RayGun4200
That's unfortunate SuperXero/By Myself (It's Much Too Easy Being Lost ver) isn't talked about or maybe it's on another CD hopefully not lost to time. bloodbath
Is this vault available somewhere? Or just Jeff showing off his collection? It's him showing off his collection of Xero/Hybrid Theory/Linkin Park demos that he got over the years. No idea if he will put them out to the public. He would have to get permission from Warner & Linkin Park first if we wants to put them out to the public. Maybe to media people (radio stations, magazines, etc.) too, but it's likely of one those things intended for internal review only, not public broadcast. Also note that for several similar CDs that are out there, we have versions of the same CDs with different dates. Off the top of my head I can think of the 9-track "Hybrid Theory Demos" CD, the 6-track demo and the OSC Remix demo. Keep in mind that Linkin Park planned to release an EP in 2000 and the debut album was only supposed to come out in 2001, so it's natural that they had a Hybrid Theory EP in 2000. Another thing to think about is that High Voltage did only come out in 2001. They might have copied an old promo CD so people could listen to the upcoming song. Maybe Kids and And One were in consideration for b-sides as well and they wanted people's opinion on which song to release. Who knows? 2 hours ago, bloodbath said: Knowing the number of leaks of HT demos that have been since day 1, I think nobody would notice if "somebody" broke into his home and casually upload of all them to the internet... c3bebuilder
Since it was said on this thread that And Two is the rap part at the end of And One (most likely meaning the version of And One in this CD is the 1999 EP version) I'm starting to doubt that the live version has a studio recording of it and that it may of been something they created in rehearsals for the live shows and was never really recorded. But who knows Quote Link to comment https://lplive.net/forums/topic/18173-jeff-blues-vault-discoveries-fun-facts/page/2/#findComment-339274 Share on other sites

Since the CD is dated November 28, 2000 and the version mentioned is possibly the EP version, the band was already playing the shortened version live at this point (wasn’t played in the Toronto show) but it was played from July 2000 until October 2000 then brought back in 2001 which is why im starting to doubt this version exists in a studio form. This is based on Rob's drum tracking schedule, meaning they were working on a new version but may not have finished it, it may have been dropped from the track list early on and it never even got to any intermediate version. There's one thing that's always been confusing to me: Why did the band make new demos of Part Of Me and Carousel when they had good EP versions? The later demos sound much weaker and less polished in terms of the mix. Meanwhile, the And One demo has been going from disc to disc completely unchanged. It's like they didn't have multitracks of the songs from that EP, and they couldn't change the parts like they did with the demos that originally featured Mark singing, and they basically replaced the vocal takes. So it's like they re-created those HTEP tracks (Part of Me, Carousel, and High Voltage too). And another interesting detail, also concerning these tracks and not only: Chester's vocals on HTEP sound most similar to the vocals in HT, but on all the demos between them - it sounds completely different, as if it were more like how Mark sang (bright examples - Untitled, Esaul, Rhinestone, Carousel, Part Of Me, Crawling, Slip, etc.) - the vocals are very "fuzzy" and not so powerful. Maybe they were looking for a different sound for themselves... But who knows I think we're on a very early case of a "live exclusive" version. We've keep wondering for years if that abridged version existed in studio, but for me it's like the live intros/outros LP have been playing since 2004. You know, the OSC intro opener, the Faint outro... There's no "studio versions" of those and we've just accepted as it is. Best case scenario would be a rehearsal of those, but nobody will lose a night of sleep over it. Hybrider Posted yesterday at 09:59 PM Share Posted yesterday at 09:59 PM (edited) If Pointillism is So Far Away, that means it's originated from Xero and maybe it has Mark's vocals too. Edit: There is also a different version of Slip where the begining of the song is the instrumental of released version's bridge. We can hear this version in some old video. I think video is called Jammin with Linkin Park. Are Rhinestone and Esaul the same as the LPU versions? 2. We have the same HTEP version of And One on all the demos we've heard, but are Carousel and PoM the same as the HTEP versions or closer to the 9/8/7-track versions in terms of arrangement (different drums and samples, vocal takes)? 3. Which available version of SuperXero is the same as what the LPLive guys heard? Is P&A the LPU 12 version?
