess they're not releasing any updates just to not drag away attention from LPUXVI. December may be the month where the hype really beggins.

Could someone explain to me why they don't play in Spain? I remember just the Madrid show in 2010.
-
Haven't they done a No Roads Left version with Chester's vocal on it? If so, i want it.

Most Disappointing Thing LP Has Ever Done For You
vinifeijo replied to Geki's topic in Everything Linkin Park
Not the most disappointing, but that GATS video partnership with project spark was a major fail. That song deserved a proper video. -
I'm searching it, but i guess i'm mistaken. I remember seeing a video with "top 10 worst guitar solo ever", and there was one from Brad. It wasn't a solo, but somekind of improvisation, very cringy. And i thought it was in Live 8.
-
The album news cycle is just awesome, i can't wait for it to start for real. Having GATS released suddenly was cool, but i enjoy much more when there's hype to build. I really hope they do some kind of puzzle, treasure hunt, ARG... it's always fun to unite the fandom like that. Both The Catalyst and Burn It Down puzzles were cool, releasing little individual sounds from the songs.

The one thing i remember about this show is a horrible improvisation by the guitar god Brad Delson.

What are the best ones? And why LP doesn't create more cool stages, with more architectonic work there? It's almost always just a black clean stage with some big screen in the background. I bet it's to "just focus on the music, the stage doesn't matter", but LP always has been a band very connected with the aesthetics. I can't recall many special stages design. I remember that at some show they played in a 360º stage or something like that. At the Living Things World Tour they added some flamethrowers used during Burn It Down. At the Carnivores Tour they used those interactive screens on the structures they stood on. There was even that moving "cage" during Joe's and Mike's solo (i'm not sure). You guys are the ones that know everything about live appearances, so which are the best stages design?

I envy European and North-American fans. So much options to choose from, and maybe the option to go on more than one show. But we from the rest of the world must wait 5 years and select the closest option (usually more than 500km away). And won't Metallica be touring around this time of the year, too?
