Based on shows I've actually been too my favorite venues have been: The Woodlands Pavilion (beautiful venue and great sound), Madison Sqaure Garden (because it's MSG), Toyota Center (great security and a lovely hotel nearby for bathroom needs), and Best Buy Theater (small venue, food everywhere, great spot)

Least favorite: Gexa Energy Pavilion (dirty and unorganized), Planet Hollywood (would not let us sit and very unorganized) and Jones Beach (no pit section).

From proshots and stuff, I'd love to go to a Rock am Ring show or a South American show. Milton Keyes had a cool looking venue too.

I feel like this will just turn into favorite shows, not venues haha.

lol I tried not to do that in my answer.

What do you guys consider a good venue? I like getting pit tickets, so I'll usually be hanging outside the venue a lot and barely see the inside when I sprint to the pit :P

But things like security, food/bathroom nearby, comfortable place to sit (if you can sit), how organized the venue is about WHERE to line up, the stage (intimate or not), and I guess if you get seats you'll wonder about maybe food inside the venue and how well you can see from the seats.

Planet Hollywood was a HORRIBLE venue because even though food/bathroom was close and we were inside, we had to stand the whole time (14hrs for me) and then they messed up pit entrance so people who were there only a few hours got in front of those who were in front of me. Saying that Vegas was one of my favorite SHOWS performance wise.

So what do you guys like about a venue, or do you not care?

although, I would hate to be at the back

So what do you guys like about a venue, or do you not care?

in terms of club shows I like places with balconies or bits where parts of the floor are raised up so you can see from the back if you're late. It's nice to have a few barriers/railings around (even if they're not down the front) so you can lean if you're there for a long time - my back muscles are shit at doing what they're meant to for too long and I kind of have to find a spot to relax for a bit between bands.

I dislike pillars in venues with a vengeance, and I'm starting to really get bored of the pit thing - if I'm seeing a band for the first time, I quite like watching them, and keeping that in my memory, not a blurred/squashed recollection of "ugh, that girl with her elbow in my face all night". I'll go stand in the sweat if I know I can see the band again. I like watching a band play - it's front row or balcony for me these days... that said, standing (not down front) at a stadium show is still ace: Twickenham, Lady Ga Ga - judge away - was one of the best shows I went to in 2012.

Lady Ga Ga @ Twickenham (pitch standing)

Linkin Park @ Sonisphere UK (front row)

pretty much every 'Roots show I go to (intimate shows rule)

Alexisonfire @ Rock City (two rows from the front)

^^ in order of "wow, that was good"

In terms of places I have been to see LP... Madison Square Garden, Verizon Wireless Arena (Manchester, NH) & the Tweeter Center in Mansfield have all been excellent places. Least favorite places I saw LP had to have been Mohegan Sun, TD Bank Arena and the New York State Fair. The New York State Fair sucked because no one there had any idea about PR and because the pit was HUGE so it was a bitch trying to get front row, it was very unorganized. Mohegan Sun just sucked since it was in a huge Casino and the security were assholes. TD Bank Arena because it was frigid outside, it was the middle of a huge northeast blizzard and it like below 0 degrees, and they made us stay outside even LONGER than we were supposed to. Arena was ok I guess.

Now, for places I haven't seen LP, I liked Milton Keynes, The Roxy Theatre, The Mayan Theater.

I'm not just saying this because I've seen LP there 3 times...Blossom Music Center is a REALLY cool venue. It looks like a big cheese wedge stuck in the ground...or a UFO landing, depending on the angle!

It's also surrounded by some BEAUTIFUL scenery in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I love the way the area looks in the fall:

wow, Blossom hill is cool!

I also liked wantagh Jones Beach. purely from how it looks though, I'm sure it gets windy and cold as hell out there :P

there are no similar amphitheater-style venues in the UK that I can think of, festivals either happen in sports stadiums, indoor arenas or big fields...

for example, I saw LP here -

Knebworth House itself was just the backstage area, everyone else was out on the grounds :P http://www.whtimes.co.uk/polopoly_fs/cpg_4.../2382605985.jpg

Favorite venues, hmm. Ferropolis in Grafenhainichen in 2009 was fucking sweet.

Since LP came on in the day time, they had lights on the "transformers" (what we called them haha, the big machinery there) that started with the WID Ambo Intro. That was a really sweet venue. One tiny road in and it's surrounded by water.

Jiffy Lube Live this past summer was a cool US venue. On top of a huge hill, sightlines are great, the place was just packed and it was a very enjoyable day there. Or two days actually. I was really excited to see Jones Beach but I wasn't that big of a fan due to the shitty weather and us being so tired.

I really liked ''Parque da Bela Vista'' in Lisboa, Portugal since both shows @ Rock in Rio (2008 + 2012)

looked so damn great.

While 2012 had such a loud crowd which was just amazing and epic...great venue for LP to play imo !

I also really enjoyed listening to the shows @ Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California...especially the Projekt Rev 2004 + 2008 shows.

And of course the show @ Admiralspalast in Berlin last year with such a sweet crowd and small venue ^^

my choice is a bit Strange/Extreme but i always want to see show that totally different from what we hears from the band all the last 13 years.

MTV Unplugged (this is the Starnge part)

Collaboration With Orchestra (like

for example) in venue that looks like the Coliseum (this is the Extreme part)

my point is, there's a good venues. there's bad. there's a good shows. there's bad. but we didn't see surprising ones (Yet?).

These aren't venues... MTV Unplugged is the show where the event is held. And it's not the most amazing venue either. The second one isn't even a place.

and what is your point? that if we are talking about something so we must not deviate from the subject in any way? do you have any plan to sue someone about it? <_ grow up.>

you must to learn what the differences between ADD to the conversation and between STRAY from the conversation.

and if you have something to add about what bothering you - don't do it here, it's not the place.

lol. I never said anything about what you just said. Part of your previous post is a collaboration, which is not what we're talking about here. Were talking about venues, not things we want LP to do like play MTV Unplugged.
