It's time! The Spring 2015 Stone Temple Pilots tour is beginning! The first show is taking place in the birthplace of grunge rock - Seattle, Washington. With an awesome location such as this and the band raring to go, this show's bound to be nothing short of amazing!

This will be the first time Chester's ventured to Seattle in awhile - in December 2003, one of the last dates on the 2003 leg of the Meteora World Tour. Stone Temple Pilots last played there in 2008. STP has only had a single performance this year - over a week ago in Scottsdale, Arizona for Arizona Bike Week, which happened to be Chester's first performance since he broke his ankle on The Hunting Party Winter North American Tour, which resulted in the entire tour being cancelled after the first few shows. Luckily, Chester seems to have made a great recovery! Stone Temple Pilots performed a new variation of the set they performed in October of last year. There were no Chester Debuts at this show, but the band was rehearsing up until yesterday AND Chester says they put together a pretty awesome set! Time will tell what fans will jam to this tour.

Check out this performance of 'Dead & Bloated' from Arizona Bike Week. The band seems raring to go on this tour! What songs do you want to see performed?

Who's heading to the show? After Seattle, the band embarks on a short excursion in California, hitting three cities: San Francisco, Anaheim, and West California. The band were recently announced to be replacing Bush on the upcoming WMMR*B*Q in Camden, New Jersey, right before Linkin Park plays at Rock On The Range - if you missed the chance to see them in Montclair later this month (or want double the jams) and are in the area, don't skip up this opportunity! Also performing at the festival will be Breaking Benjamin, The Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, and more. The band's debut album with Chester is rumored to be released in October, so get hyped for that! Follow us on Twitter @LiveSTP for updates on the show!

They are adding Coma, Adhesive and some others, apparently. Sounds like something acoustic.

Chester won't get worn out because LP is barely playing in May. He will be fine. If it was an LP tour right after an STP tour I would be worries, especially if it was in the winter....there'd be guaranteed canceled shows, but this will be fine.

I am disappointed they dropped Black Heart. I like Out Of Time and the rest of the EP but Black Heart is my favorite song on the EP currently. It came off great live.

Me too. I really like Black Heart, it's a great track. Out Of Time is great as well and I like the rest of the EP as well, too. I think my favorite out of the EP is probably Black Heart, honestly. The lyrics are dark in a cool way and I like the groove of the track. I don't really care much for older STP songs or stuff that they did before Chester joined the band but some of those might be cool to hear live, I'll have to wait and see.

Very happy to see a new set, and a pretty long one as well. Good to see that they're still adding a lot of songs they haven't played with Chester to the setlist. One problem about this set is that they dropped Black Heart. Pretty disappointed of that. Other than that it looks pretty good, quite inreresting that Trippin' didn't close the show.

I'm gonna point out that the STP songs aren't as demanding as most LP songs. Chester's parts in LP songs require a LOT more of his vocal range and power, while STP songs are much simpler to sing. He can do 22 songs with STP for that reason. While I'm sure LP COULD do 2 hour shows, I don't think Chester or Mike think Chester can handle it.

If Chester can sing 22 songs alone, why LP does't play for like 2 hours? I mean he shares vocals with other dude and can have instrumental moments...

All I care about this show is that they performed Creep

Why do you even need to bring LP into this? The only similarity between LP and STP is that Chester fronts both bands. LP is different and he isn't the only person in LP, maybe Mike or other members don't want to play longer shows. LP's set has always seemed fine to me, I don't care what they play. The only time I have complained about LP's set was when they wouldn't add new songs from the new albums (LT and THP) but I couldn't care less about set time or anything like that. LP shows are great.

On a side note, this set seems pretty good. I forced myself to listen to a lot of old STP albums today and listen to a lot of the new songs added here and they are pretty good. I still prefer the stuff with Chester more but I do like some of their old stuff. Hopefully I'll start enjoying them more and start listening to their old albums, etc, because they were a staple of the 90's.

Holy setlist. 22 fucking songs, that's a real rock show. Wow, I need to see this. I bet Chester is just loving this shit, dang.

The reason so many people are bringing this up via social media and now here is that Mike said LP can't play longer due to Chester. It was in an LPU chat. He said he wants to play longer setlists but can't because of Chester. So now this is making people question that.

Even still, it'd be great to see LP add in rarer old songs like this. This is a badass set.

I kinda remember that but I don't think that it was specifically about Chester, I remmeber that he said other band members.

