They should've picked Stained as the single instead of Over Each Other. I love Stained.

For me it’s Good Things Go. They’d make a great mistake if they don’t choose it as a single and make a proper music video for it.

That song will blow off the charts.

GTG sounds like a Post Traumatic kind of song. It is good, but not that impressive. I can’t understand the hype.

I stick with Overflow, TEM (of Course) and IGEIH (IT IS AMAZING!!).

I don’t see how a PT song could have had a crazy high-noted vocal, atmospheric Program-esque (Meteora demo) clean riffs. Sure Mike’s raps and the octaves in the third verse sound like PT, but in my opinion that’s where the similarities end.

First listen, I'm like wow.

It's funny because I remember listening to OML album leak and I thought it was a joke and I was quite disappointed, but FZ... FZ is amazing.

I don't have yet a ranking list but all I can say is all the band is killing it. Emily voice diversity on each track, Mike on Casualty is mind blowing.

I really like the album, I really look forward next year, I do believe we will get a live album by 2025 ending or early 2026 and maybe demos or EP/re-release of FZ with new tracks

The only downside for me is the intro track, too short and forgettable, we use to have way better intros (Meteora, MTM) also really hopped we would have something like Inception Intro instead x)

Yeah, intro is very bad, I mean, idea is fine but it's too short.

I guess i'm in minority but Casualty is bad song. It sound like "Let's do this even heavier KTTK, let's shock people" and finally for me they trying to hard.

Maybe it'll grow on me, who knows.

In the other hand I love the second half of the album.

Overflow is differend and I love that kind of song, way more than another Meteora-like song. Mike vocals is amazing, love it.

Two Faced is exactly that Meteora-like song and frankly it's awesome track, good for next single.

Stained is another interesting song. Someone said that it's sound like song from 2010 or something and yeah, it feels like that. Love Emily vocals.

IGYEIH is maybe my favorite on the album right now. Emily delivery on the chorus is something else and ending is so fun!

I had big hopes for Good Things Go and unfortunately I expected something more.

It's still amazing song with unique atmosphere but I wish that it exploding way more and as the last song on the album it's too short.

From Zero is good album but for me it's not close to ATS or MTM.

You can see that they wanted to give something old while trying something new, and I think it worked well.

My order after first day

1. Good Things Go - One of the best in entire discography in terms of emotions.

Masterpiece. That's it.

2. Overflow - most growing track after many listening. Emily vocals on second part are so touching. Song is like mix of Dropped Frames , ATS and The Weeknd. Mike vocals are something new and I Love it.

3. Two Faced - More authentic throwback to old school than HITC. And I think first song since Meteora to have every aspects of old style. Mike flow is almost indentical. Vocal chord progression in Chorus reminds me of Dave guitar part in clip 'Xero reborn' form LPUTV. It would cool if this track is reworked old demo.

4. The Emptiness Machine - best comeback track we could imagine and great Emily introduction.

5. IGYEIH - that is cool track. Interesting Demi Lovato like vocals from Emily with much more power. That one long reverb scream before real ending reminds me of Chester so much.

6. Cut The Bridge - something in this reminds me Bleed It Out but it is much more interesting song for me. One thing I don't like is Mike flow in the bridge with that stretched note in every lines.

7. Over Each Other - solid song. Very Jon Green pop with much louder sound than anything on OML. Kind of boring in bridge. Could have been much better. It sounds unfinished.

8. Casualty - very loud chaotic good track. Reminds me of White Noise, War, KTTK but I don't like Emily vocals on this one, too forced. Sounds weird. But it is interesting lyrically. I would know what it is really about since Emily wrote a chorus. ;)

9. Heavy Is The Crown - more generic throwback to old style. One note bridge which I don't like but I know why it's there. Nice Mike flow but verses are so short. I like ending chorus and instrumental. Love sampling in background. Band should use more samples like this in the future.

10. Stained - for me weakest track. Very radio frendly. It has similarities with GTG but for me is more repetitive poppy and generally worse. And that stretched 'Staaaaind' line annoy me after just one day.

My general opinion about this album is very positive. Best since LT. There are better or worse songs but I dont skip anything which is good sign. It is like mix of every original albums with modern more polished production. Not very experimental but Overflow is exception. Zane Lowe said it is very THP. It is not at all. THP was raw production. This album is more like classic LP polished album with more modern pop accents and influences but still loud enough. There was bunch of songwriters worked on and Mike and guys evolving into more commercial style of writing and production. Generally Emily sounds very good. For me better than Chester in 2017 and even 2014 but there is place to improvement. For comeback album I give it 8/10 rating.

