hahninator Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Linkin Park has finally announced their long-anticipated return to North America! The band will tour the United States and Canada this summer in support of their new album One More Light, alongside Machine Gun Kelly! The tour dates are in two legs and are as follows: July 27 - Mansfield, MA - Xfinity Center Aug 1 - Camden, NJ - BB&T Pavilion Aug 2 - Bristow, VA - Jiffy Lube Live Aug 5 - Uncasville, CT - Mohegan Sun Arena Aug 7 - Clarkston, MI - DTE Energy Music Theatre Aug 8 - Toronto, ON - Budweiser Stage Aug 10 - Montreal, QC - Bell Centre Aug 12 - Cincinnati, OH - Riverbend Music Center Aug 14 - Tinley Park, IL - Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre Aug 15 - St. Paul, MN - Xcel Energy Center Aug 17 - Charlotte, NC - PNC Music Pavilion Aug 19 - Tampa, FL - Midflorida Credit Union Amphitheatre Aug 20 - West Palm Beach, FL - Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre Aug 22 - Houston, TX - Toyota Center Aug 23 - San Antonio, TX - AT&T Center Aug 25 - Dallas, TX - Starplex Pavilion Aug 26 - Oklahoma City, OK - Chesapeake Energy Arena Aug 28 - Denver, CO - Pepsi Arena Aug 30 - Phoenix, AZ - Talking Stick Resort Arena Sept 1 - Lake Tahoe, NV - Lake Tahoe Harvey's Outdoor Arena Sept 2 - Las Vegas, NV - MGM Grand Garden Arena ------- Oct 14 - Seattle, WA - Key Arena Oct 15 - Vancouver, BC - Rogers Arena Oct 17 - Fresno, CA - Save Mart Center Oct 18 - San Jose, CA - SAP Center Oct 20 - Chula Vista, CA - Mattress Firm Amphitheatre Oct 22 - Los Angeles, CA - Hollywood Bowl This will be Linkin Park's first true North American tour since 2014. The band performed at a series of festivals in North America in 2015 towards the end of The Hunting Party touring cycle. The last full tour they did was in the summer of 2014: the Carnivores Tour featuring Thirty Seconds To Mars and AFI. It'll have been three years since the band has done an honest North American Tour - it's long overdue! This tour is a bit of an interesting one. The One More Light North American Tour is a mixture of the traditional summer amphitheaters (including one of LP's most played venues - the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, NJ being played for the ninth time this tour) and a few arenas that the band missed out a chance to play on in the winter of 2015, when Chester unfortunately broke his leg and the entire tour was cancelled after three shows. The band is making up a couple of the dates on that tour, but also including other arenas they traditionally don't play. After all the speculation, the rumors of the Linkin Park / Blink-182 tour seem to not be true. However, there are are several gaps in the tour where the bands could play shows together. The two cities updated on the presale map of cities that are not announced yet are Harrisburg, PA and New York, NY. Machine Gun Kelly will be opening for Linkin Park on this tour. This will be the first time he joins the band for a full tour, but it won't be the first time he's played with the band. When Linkin Park did a special show at the Ventura, CA stop of the Warped Tour in 2014, they invited different artists onstage for each song - one of which was MGK. He rapped his song 'What I Do' over the extended bridge of 'Bleed It Out' - it's pretty likely we'll see a similar collaboration happen on this tour! MGK is about to release his third record Bloom is being released on May 12, a week before One More Light, so you can expect to see some new material on his end, too. Catch MGK on 'Bleed It Out' at 2:50 in this video. Will we see another collaboration like this? Who's pumped? If you signed up for pre-sale tickets when the markets were announced last Friday, get ready for the pre-sale that starts next week (Tuesday, May 9). Make sure you don't miss it! Linkin Park's One More Light touring cycle starts this Saturday in Buenos Aires, Argentina. hahninator Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 Wow, I'm surprised no NY shows New York always gets announced afterward. That's exactly what happened for Carnivores and Honda Civic Tour. Quote
loulax07 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 New York always gets announced afterward. That's exactly what happened for Carnivores and Honda Civic Tour. very true, I can see it being Aug 3 or 4. Quote
hahninator Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 Harrisburg, PA and New York, NY are not on the dates list but are on the list for the presale map. Those will be announced later. Quote
LPExtremis23 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Uggghhhh, wish they weren't at the Starplex for Dallas. Would've preferred an arena venue. Oh well. MGK was an unexpected surprise. Really dig his music. Quote
