Another LP news update for you guys... Phoenix recently gave an interview with SMNnews, hitting the subjects of time off, RtR, the new album, future touring plans, his name preference, beard and more, including another squash of the Timbaland rumor. Below are some high points of the interview. You can find the full interview here and thanks to April for finding this! SMN: Fun. Enjoying your time off? Phoenix: Absoutely. We toured through mid-September in the US, so we’ve just been taking some time off, and come November we’ll be back working on the new record. I’m enjoying being home, kicking back and just doing some promotion for the Road to Revolution CD/DVD. SMN: In terms of your writing for the new album do you have a preference for how you want to sit down and get it hammered out? Phoenix: Well, we are done writing at this point. We had a little break in the summer, like 6 weeks at home where we started working on it a lot. We are just waiting to get back in the studio now to begin writing some more and begin recording, there’s still a lot of work to do. Our fans know we are slow writers, but we hope to have less of a layoff with this album. SMN: Do you have a producer in mind? Phoenix: For now, we’ll just have Mike produce it. Potentially other people, but at this stage up it is up in the air. SMN: What about Timbaland? Phoenix: He is not on the radar. SMN: That also makes sense…so, Milton Keynes…fantastic venue, fantastic crowds - why there for the DVD? Phoenix: We knew going in to the show we were recording it, we knew it was gonna be a special show for us and we figured it would be something we really like the rest of the world to see. Having seen the footage and the largest Project Revolution show abroad, it made sense to edit it and put it out. We always have our own video guy, Mark, who does our internet stuff and website video editing and capturing - we have him film it all. For Milton Keynes, we had a full crew, and a full on shoot. SMN: Right on. Any nifty behind the scenes DVD easter eggs you can tell me about? Phoenix: There’s surprises in there. At his point there’s a ton of stuff to still be put together. We haven’t figured what’s included yet. The best way to keep up to date on that, is linkinpark.com - that’s gonna have up to the minute info. SMN: Touring: tell me more - US/UK, what’s the plans? More festival type gigs, smaller venues, what’s what? Phoenix: Right now, we finished in the September. The touring cycle ended for Minutes to Midnight, and there’s literally not one show on the calendar. We are purely back in the studio and are going to write and focus on the new record. Having said that I wouldn’t be surprised, next summer we’ll do some shows and if we were to do that, it would be Europe.

It was, but of course a stupid cliffhanger. But the way the music was throughout the show was very nice. Just depends on if you like that sort of thing (meaning the show).

I disagree...I take that to mean "new" as in it was created for LPU8 or anything for the new album/new things not known about. I think b-sides could be quite possible. Because b-sides aren't new...they're old because they are already known to exist/appear to exist. I don't consider them "new material." I do agree though on the wait and see part...only time will tell...

^ Brad is probably off sleeping somewhere...LOL... In all seriousness, they've wrote in different groups like this before. It's not all that unusual.

Over the past 48 hours, we've been hard at work doing some massive forum housekeeping. Some of you might be aware of this already, but for those who aren't, this housekeeping has included: * Fixing broken links: All the links that were fixable by the staff have now been fixed. Of all the links on the forums, approximately 80% of them were broken after the change in forums. We were able to fix most of these, as there are now only about 10-15% of all the links still missing/not working. To fix these few links, it is going to require users that posted those links to edit them. If you have posted a link that is still missing/broken, please help us out by re-pasting in the missing link. Please do this by editting your existing post rather than double posting. If you find any missing/broken links that you cannot fix, please let us know about that here and we will take a look at it. * Cleaning up the quotes: As many of you probably noticed, when we switched forums, any quotes made before the change were a tad screwball. We have cleaned these up in all of the forums, including removing the random codes that appeared at the end of them. All quotes should now be cleaned up. If you see any that might have been missed or still look a tad off, please let us know about those here and we'll fix that. * Emoticons, Images, Youtube videos, etc: Many of the images and emoticons in posts before the change were messed up during the switch. We tried to fix all of these that needed to be/could be fixed. However, some were not because they were just not salvageable, so you might have to edit those on your own as you desire. Like with the links, edit the existing post rather than double posting. * Logging in and staying logged in: This issue was fixed last night. If you are still having trouble with this issue, try cleaning out your cookies and cache. If after doing this you are still having trouble, contact the staff and we'll try to help you. We will continue to fix these and other bugs over the next few days, so bear with us and if you see anything at all that looks off or needs to be fixed, again, let us know about that here. And finally (yes, this novel does have an ending)... In light of this massive forum housekeeping, the change in forums and looking ahead to the future launch of 4.0, we felt it was necessary to bring some order to the forums. We have now adopted the LPLG Forums Rules and Regulations. From this point forward, these rules are now in effect and will be enforced. Please take the time right now to read and familiarize yourself with these rules found here. If you have any questions or concerns about these rules and regulations at any time, please contact the staff. With all this said, there are some exciting things coming in the future of LPL, so stay tuned, and as said many times before, thanks for bearing with us through these transitions!