Now give me something experimental for LP9 ;)

One thing I've been thinking about is I hope we hear the backstory on each track. Like we know at least that Good Things Go was kicking around on Mike's hard drive since 2020 at least. Which songs came from the 2019 sessions? Which are the newest? Was the HT/M influence a result of Meteora20?

I attended my first listening event EVER at Recorded Memories in Spokane, WA.

Mike and Em recorded a personalized greeting which played before the album, thanking fans.

1.    "From Zero (Intro)"   Classic little musical interlude with Em talking about Zero.       0:22
2.    "The Emptiness Machine"  We know this one, but I think it's classic LP that builds to rock with quieter interlude       3:10
3.    "Cut the Bridge"   some scratching. Beat/music reminds me of 90s Funk/Pop a little. Catchy! Great melodic chorus and some melodic Mike rapping. Will be great live!
3:48
4.    "Heavy Is the Crown" We know this one, but Em's scream showcased and can hear her "rock chops"       2:47
5.    "Over Each Other"  We know this one, but one of my favorites. Really showcases Em's singing voice!
2:50
6.    "Casualty"  Many know this one now, but studio version clearer. HEAVY. Reminds me of a Hunting Party track.       2:20
7.    "Overflow"    MtM and ATS era-like. Love Em's voice here. Soprano-nice contrast to other tracks. Has a bit of a psychedelic/trippy beat/feel.
3:31
8.    "Two Faced"  Meteora sounding intro before heavy Em scream. Classic Mike raps and Em whispering until screaming with Joe scratching, with band member talking in outro      3:03
9.    "Stained"  Melodic Mike rapping and singing! Wondering if this will be next radio single.      3:05
10.    "IGYEIH" lots of Em screaming. Repeats same phrase over and over again toward end (maybe too many times?)      3:29
11.    "Good Things Go" This one brought an immediate smile to my face. Mike singing! I love this one! I think they ended with the best. Definitely single material. Not heavy. Melodic. Love the lyrics.      3:29

I cannot wait to hear this album live next year!!! I would not skip any tracks. Excellent variety. There's something for everyone from heavy to more pop-ish, and their Classic alternative blend of genre style. This will be a top 3 best-selling album I think, even without the 7-year hiatus. Excited for our future!!!

Come on LPU summits and meet and greets in 2025!! I want to thank them in person!!!!

i remember two months ago when they announced the album, now here it is, here we are listening to it. in my opinion, the fact that the album is so GOOD makes up for how dang short is it. it's incredible, and has gone over my expectations as far as comeback standards go.

i listened to it late last night by myself - cut the bridge, casualty, and two faced had me going strong. loving the energy, though, i'm really not the biggest fan of casualty. i've never had a problem with the more screamy and loud lp songs, this one just didn't really hit well with me. i don't like it all that much...however, two faced has been playing in my head all day today, emily's chorus is so catchy. meteora is practically radiating off of the whole song. HITC and TEM, of course, they require no explanation. while i do prefer some of the other songs in FZ over TEM for instance, it was still such a solid start, i'm beyond grateful that they chose it as the lead single. honestly, two faced could easily have replaced OEO as singles go...but i don't mind it now since the entire album is here. i went through it in order, and considering the fact CTB was the first song i hadn't heard yet, i had a good feeling right off the bat.

before listening to it though, i knew i was going to love it either way - linkin park has never failed to please me. i'm not picky when it comes to a majority of the songs throughout the entire catalog, and i've been flexible with all of the types of songs they've experimented with. so in this way, i immediately had no problem with the album.

i love love love LOVE the vibe of overflow and stained. overflow is a nice change/mix up to follow after casualty. stained mixes well with their more pop-sounding style. sort of like living things in a way. about that, LT and ATS have always been my favourite albums, but i've got to say FZ is teetering in between the two. i mean, what an album. i don't know how to describe how much i adore it.

good things go has been the most outstanding for me. i knew before listening to the album that i was likely going to be be an emotional wreck afterwards, which is partly why i chose to be secluded when i gave it a listen 😝. mike and emily vocals on this one...they're so outstanding. GTG is a spectacular finish - probably my favourite song on the record at the moment. the style of the song is just wow, it sounds so unique and settled so well with me. lp can nail any style kind of song. it quickly adopted a sentimental feel, which isn't bad, i like the mix of loud and soft songs in the lp world. (additionally, it's funny to me how the whole album technically loops, since the end of GTG transitions back to the intro. i've always got a huge kick out of their song transitions. the intro is kind of cute in a way, whoever is asking about the song title just adds a funny little start to the album.)