Astat Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Well, having to endure MGK is sure as hell not worth the cost of pit tickets, so looks like I'm saving money, getting seats, and showing up right before LP starts. Quote
AParallelogramInTheSand Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 I expected them to start Miami and go north, was really pissed for a second thinking Florida got shafted lol Finally gonna see them after 14 years of being a fan!! Quote
AStarkson Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 I'm in line for DC but no dates there just yet? Quote
hahninator Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 I'm in line for DC but no dates there just yet? Bristow. Quote
JZLP-Benningstrong Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) Believing in a random guy from a Blink 182 online forum was a mistake, hopefully they do something together in that gap, like. Mmm coming to Mexico lol. What do you think about MGK? I don't know anything about him. Edited May 2, 2017 by JZE Quote
Mesck547 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 There isn't really any chance of them playing NYC on August 21st is there? Quote
marzo23 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 So we can say it is a summer and fall tour loooooool 1 and a half month pause that is huge!! And they will add one or two shows an the end of July and another on the 4th of August Quote
Hybrid1988 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Of all the places in and around LA, why the Hollywood Bowl? Tickets are so overpriced and there's not even a pit. Saw Carnivores there and while the show was good, the venue left a lot to be desired for a rock show. Can they not sellout staples center or even the forum anymore? Quote
RiderSSPU Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 I wish the Blink rumors were true but I'll live. I don't listen to MGK personally but it's cool for anyone who does. My friend and I are going to Seattle! Quote
marzo23 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) Aug 20 - West Palm Beach, FL - Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre Best name ever!! And they could add some Mexican dates after LA Edited May 2, 2017 by marzo23 Quote
lakersfan13 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Random thought: Why don't we combine all the rumors and Blink/Fall Out Boy/LP combine to play "Projekt Revolution" in Harrisburg and NYC, and the LP returns the favor opening for Fall Out Boy at their Chicago show that they have yet to announce. Quote
LinkinMark Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) WOW a Vancouver show. Is that a first? EDIT: Checked the live guide...no it isn't Must be the first one for a while Edited May 2, 2017 by LINKINMARK Quote
marzo23 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 LP will play some shows in Europe with MGK too. Prague and Poland at least. I don't know if he will also do the other festivals too Quote
lakersfan13 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 (edited) Again, I'm just speculating here but: -Unless the Harrisburg and NYC dates are added outside the current dates, 7/29 and 8/4 are the only open dates that make sense in terms of routing and avoiding 3 shows in a row (which they aren't doing) -Blink is playing Lolla 8/4 (in Chicago)-Fall Out Boy has a show at Barclay's (Brooklyn) already scheduled -Playing with Blink in NYC on 7/29 and Fall Out Boy in Harrisburg 8/4 are within the realm of possibilities, given the little we know, and the potential of a second news drop. I wonder what the venues would be. MSG is booked up both of those nights. Barclay's? Red Bull Arena? Edited May 2, 2017 by lakersfan13 Quote
AParallelogramInTheSand Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Aug 20 - West Palm Beach, FL - Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre Best name ever!! And they could add some Mexican dates after LA I'm actually seeing Muse in that ampitheatre in a few weeks on vacation lol Quote
hahninator Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 I'm actually seeing Muse in that ampitheatre in a few weeks on vacation lol I'll be there. Can't add Mexico after LA I guess, they are having to fly to Japan. Quote
LPFreak64 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 My complaint is how in the world is Charlotte, NC (9 hours away from me) close to Nashville, Birmingham, Memphis, or Chattanooga? The 1st presale sign up gave me a false sense of hope that they would be coming local. But alas, if MGK is the only support, then I am not bummed as much. Quote
hahninator Posted May 2, 2017 Author Posted May 2, 2017 That makes no sense to me to drop Birmingham, Nashville and Memphis as markets when there are no shows anywhere close to those cities. Unfortunate that they skipped Georgia for the third tour in a row. Quote
