Here's what needs to happen... If you receive a PM that looks suspicious, please PM me and let me know. Forward the message to me along with the user's name and the site staff will resolve it. Thanks for your assistance on this matter and again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

*Update* Hey guys and gals...just a heads up... If you get an PM in your inbox with a link to "New Forum Rules," DO NOT CLICK IT. It appears to just be a spam link, NOT A VIRUS. However, even though this link appears not to be a virus, it's always good policy not to click on any links in any email or private message that appears to be suspicious. Any major site update, rule change, etc. will be posted in The Newswire. And if you ever receive any other PMs that look suspicious in the future, please report that to the staff ASAP. Thanks!

As some of you might already know, someone very important to the site is celebrating a huge birthday today. Today, May 13, 2009, marks the 18th birthday of site owner Hahninator (Mark)! In honor of your birthday, the staff wanted to take the time to wish you the happiest of birthdays. This is your day - enjoy it to the fullest and may it be everything you could ever hope for and more. And we hope that everyone will join us in wishing not only Hahninator a very Happy 18th Birthday, but also alexlp a Happy 22nd Birthday and Acodemaster a Happy 15th Birthday! Birthday wishes from the staff... Today is the day of our big friend, and site master, Mark (known as Hahninator). I remember when you posted on your first website about our b-day (mine is May 31). It was 2 years ago man, and after fucking 2 years we are still here, working together. Just want to say: You are a great guy and friend, and I'm very thankful for working with you. Enjoy your day, go and meet friends, drink, make this day epic for you. - Felipe _______________________________________________________________________ Mark, wow, 18 already. I remember thinking you were like 23, and then having you tell me, no, I am only 16. Happy Birthday, go out, do lots of fun things that you couldn't do at 17. Make the most of your college years to come. I know you are capable of great things, if LPLive is any indication of your dedication and perseverance. - Jen _______________________________________________________________________ It's hard to believe you're so young, considering all you've accomplished in the last few years. It wasn't long ago when I got an IM from some hyper-active kid wanting to know all about the shows I had. I still get IMs from some hyper-active kid wanting to know all about the shows I have, the difference being he now owns a very successful fan site dedicated to LP! Happy 18th, Mark! - Nick _______________________________________________________________________ Mark, thank you for all your hard work. If you will keep going this way, you'll achieve everything. And looking at the fact that you have already achieved all this at the age of 18, it seems like "everything" is not so far away. - LESTAT _______________________________________________________________________ Hey Mark, you finally made it! Congratulations! I don't really remember when we talked for the first time, but I guess it must have been somehow in 2006. It's awesome to work with you on this project and I'm proud to be a part of it. The passion and energy you put into it is amazing. I didn't get a newspost for my birthday in the last 2 years, so maybe it works out next year... ^^ I hope to see you in Europe this summer, for our kickass road trip. - [AndOne] _______________________________________________________________________ Mark HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY MAN!!!! Welcome to the club man haha. As hopping on the bandwagon, thank you for providing a site where everyone who loves LP can come and discuss everything LP related! It's been an honor to be a mod for the forums, and your dedication to this site is to be commended. Heres to today and future birthdays! Live it up tonight with 10 Years tonight man. See you up here in VA when PR rolls around again! - LPxDC (lilIverson09) _______________________________________________________________________ Hey, happy BDay! I'm not very good at wishes, so not gonna write a lot. I hope you will spend great time in Europe on LP shows! I'm very glad to be part of this great website! Thanks for giving me this awesome opportunity to work with all these great people in here - SergSlim ________________________________________________________________________ Well, my dear friend Mark, congratulations I'm very happy having a friend like you, there's no words to describe your friendship. Now go get drunk, get laid and thanks for let me be part of this great site. - Joe_LP

^^ Even if you submitted it first, you still need to post it in the correct forum (Got News?) or even in a related topic rather than an unrelated topic like he pointed out. If you have a further question, problem or concern with this, PM me. Now, let's please get back on topic.

Straight from the LPU: The title of Linkin Park's new song is "New Divide." As most of you have heard, it is the theme song and lead single from the upcoming movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The song will premiere on radio worldwide on May 18 and will also be available for download on iTunes that same day! In addition to writing the theme song for the movie, Linkin Park are contributing to the score of the movie. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen opens in the theaters on June 24 and the soundtrack hits stores on June 23. "The opportunity to be creatively involved with one of the most anticipated films of the summer is pretty exciting," says Mike Shinoda. "It's one thing to shoot a video that matches sound and vision, but making music that's built for the big screen is a completely different challenge and we ran with it. Be on the lookout for details regarding where you can catch the radio premiere, see the video and maybe even some surprises! Thanks to Adam, the LPU and LP management for getting this information released!

^^ No, it appears legit...Chris and Vicky's twitters are official and have been featured on news stories and such. A couple of days ago, Vicky sent a tweet to Chris letting him know "The Benningtons are now on Twitter." That said, I'm pretty positive this for once is legit.

^^ Right...you beat me to it...and even once you do get out of a contract, sometimes it's hard to just walk away clean-break from it...so much red tape and more. It'll be interesting to see what does end up happening at the end of those 2-3 years. As for this, I can understand SoB's frustrations, but as it was pointed out already, I'm sure Mike did what he could and not at the expense of himself. For them to get their album from Warner is a feat and I'm sure Mike helped with that in some shape, form or fashion. Ultimately, I think it just ended up being a series of unfortunate events for all parties involved.

*Semi-Off Topic* Additionally, the flaming is going to stop by everyone as well. Anything considered flaming or uncalled for is going to be set invisible or deleted...so be forewarned. If you don't want your post deleted, then don't post something offensive to begin with. There is more coming on this in the next day or so as well. *Now back on topic* Happy belated birthday Adam! Hope it was splendid!

Due to a whole bunch of arguing, personal insults and more in this thread and due to the fact that this has now passed, this thread is now going to be closed. Please think before you post in the future and do not attack each other. Voice your opinions and/or have meaningful debate and discussion without making it personal. If you have any problems with this or concerns, please PM me. Thanks.

Yep...it was quite a hysterical chat last night...they all are super nice and really interactive with everyone. If you've not taken a chance to drop in on one of the chats, you should. You won't regret it...unless you have to get up really early the next morning, lol....

Rather than start WWIII on this topic, bottom line is LP news is slow and therefore if something newsworthy comes up with a band related to LP, then it shall be posted as it has always been. Posting such news is not something new on this site and will continue to be so. This is the staff's decision and that's the bottom line. They'll be no more arguing over what is newsworthy and what is not and that shall end it. If you would like to discuss this issue further, then PM me over it. Keep it off the forum and quit trying to start a fight...and that goes for everyone - staff included. Now back to the original topic please...
-
Yeah, this has been a big deal on the news here...I didn't realize this was tied to LP though when it happened...this guy lives/this happened like 3 1/2 hours from where I live...kind of scary to think about and truly a shame....
