  1. If a LP fan did not want to spend money on Papercuts because he/she was only interested in Friendly Fire and QWERTY then this vinyl is a great opportunity to have them both and own a very rare release. If I had not bought Papercuts I would have definitely bought this one. Also it's limited to just 1000 copies so whoever bought this owns something that is potentially worth much more.
  2. Come on this is not true. Even the studio version is clearly nu metal. Given up, no more sorrow and bleed it out (the 3 heaviest songs on MTM) don't sound like QWERTY at all. MTM has a lot of different genres in it so QWERTY could fit like any other song but the only specific imposed by LP of a MTM song is to not be "Nu metal" so QWERTY clearly fails that requirements. There's too much continuity with the past in QWERTY to fit in an album that wants to break from the past so bad.
  3. Linkin Park left QWERTY out of Minutes to Midnight because MtM was supposed to be an album that was different from their past sound. In their minds probably there was no place for QWERTY (which is nu metal, their last nu metal song) on an album that was made to be a break point. Of course you can put QWERTY on every LP album (maybe not OML lol) and it would fit musically because LP albums are always multifaceted and not constrained to a single genre. But I can see why having QWERTY on MTM was conceptually wrong. It's not always just about the music but also what that music means to an artist. Also playing the song live months before the release of the album when they were still a long way from finishing it probably meant that they had already decided that QWERTY was not right for MTM. Of course Linkin Park loves QWERTY otherwise they would not have played it live in Japan. They brought the song back from time to time because they were aware of the fact that it was a fan favourite.
  4. So far the song has been performing similar to Fighting Myself, maybe a little better. Fighting myself is close to 60 millions after less then a year. I think we can expect Friendly fire to close 2024 with around 50 millions if it keeps going well
  5. The band reworked on Friendly Fire recently (2023 I guess) even if we don't know to which extent it was changed. So we don't know what the 2017 version sounded like. According to the band this version sounds better.
  6. "Looks very cash grabby to do something like that when you have the press and fans running wild about "unreleased song featuring Chester Bennington vocals" combined with the fact the band and label are both VERY aware the LP fans collect every single item with the band's name on it." Isn't that plain and simple supply and demand dynamics? I'm not a compulsive buyer and I think I'm responsable with my money. I'm going to buy the cd version because that is my preferred choice and I don't care what other people can afford to buy (if they can buy it all good for them, they do what they want with their money, and if they can't buy anything there's still free streaming). It feels like a lot of you are discovering capitalism recently or acts naive. What you are talking about (the fact that the band has always been meticulous about every single release and that there weren't X different version of the same thing) belongs to the past of the music industry. The trend is going in this direction for some time and there's not much you can do about it other than not buy everything like a maniac. The music industry is pushing is that direction to resurrect a little bit physical media and we all know that. Also a greatest hits type of release has never been something that is renowned for being special in its attention to detail/care and almost always the band is not even remotely involved in it. This is a greatest hits release and compared to the standard compilation it's not bad at all imo.
  7. I don't think so. 2023 was a good year for LP fans with Meteora20. I don't think wb would plan two "major" release in the same year, They only did that in 2003 and 2017 with a live album following studio album, and I think that was little different from this. Especially because meteora20 and papercuts have the same marketing strategy (new unreleased lp with chester) so wb would want a little time to pass between the two. I'm honestly surprised papercuts came so soon. The fact that the title says 2023 instead of 2024 I think is delibarate. These releases and their campaign are planned way in advance so they would have had the time to correct to 2024 if they wanted to imo.
  8. I think the timing for this release is very consistent with what the band has being doing recently with HT20 and Meteora20. There has been a couple of weeks of teasing and anticipation. Then the single to launch the promotion and then a little less then 2 months later the album drops. If this feels to you a little rushed it's also because I don't think the band or the label thinks this is as big of a deal as the two boxset. It's clearly not. Those two boxset were huge in terms of effort to put it toghether and also the new unreleased and rare material in them was much more than friendly fire and qwerty. Concerning the artwork I think the fact that is simple doesn't mean that it was rushed. The cover of ATS is super simple and that album took foverer. I honestly like both the cover of the singles collection and that of friendly fire. I appreciate their simplicity. Everyone has a different taste but just because you don't like it I don't think it's fair to start theories and accusation for why is that.
  9. I have been a LP fan for a long time but I joined LPlive recently. I had no idea that the LP fam was this whiny. Almost all the comments here are to complain about something, the artwork, the tracklist, the timing, the reason for this release, etc. 🤣
  10. It will also be released on cd. It is a greatest hits. Singles collection and greatest hits in this case are equivalent since all the biggest LP songs are singles. Using spotify as a metric to value the songs popularity, the first non single in the top streamed songs are at number 19 and 20, and they are a place for my head and lying from you, which makes sense to exclude in this release so that hybrid and meteora don't overshadow all the rest of LP discography.
  11. To me it's not really a big deal if THP is not featured in this singles collection or if any other songs, like heavy, given up, the catalyst, etc are not in the tracklist. It's not like these songs are suddenly unavailable. If I want to hear THP I know where it is. Also with a limit of 20 songs (18 if we don't count 1 unreleased track and 1 hidden gem that are necessary to better promote a relese like this) there was always going to be hits left out, so one way or another somebody was going to find a reason to complain.
  12. There's plenty of linkin park listeners who have never heard of QWERTY. I just wrote to 2 friends who I went to a LP show with if they had seen the news of friendly fire and qwerty and they had no idea qwerty existed. One of them even has a linkin park inspired tattoo, some lyrics from the messenger
  13. I'm ok with QWERTY being #14. I love that song, I wanted it on streaming for so long and I don't own any of the physical release with QWERTY on it so it's another good reason for me to buy the singles collection. I was just saying that is not sure that QWERTY is 14, it's just very likely
  14. If he's not trolling then QWERTY is definitely in the tracklist but we don't know if it's really #14, it could also be #21
