Just say you don't like linkin park, it's not a crime. You don't have to find wild reasons to justify the fact that you don't like it. seems like the crime its to discuss anything lol Quote

I think Emily has a great edge to her voice that shines on heavier songs. Getting something riffy and heavy like The Hunting Party with more polished production would be my dream for this iteration of the band. I’m right there with you. I don’t need to say anything. This is my wish also. Quote

"The song is 100% LP" yeah because it sounds exactly like HT,M, MTM or ATS, just sayin', right ? People throwing shit at OML 8 years ago as if it was dogshit was OK, now if you don't like a song "you don't like LP"... come on Yeah you are right my bad they sound like Paramore, you know women... While I agree that the constant comparisons of LP 2.0 with Paramore are stupid (because it is a frontwoman now...), the song in question has a certain Paramore feel to it musically, too. Just chiming in, no judgment, commence on bashing your heads in. Quote

Just chiming in, no judgment, commence on bashing your heads in. I mean Up from the bottom has many flavours and punk is one of those (not necessarily in the front, but definitely in the background) but I doubt many people would make the connection to Paramore if it was sung by Chester. Alternative rock/punk is not just Paramore, hundreds of bands. Overall the song has almost all the traits that makes you think of Linkin Park. If UFTB was released by another band people would say they copied/tributed Linkin Park, certainly not Paramore. Quote

(UFTB) I love Paramore too but that means nothing so it's really dumb tbh. Hayley Williams is a phenomenal singer so Mike could ask her to try and sing UFTB in the same style of Emily and she's good enough to pull it off probably. But Emily and Hayley don't sing the same way at all. If Hayley would sing UFTB in her own way it wouldn't sound like the Linkin Park version. If Emily would sing a paramore song in a style that suits her best it would not sound like the Paramore song. Women singers don't sound all the same, just like men singers don't sound all the same. You wrote something like "Billie Joe Armstrong could sing Smells like teen spirit and it would sound the same as Kurt Cobain singing it". Quote

If somebody says Battle Symphony or In Between, its more likely they dont like that style as its realy different from LP core sound Quote
Heavyman39 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I would go down the Two Faced, The Emptiness Machine route and add breakdowns and play around more with the guitars. Make them more distinctive, more interesting. I don't mean solos, but rather riffs and song structures like on The Hunting Party, but without crazy experiments into genres other than rock and metal. DCrecelius Posted June 30 Posted June 30 From Zero tour is officially over and you know what that means!!! CHOO CHOO ALL ABOARD THE LP9 HYPE TRAIN Quote
Soeffingnaive92 Posted July 1 Posted July 1 (edited) LP9 to me is where they will show if they have the energy and the "meaning" to go on. Like, FZ served to put them back on the map with very familiar sounding songs that recalled specific other songs and sounds by the band, almost every song directly reminded of a sound/a specific song from the past (TEM - ALITS + COG, CTB - BIO, HITC - FAINT + GU, CASUALTY- KTTK/WAR, Overflow - ATS atmosphere + PT sounds, IGYEIH - Xero/HT demos, Two Faced - Figure 09+ OSC, OEO - BS/IBG, GTG - Where'd you go, ...) and now we'll see if they are moving forwad with new sounds or will stick into safe ground. Even the latter would be totally understandable since it's only the 2nd album of the new course and even Meteora was a sort of HT2.0 wityh some diversity. Personally, I expect an hybrid of things, like, not FZ 2.0 but not an ATS album in concept, like, very weird and left field Edited July 1 by Soeffingnaive92 Quote
LPLStaff Posted July 1 Posted July 1 With so many off days on the tour, there's no telling how much new material Mike and co recorded in Europe, much less the entire world tour. They've also been in the studio throughout the tour, but that could have been work on Unshatter's score or something too. Quote

And I cannot even imagine how many Mike - only / MIke with other vocalists / Mike + Emily demos are lying in their "graveyard" as Chester called it in the MTM making of.... like, 3/4 years of work Quote

A brand new take of pop-rock sound with a bit of edgier guitar and melody. FZ was great as a comeback album, plenty of familiar sounds and structure. I hope LP9 will be the band's new identity - allowing Colin to lend vocals (maybe) in future LP music, being creative and continue to write amazing songs. Quote
Cesar656 Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Honestly for me a FZ2 would be awesome, the album has no skippable tracks, so good Quote

The outro is timeless. But that's the thing about them I guess. Quote
RYG4R Posted July 4 Posted July 4 I will give them a chance to get another shot of OML sound. It's their best sounding album, imo. The aesthetic is gorgeous. Just remove the chipmunk sound and we're good. Quote
