We're back in business! After a short excursion around the world last fall, Linkin Park are back in action to kick off their first large-scale world tour in almost eight years. The 2025 From Zero World Tour kicks off on January 31, 2025 in Mexico City, Mexico at the Estadio GNP Seguros. What does the band have in store for us this year?

We've had a few months off, so let's dive into a quick recap of where things left off last year. Linkin Park concluded their touring in 2024 with a bang, with a short run of shows in South America in November and their first ever performance in Saudi Arabia in December. The band kicked things off in South America with their first show ever in the country of Colombia, delivering a huge show to fans in Bogotá. Last year's sets featured snippets of different songs in the interludes used throughout the show and different song rotations, and toward the last few shows the band really began mixing things up. Set C was performed in Bogotá, featuring 'Burn It Down' lyrics over the interludes and 'A Place For My Head' as the rotation song, with the surprise slot being moved up into the encore starting at this show. While the show itself was great, the band did have a couple of hurdles to overcome. Technical issues marred the set early on, with most of the distortion effects on the instruments cutting out during the first chorus of 'The Emptiness Machine.' The song was performed a second time by request of the crowd once the problems were fixed, though the band did leave the stage after 'The Catalyst' to get things completely fixed. Additionally, as documented in an LPTV episode, Emily and other members needed pure oxygen onstage to help them breathe properly due to the high altitude of the country. Despite it all, the band powered through and played a big show before heading off to Brazil for two shows in São Paulo's Allianz Parque to celebrate the release of From Zero.

The band's two shows in Brazil sent ripples through the country itself. The first show, taking place on the release date of the album, set the tone for the band's long-awaited return to Brazil. Set A was brought out, with 'Castle Of Glass' used during the interludes and 'Lost In The Echo' being played as the rotation track. As it was the first time on the tour the band played the same city twice, the changes between sets were really played with in Brazil. 'Lying From You' and 'Points Of Authority,' which has previously both been played, became rotations between shows, as well as 'My December' and 'Friendly Fire,' the latter of which had been absent from sets for the last handful of shows. 'Two Faced' made its live debut after 'Lying From You,' and the Brazilian crowd truly gave it a warm welcome into the band's live catalogue. The first show was partially livestreamed, where it was announced that a theatrical edit will be released of it some time this year - stay tuned for that, as the full show broadcast on Multishow really captured how powerful a show it was. On top of the other handful of new tracks that were being freshly performed (such as 'Casualty' and 'Over Each Other'), the show also saw older tracks get some love. The crowd sang a football chant at the end of Mike's solo medley of 'When They Come For Me' and 'Remember The Name,' leading him to comment that he and Phoenix had always wanted a song with that kind of vibe. The second show brought much the same passion as the night before, with Set B closing out the leg with 'Iridescent' lyrics and a last-minute switch up of 'A Place For My Head' as the rotation song instead of the freshly debuted 'Keys To The Kingdom.'

The band's last show of 2024 was another check off the list, with their first show ever in Saudi Arabia and their first show in the Middle East since the A Thousand Suns World Tour brought them to Israel and the United Arab Emirates in 2010. Their show took place at Riyadh's Soundstorm Festival, which boasted a huge lineup including EminemMuseThirty Seconds To MarsMartin GarrixSteve Aoki, and more. While we didn't see any collaborations happen, the band delivered their first festival set of the tour which did offer some surprises and a look into what the band may be considering for 2025's festival appearances. The band cut the set down to mostly the big singles, opening with a run of 'Somewhere I Belong,' 'Crawling,' and 'New Divide.' 'Two Faced' was moved down after 'Waiting For The End,' and 'Given Up' made an unexpected return after being dropped for a few shows (likely in favor of 'Casualty'). No encore break meant the band went straight from 'Faint' into the Resolution Intro and 'Papercut.' The band treaded a lot of new territory in 2024 despite only being active for the last quarter of it, so it'll be exciting what new horizons the next few years will bring!

