The second-to-last show (the fourth out of five) of the LIVING THINGS South American Tour takes place at Citibank Hall in Rio de Janeiro. Linkin Park has actually played this city and venue before....TWO DAYS AGO on the 8th actually!! Haha! This will be night two of a two night stand at the venue for LP, with a rare off day coming in between these two shows (see below for more information). Show number one on the 8th (show page here) got REALLY good reviews from both fans and the LP crew.

Originally on the 10th, the band was set to play Estádio Durival de Brito in Curitiba, Brazil, but on September 10th the band changed their South American Tour up a little bit by canceling that show and adding a second night in Rio, and canceling Porto Alegre on the 11th and adding a new show in Porto Alegre at a new venue on the 12th.

Two night stands (headlining) are pretty rare for Linkin Park, with them only performing twelve since 2000: (plus one THREE night stand in 2003)

- March 2003: Closing out the LPU Tour with two shows at the Wiltern in LA for the Meteora release

- October 2003: Their only THREE night stand, the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo

- October 2007: Auckland's Vector Arena, Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena, & Sydney's Entertainment Centre

- November 2007: Saitama Super Arena Chou-ku in Tokyo

- January 2008: London's O2 Arena to close the Winter European Tour

- March 2008: Two nights at The Joint @ Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas

- November 2010: London's O2 Arena to close the European Tour, with the first LPU Summit

- December 2010: Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena and Sydney's Acer Arena (but 11th and 15th, not back-to-back)

- September 2011: Tokyo's Makuhari Messe for the 5th LPU Summit

- October 2012: Rio de Janeiro, the first two night stand in South America

The 2010 Sydney Acer Arena shows were not back-to-back - one coming before a two night stand in Melbourne and one coming after. That tour was the only time the band has ever headlined two nights in one venue on the same tour NOT on back-to-back days.....until now. Yes Sydney had shows in between but this is a rare case of an off day coming in the middle of a two night stand - Rio on the 8th and Rio on the 10th.

Show number one in Rio featured US Set B, meaning so far on this tour these have been the setlists:

Buenos Aires - US Set B

São Paulo - US Set A

Rio de Janeiro (Night 1) - US Set B

US Set C has yet to make an appearance on this tour and Brazil has had both A and B, so maybe C is coming at Citibank Hall for night 2? Thoughts? Chester at the first show in Rio sang part of 'Crawling' a capella mid-set (due to the crowd chanting for it throughout the show) so it makes you wonder if he might sneak in part of 'Castle Of Glass' a cappella somewhere since the video is coming out today. Thoughts on that? Hmm...... Here's a video of what went down in Rio:

Who from LPLive is headed to the show? Night 1 was sold out but currently night 2 is NOT sold out, at least yet. However, I'm sure the Brazilian crowd will be absolutely crazy yet again (that's a good thing).

After this show, the band closes the South American Tour in Porto Alegre on the 12th at Gigantinho. After that, only two shows are left in 2012 for the band (unless they make an appearance at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas show or something) - the South African shows in November.