LPLive Forum/Website Rules - Revised May 18, 2014 We reserve the right to remove any post or user from the LPL forums at any time. If you find a post has been deleted, chances are it violated one or more of the rules below. Repeated violation of these rules may result in the suspension of your account and posting privileges or a permanent ban from the forums. Forum Rules 1. Do not post links to officially released media files or ask others to post such links. See "Media Rules" section below for details. The Shoutbox is NOT off limits to the rules. Posting illegal links in the Shoutbox is convenient but also is not allowed. Do not take official audio and provide a download link. Links to off-site STREAMS (no downloads) are allowed. 2. Please avoid off-topic posting. 3. Flaming or abusing other users or the staff in any way will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Do not harass, threaten or stalk anyone. 4. When copying, reposting, or using any news or other material from another website, please cite the source. 7. Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". This means users should refrain from creating posts with excessive numbers of images, emoticons, too large/too small or colored text. 8. Spam and/or flooding the forums will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Double posting is discouraged, but fine when it is relevant to the thread. 9. Do not impersonate another board member, create alias accounts or create an account specifically for the purpose of provoking other users. 10. If you are suspended for any reason, do not create another account to post on the forums with. This will result in an immediate ban of your accounts and IP address(es). No exceptions. For example, the Circuit City version with live songs from Third Encore is now longer in print and is unavailable to buy. These are allowed to be shared on the forum. * In 5.0, the official sources on show pages are called “Source 0”. See specific rules in regards to what can and can’t be shared. A general rule of thumb is that if it is still available to be bought somewhere online or offline, it cannot be shared. 4. Proshot video: Recorded from television, webcast or other broadcasts. myspace mfr blog. now, i googled the dates and the city and i got this: http://www.bluegrassjournal.com/2008/08/21...november-14-16/ http://news.harmony-central.com/Newp/2008/...15-16-2008.html and this link is part of the second one: http://www.worldunitedmusicfestival.com i'm not sure, if it's correct but yeah. that's what i found, i would like to help and volunteer...not sure if it'd be worth the trip, since it is kinda far from here. Yes, MFR Blog... Yes, it's the last you found...an update to this story was posted here. On their website (World United Music Festival), MFR is listed as a vendor all three of the days (booth selling stuff like PR moreless)...should be fun, so if you're in the area, consider helping out. Should be a blast!

instrumental, crawling, b sides and something else yeah, but i cant see them putting we made it live in it, as Busta Rhymes quit/was kicked off of the tour after an argument with Mike. There could be legal difficulties there! Busta Rhymes DID NOT get into a fight with Mike, and he was NOT kicked off the tour. He was dropped from his record label and had all of his tour funding cut. Exactly! He was cut from his label the second day of Projekt Revolution and two weeks away from his album release date. They tried to work it out, which is why it took a couple of days for him to be dropped from the line-up. He spent the rest of PR trying to get his label issues resolved, instead of performing. But he did NOT get kicked off.
-
Yeah...I completely agree with you on this one...LPU8 was said not to be ALL live songs. That doesn't mean half of it could be or such. Who knows though...time will tell...

LINKIN PARK CANCELS CHINA CONCERTS, MFR STILL DONATES TO EARTHQUAKE RECOVERY October 7, 2008 Linkin Park has been forced to cancel their upcoming Music For Relief Concerts in Mainland China, Macau and Taipei as lead vocalist Chester Bennington has sustained a back injury and is under doctor's orders to refrain from traveling or any physical activities. These funds will benefit post-earthquake reconstruction projects in the Sichuan Province initiated by Chinese Civil Society Organizations. I'll say it one more time... Enough of the flaming/insulting/fighting/etc. QUIT bringing up personal lives', the past, what people have said/done and attacking each other. One, it doesn't accomplish anything, two, it most of the time results in double posting, and three, some people here are really tired of reading it. AND THIS GOES FOR EVERYBODY! Enough already. Let's stay on topic...if you have an opinion, then post it. Love it, hate it, etc. But voice that and move on. If you have nothing to say, then let others voice their opinion. There is once again NO NEED for name calling, insulting remarks, or anything of that nature, so cut it out. From this point forward, anything said of this nature in this topic or any other will get automatic warnings and bans. Let's all be mature and discuss the topic at hand, and QUIT attacking each other. P.S. I really dislike this DVD. I cannot believe they cut the songs they cut. I just do not get this one at all. I don't know that I will be buying it. And as for it being a typo and the full show being on the DVD, I just don't see it. The way this is worded, it looks like this is what it's going to be.

lolyour wrong... they played PSA which is a jay z song for the intro to the LPJZ part of the show in Live Earth back in 2005. your thinking of Announcement Service Public which is on the LPU 6 cd which has NEVER been performed live. and DUDE hit the floor is on Meteora haha =p lol...technically, now you're wrong...lol... That was Live 8, not Live Earth. Live 8 was on July 2, 2005, which is where they performed in Philadelphia with Jay-Z. Live Earth was July 7, 2007 and they performed alone in Japan. But other than that, I believe you're correct...

Happy Birthday! Thanks for all you do! It is more appreciated than you could ever know!