Now that we're all caught up again, let's dive back into a different past: this time, let's talk about Linkin Park in Mexico. The band's last shows in the country were in June 2015, which included a show in Mexico City's Arena Ciudad de Mexico. This show came on the second-to-last leg of The Hunting Party World Tour, and was the first headlining show of the leg for them, having been playing festivals in the United States and Canada at the shows prior. The band added a couple of songs into the set given that they had some more time, including 'Points Of Authority' (which was last performed at the end of 2014), 'Final Masquerade' (which had been dropped at the festival shows), and 'Crawling,' which was performed in full for the first time since the band's Hybrid Theory in full performance at Download 2014. Mike's 2014 solo medley was replaced by a shortened version of 'Remember The Name' and the full band live debut of Fort Minor's 'Welcome.' This was the first time that (relatively) complete versions of Fort Minor songs made their way into Linkin Park shows, a tradition that has kept up with 'Remember The Name' for the last few album cycles. 'Waiting For The End' featured for the first time in the encore at these Mexican shows as well. 2012 was the next most recent visit to Mexico City, this time on the Living Things World Tour, right off of the tail of the Carnivores Tour. Again rocking the Arena Ciudad de Mexico, the band brought some rarer album tracks from Living Things out like 'In My Remains' and 'Victimized,' the latter of which was mashed up with the bridge of 'QWERTY.' Older tracks made appearances too, including 'With You' and 'Points Of Authority.' During the bridge of 'Bleed It Out,' the band performed a cover of the Beastie Boys' 'Sabotage,' honoring the passing of Beastie Boys' rapper and bassist, MCA. These series of shows were the band's first headlining shows in the country, and the first time since 2002 that the band had played a show there.

The band's last show of the Hybrid Theory World Tour (barring a charity performance a few days after) took place at the same venue the band will be headlining in 2025 - Foro Sol (which is now known as the Estadio GNP Seguros). The band opened for Korn at this show, omitting some of the deeper cuts from the era like 'Forgotten,' 'My December,' and 'It's Goin' Down,' but bringing a big punch for their first show in Mexico as well as their last proper show of their first world tour. This show featured a rare performance of Linkin Park's cover of 'My Own Summer (Shove It)' by Deftones, possibly the final performance of the cover ever as the setlist for the benefit show a few days later is unconfirmed. As is the theme with this record, we are somehow once again back where everything started - the same venue that began Linkin Park's live history in Mexico is where things pick back up again to kick off their first broad world tour of their comeback.

And now, let's get back to the present. Now that the album has been released for a few months and the band has had time to rehearse again, we're expecting a couple of switch-ups in the setlist over the next few shows! We're as in the dark as to what the band will be performing in Mexico City and going forward in 2025, but we have a bunch of guesses! Let's start by talking about the general setlist itself. The band carefully constructed the 2024 setlist to tell a story and reintroduce themselves while still proving that they are the same band, and this narrative was attached to the various interludes and intros that featured within the sets. One big question is whether or not these intros and interludes will continue to be used in 2025, and if so, it seems more likely that the band will be modifying last year's setlists further rather than constructing a brand new one. But if not, there are a number of songs raring for a chance to open the show or even the encore - many fans have noted that the Arcane version of 'Heavy Is The Crown' would make for an excellent show opener or encore opener, and would be a cool extended intro to the song itself. Speaking of new songs, it would be shocking to us if some brand new songs from From Zero aren't performed live. The only song that seems to be outright confirmed to be performed is 'Good Things Go,' the closing song from From Zero that -- to the surprise of the band -- really struck a chord with the fanbase. Photos from rehearsal show lyrics from 'Good Things Go' on the teleprompters, indicating that the band were rehearsing the track. Another interesting indicator is that Alex Feder, the band's touring guitarist standing in for Brad Delson, posted footage on his Instagram of him practicing 'Good Things Go' - on the drums! Could Colin Brittain and Alex be doing the ol' switcheroo for this song? Colin already steps away from the drum kit for a couple moments in the set, playing electric guitar during 'When They Come For Me' in Mike's solo medley and acoustic guitar (and backing vocals) in 'My December.' We haven't seen Alex switch up his weapon of choice yet, but they could be trying a different arrangement of members for 'Good Things Go' - time will tell! It wouldn't surprise us to see other songs from From Zero be debuted either - the band expressed interest in playing a number of them, especially 'Overflow' which was requested by the crowd in Brazil the day of the album release! What new songs are you looking forward to hearing live the most?