gotta end it by saying how lucky we are to have emily in the operation. she's not chester, she's emily. i will always absolutely love chester, chester is lp and will always be lp, and emily fits right in. never had a problem with her, and when all of the hate and controversy was circulating about her, i simply ignored it. same for colin - i've easily welcomed them. everyday i'm beyond grateful to have linkin park in my life, so this new era has meant the world to me. and kudos to mike...come on...the man is still killing it out there and has been for what, twenty five something years now - additionally with fort minor and his solo projects. (he's my favourite part of lp 🙃) so much respect to those guys, to mike, chester, emily, phoenix, brad, joe, rob, and colin...linkin park is so so so fucking back, i really appreciate everything their music is and has done for me. all i've got left to do, hopefully, is attend a show

I think it's got a bit more involved instrumentation than anything on PT, but I totally get what you mean with the Mike vocals.

Still though, I think that isn't saying anything bad. I mean Ghosts would be in the top 3 OML songs for me if it was on that album, PT has great stuff and Emily being on this takes it to the next level. Mike's "rap turns into singing" is at its best on this track, and that's something we really haven't gotten on an LP song before so I think it's great. The lyrics are also beautiful.

Maybe I appreciate it more knowing it's all the way from 2019. I think it's cool when Mike has a demo around for years because he sees the potential in it. All this time not talking about it because it deserved more than a one-off release like AO

Am on the third listen now, there's at least 5 very very memorable songs. Instant classics.

The album as a piece feels a little bit without personality because of it's diversity. MTM and LT were very diverse and had a more clear identity.

(Sorry for the double post, didn't even realize i did it)

Cut The Bridge pre-chorus Emily sounds like Upsahl from Happy Endings.

The sound itself brings me back a little bit to Happy Endings, don't know why.

That moment is the best part of the song for me, kinda makes me wish there was another soft acoustic song with those kinds of vocals throughout. I'm sure there's a demo of that nature somewhere

Also, I just realized "It's only a matter of time" is something Mike and marketing was using pre-September 5th and it's a lyric of Casualty. Neat

I also like "Counting to zero" as a lyric tying to the album title, I just wish the intro track had a different title

I have listened to the album several times now and I quite enjoy it. It sure feels short but as a comeback album, I think it does a great job at reminding people what LP is all about , including some experimentation although for the most part it's a pretty "safe" album. My favorite songs are probably Casualty, Good Things Go and IGYEIH. We'll see how it ages but I think it'll rank higher than OML and LT for me. I hope next time around they do get to experiment a little bit more and they go beyond than a collection of 2 or 3 minute songs with the good ole classic song structures.

Listened the other night and now I was able to enjoy it in my car, loud.

01. From Zero (Intro): Reminds me of like Disney’s Hercules or something, like the whole ‘’being reborn’’ choir thing, the music section. I get the idea that they were going for, though, with the whole reborn thing. Definitely Mike’s kid or something talking, I’ve heard some people say it’s Emily, definitely not at all, sounds like a boy, probably Otis.

02. The Emptiness Machine: I’ll admit, I didn’t want to like this song when it first dropped. But I ended up liking it. It’s a good song. One of the best on the album. Has a different sound than a lot of other songs on the album, actually, IMO. It’s a little on the Minutes To Midnight side with the punky rock influence but still keeping things alternative. Has good melodies, too, the ‘’I only wanted to be part of’’ line always gets stuck in my head. The final chorus is also great with the whole ‘’so fucking naive’’ lyric change. If I hadn’t listened to this song a bunch before I heard the album, it might be my favorite track on the album.

03. Cut The Bridge: People said this song was for Minutes To Midnight fans, it does have that alternative rock feeling and it’s similar to Bleed It Out in some ways. I feel like this song may be a style that the band could utizlize in the future, not to ‘’nu-metal’’ sounding but also rocky with rapping. Overall, this song is good. It’s not my favorite, but it’s pretty good. The chorus is pretty good, good vocals from Emily and Mike on this one.

04. Heavy Is The Crown: Not a bad song. Not my favorite, though. I can see why they picked it as a single or an early release song, for sure. The obvious Given Up copy scream wasn’t my favorite thing, don’t think the song really needed it, but I feel like Mike is trying to prove something by having Emily do that kind of stuff. The intro of the song is catchy-annoying and gets stuck in my head. The whole song gets stuck in my head, actually.