It'll be interesting to see if the band add any older songs from their catalogue into the setlist as well, perhaps increasing the number of rotating spots in the setlist. A few tracks were mentioned last year, with 'From The Inside' being one that Mike himself said the band were considering bringing out for the 2025 tour. With 'Lying From You' and 'Points Of Authority' now being rotated, 'From The Inside' would fit right in alongside them in the third version of the set (assuming that a completely new set hasn't been made). Colin also mentioned that he would like to play 'Runaway,' as well as noting that the band had rehearsed some more songs from The Hunting Party - 'Keys To The Kingdom' and 'All For Nothing' both made their debuts live last year, and despite either song not being played much ('All For Nothing' being played at only one show where Helmet opened), we hope the #JusticeForTheHuntingParty energy continues this year! It would be fantastic to see songs like 'Guilty All The Same' or 'Final Masquerade' make a return. What classic tracks do you want to see make a return this year?

The live debut of 'All For Nothing' with Page Hamilton from Helmet at the band's show in Arlington, Texas on November 8, 2024. While the song was only played when Hamilton was around, this performance shocked the fanbase at the time and showed a change in the band's attitude toward bringing out rarer songs. Maybe some similar surprises are in store this year!

AFI will be opening up for the band on the Mexican leg of the tour. If you're a fan of mid-2000's rock, this band needs no introduction with singles like 'Miss Murder' and 'Girl's Not Grey' remaining timeless jams to this day. These will also be AFI's first shows of the year, so you can expect them to whip out their biggest tracks and then some. AFI previously opened for the band in 2014 on the Carnivores Tour, and coincidentally the last time saw AFI was last summer when they opened for... Thirty Seconds To Mars. Some sort of spiritual Carnivores Tour reunion took place in my life last year, it seems. Regardless, AFI always bring an eclectic and unforgettable show, and you can expect them to throw a great party before Linkin Park take the stage.

Who'll be attending the show? If you're in Mexico City, pick up some tamales before the show, because dinner is on the band - free tamales will be available before the show at three locations in the city, so if you need a bite before the gig, check one of these spots out! Weatherman Rogue Soul is back in 2025 to report a beautiful day for a show on Friday, with temperatures in the 70s and a few clouds in the sky. A pop-up store has been open in the city as of the 28th, and will be open until 8pm on the 30th, so if you have some time to check it out, go grab some exclusive merch before the show so you don't have to wait in line later on! Linkin Park continue with their Mexican run of shows in February, with a show in Zapopan on February 3 and another in Monterrey on February 5. After a week's break, the band head over to Asia for two shows in Japan and one in Indonesia. The band then have their biggest break of the year between mid-February and mid-April, when they kick off their first leg of North American shows and festivals. 2025 is going to be a big year for the band and a super busy one for us LPLive staff, but we're ready to enjoy every moment of it alongside you! Happy tour kickoff from LPLive, it's good to be back :)

Shows in Mexico are always special! The crowd is always very energetic, which makes watching more interesting. By the way, the 2012 proshot has a really cool performance.

I find it curious that the band doesn’t include Mexico in their North American tours. It’s basically like always doing standalone shows in the country.

About the setlist, the first show of a tour is always interesting because of possible surprises. Still, I think we won’t have many new things tomorrow. I’m hoping for Good Things Go and maybe an old song.

That said, over the year, I think all the songs from From Zero will have their live debut.

I know some people here are from Mexico, and I hope they enjoy the shows. This tour is very special, and I hope you all have a great time.

I got unlucky. I’ve always wanted to visit Mexico. Even before the band’s return, I bought tickets to Mexico City for the end of this March. If I had booked for two months earlier, I’d be going to these shows too…

AFI is a good opening act. I remember Chester saying he loved AFI's BURIALS album.

I guess we might see some changes on the "acoustic" part of the set, which seems easier to rehearsal things and "improvise".
The rest of the show is all connected with lights, intros, and lots of engineering stuff that it must be so hard to keep changing.

Just hope they do another starting song, SIB doesn't feel like a good first song to me.

And the apex of this tour could be OVERFLOW. Anxious for that.

I hope they keep playing songs off of The Hunting Party. I really want Keys to the Kingdom in my next show!

Agreed, Mike has said they planned to rehearse all From Zero songs, because he wants to add to the set the music this lineup created together.

Some will probably be in rotation spots, IMO

So we will probably have the debut of Good Things Go here. There probably won't be many changes, maybe some songs will be included in the rotation (Wastelands, From The Inside or some surprises, for example Don't Stay). I'll be shocked if they play Overflow as well, as I assume this song joined the setlist in the summer. I would love to see Two Faced with a long intro as an opener.

I have to wait until July for my concert. Have fun in Mexico, whoever is there from the forum!

I need THP songs, please. I think they will be playing a couple of FZ new songs (good things go and another one), they will rotate older ones (FTI/LFY/POA) and of course rotate the heavy ones (we want Em to keep her voice). There will be changes, but not so many

Nice preshow as always!!!

btw, I have the time to Talk a lil’ with Lorenzo and he said there will be a couple of surprises for Today’s show.

Guys…here we go again!!!!
but first of all, I need

some extra energy, so I’m going to dinner some Tamalinkin Parks!!! :D

Hours left before 2025 tour gets into full swing… counting down the days to Wembley!!

Looking forward to what tonight holds.

Great write up as usual!

Lost FULL BAND (first half piano / second half full band), Good Things Go, and Overflow live debuts!!

EDIT: Cut The Bridge over the BIO bridge too!

Wow what a really strong tour opener.

Lost full band, Good Things Go with Phoenix on keys, Overflow with Phoenix on bass. That's great.

Of course a loss with the LFY/POA spot and BTH gone, but they'll rotate songs all year surely. Solid start to the year and shows this lineup isn't afraid to start changing it up. 25 songs also makes sense considering they have a massive touring slate coming up.

(For me) GTG is extreme fail. I knew it will be bad live. Even if its my best song from the album but it was almost impossible for them to play this in original form. I thought it will have some changes in melody but never expected it will be whole song pitch lower. They should not play this live like Powerless. LP almost always make songs like hip hop producers piece by pieces, layers by layers. Many of vocal parts are recorded separately and have bunch of effects. They probably rehearsed it in original pitch but it doesn't click. CTB, Stainded and IGYEIH have much more realistic vocals to perform live and I'm shock that they choose GTG instead even if its fans favourite

To be fair, that's the case for a lot of LP songs. While some work live others don't. They is so much stuff going on in those songs and they try to play everything live (Keys, synthy, guitar, bass etc.) and not run it from the playback. Therefore Mike is busy with playing a million instruments which influences his and the bands performance. Like, Overflow could be much sicker if he doesn't have to stick behind the keyboard and have to rap while playing keys.

Alex learned how to play A Place for My Head correctly!

Massive upgrade over 2024. That's how it's supposed to sound. Now, LFY and POA will be next lol

I watched videos of this show from different perspectives. And let me just say this: I CAN'T WAIT FOR JULY TO HEAR THIS!

Lost sounds great when played in its entirety.

Overflow is absolutely brilliant, I had chills watching the intro.

Snippet Cut The Bridge woven into Bleed It Out fits perfectly.

I like Good Things Go and it's as emotional as I thought it would be.

However, I hope that Lying From You and Points Of Authority are in the next versions of the setlist. I would love for From The Inside and Wastelands to be there too.

In my opinion, Two Faced should have played earlier, as the third song, and even Casualty much earlier, so that the beginning of the concert would be very energetic.

BTW. Sorry for my English. 🤣

And that's why I didn't like to have and official live release (Sao Paulo) so soon in the tour. Songs are not reaching yet it's full potential