05. Over Each Other: I actually don’t mind this song. It has good singing, good melodies. Catchy. I like how it’s poppy but also has a rock base. Not sure why One More Light couldn’t have been more like that, they didn’t need all the trap beats and chipmunk effects in order to write good pop songs. This song reminds me of One More Light in some ways. Overall, it’s a good song. The music video was kind of corny to me, but the song is good. Also, not trying to make this sound like a criticism because it’s not, but this doesn’t sound like ‘’Linkin Park’’ at all to me, not saying it’s a bad song, it’s a good song, it’s just that it doesn’t have that signature Linkin Park sound at all to me. Sounds like maybe a song Mike could have wrote with a featured artist or something like he was doing for the early part of the 2020’s.

06. Casualty: Possibly my favorite song on the album. It’s heavy as hell, it’s in your face, it’s good. Mike’s aggressive singing in the verses reminds me of Helmet. The song in general reminds me of Slipknot, like the music and stuff. I’ve seen people compare this song to War, it’s actually not similar to War at all. War was a straight forward punk rock/hardcore song, dare I say almost like a neo-nazi type of sound hahaha. This song is like Keys To The Kingdom on crack. It’s awesome. Emily can definitely scream. I’d enjoy this song live if I was at a Linkin Park show, for sure. The lyrics are kind of cool in the verses, too. Different for Linkin Park. It just slays.

07. Overflow: This is the first song I didn’t really like that much. Has a Deftones kind of vibe to it, and I’ve never been a Deftones fan. Emily’s singing reminds me of like Grimes on Bring Me The Horizon’s song called Nihilist Blues, as well as a song called Limosine that they did with a singer named Aurora. The ending of the song, with the little part of ‘’Fuse’’ from the Xero demo is funny. Even funnier because that track wasn’t on the Hybrid Theory 20th Anniversary box set. Kind of cool because by doing that, it’s kept more of a ‘’song that only the hardcore fans know’’ type of thing.

08. Two Faced: This song needs to be a single. It will blow up huge if so. Has a huge chorus. The interplay between Emily and Mike is good in some sections, too. The whole ‘’stop yelling at me’’ section is totally One Step Closer esque. Not trying to sound misogynistic but I can see teenage girls 20’s/30’s something women raging to this song. It might become an anthem. Personally, I don’t love the song, I probably would have when I was younger. But it’s not a bad song.

09. Stained: Definitely has a 2010’s style and sound. Reminds me of a lot of poppy female singers from that decade with the huge anthems, like Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, etc. I think this song would fair well on radio, possibly. The chorus is kind of annoying-ish but meh.

10. IGYEIH: Was shocked at how heavy this song was. The intro is 100% Bring Me The Horizon’s latest album. It’s a nu-metalish style track, for sure. The screams are intense, the singing is intense, I almost don’t like how screamy it is. They may have went a tad overkill here. But it’s a good song.

11. Good Things Go: This song was the song that I was always the most excited to first hear. It’s a great song. Tied with Casualty as my favorite song on the album. Love the intro, love the moodiness of the song, the vibe. Lyrics are good. Touch a little too close to home for me. Emily’s singing is good on this song, it’s kind of got that Demi Lovato/Katy Perry thing going on but it’s different in this track compared to say a song like Stained. It reminds me of some of the songs Machine Gun Kelly has done with female artists on his more recent stuff, like with PVris or whatever and some other stuff. This song is totally a 2020’s vibe, I think when we look back at this decade, songs like this will be remembered, this style. It’s different from the 2010’s pop style. Overall, a good closing track.

Ranking the album as a whole, I would say it’s better than One More Light and The Hunting Party for sure, those two albums were garbage IMO aside from a few tracks. It’s probably tied with LIVING THINGS. I don’t really like A Thousand Suns but it’s not as good as A Thousand Suns, IMO. Obviously I wouldn’t rank it anywhere near my precious babies (the 2000’s LP). But yeah, it’s not a bad album, it’s better than their last two albums for sure and is equal to LIVING THINGS.

I think they should play the whole album live. That’s one thing I want to say is that I feel like this new version of the band works better when they play the newer stuff and the later LP albums. A lot of the stuff from the first three LP albums is too Chester IMO, but they should still play the singles from all those albums, maybe drop Given Up at future shows, I feel like that was the weakest live song.

BTW: in From Zero (Intro) - that's not Emily

It didn't change man i fuckin love the album.

Had a blast last night 🍻

It's clear Linkin Park just wants to move on making music without looking back. There's not any clear nod at Chester, or any homage at all (at the concerts, songs, interviews...) They're almost pretending it didn't even happen.

Seems like it's working, tho. Of course us, the hardcore fans, would expect more materials connected to Chester somehow, paying homages and such. But they have the right to move on like they're doing.