Probably they want more money in order to play 2 hours, of course the band is capable to do that, they are not fucking elders.

LP could definitely do a 22 song set with some longer songs if they wanted to. They need to cut all the stupid ''half-songs'' and all the mash-up stuff and play the real songs again. Then from there, play some fan favorites, play the big singles, add a few of their longer songs, and there you go. I don't understand why LP insists on playing SO MANY singles. They have big hits, yes, but they are basically just In The End, Numb, What I've Done, New Divide and BURN IT DOWN, for the most part, with a few other songs that are fan favorites like One Step Closer, Faint, Given Up, Waiting For The End and Guilty All The Same, etc. That is 10 songs. They could play 12 songs of whatever else they wanted and I guarantee most people would leave happy, even casual fans, because they got to hear In The End, Numb and What I've Done. LP could play stuff like No More Sorrow, Figure.09, From The Inside, Blackout, A Place For My Head, Keys To The KIngdom, A Line In The Sand, Wretches And Kings, etc. if they wanted to.

Chester frequently sings at the absolute top end of his range in Linkin Park, lots of choruses with high B's and even a few C's here and there. Scott's natural vocal register sits about half an octave below Chester's, so what's high for Scott is pretty comfortable for Chester, and he doesn't have to push himself too hard most of the time. Some of the stuff on High Rise is higher, but they're only playing Out of Time live right now anyway.

Agreed 100% Geki. However, fans will shit their pants if LP doesn't play certain singles. Unfortunately, Mike and Chester (and probably the rest of the band) know this 100%. That fan in Melbourne was in tears when they didn't play In The End (the one that tweeted Chester) even though APFMH replaced it. JESUS. We met someone on Carnivores that was LIVID about no Crawling. Like really?

I'd love for Numb to go away, forever, ha. Drop Burn It Down, New Divide, Crawling, Numb, etc...as many singles as possible. I've seen them all so much (and so many other fans have) that I'd truly appreciate some different songs. If not, just do a club tour where you play zero (0) singles and see how it goes. I've always thought that'd be interesting to craft a set like that and see what the most liked songs are. No More Sorrow, And One, When They Come For Me, etc would all do really well.

They should record a Bluray to the LPU, 12 live tracks from a Third Encore session, all rare songs

my wet dream lool

Oh wow, Chester is jamming.

Last night STP sent a push notification to everyone that they canceled the FB event "STP Tour - Live In Concert", so people freaked. It was handled and was an accident apparently. STP doesn't have a great social media person like Adam/Lorenzo so it's not surprising. They don't even confirm some shows or post about them. You can't just cancel something that Chester is involved in and not expect the LP fans to go nuts about it.

The Spring 2015 Stone Temple Pilots tour is ready to get going! The band is playing their second show of the tour in San Fransisco, California, the first of three shows being played in the state.

The first show in Seattle was absolutely HUGE. The band debuted a brand new set of 22 songs (the longest set the band has played with Chester yet!), featuring a bunch of new debuts and some interesting changes. First things first: debuts. Chester sang a few songs with the band that he hadn't already: 'Lounge Fly', 'Pruno', 'Coma', 'Adhesive', and 'Creep'. Furthermore, this show marked the live debuts of both 'Pruno' and 'Adhesive'! Both of those songs are over a decade old, Chester must inspiring the band to start pulling out these deep cuts! Other notable changes were that this was the first full show that did not conclude with 'Trippin' On A Hole In A Paper Heart' (instead, it closed the main set), and the first show to end with 'Dead & Bloated'. The band even pulled up a bunch of kids from the crowd to take a group photo! Awesome!

Check out this performance of 'Dead & Bloated' that closed out the show in Seattle! The band seems to be in top shape, ready to deliver some powerful show.

Who's going to the show? After this show, the band has two more shows to play in California: Anaheim and West Hollywood. Stone Temple Pilots are rumored to be releasing their first album with Chester in October - stay tuned for more! Clear your schedules - Stone Temple Pilot's show in New York City on April 27 will be livestreamed via Yahoo! Music. If you aren't able to see STP perform this tour, there's your chance! For updates on the show, check back here or follow us on Twitter @LiveSTP.

Lorenzo should handle their social media. Not sure if Chester would want that, but it'd be way better. Doesn't Digby and Pooch travel with STP as well?

Digby is their tour manager, or at least was in 2013-2014. Benjamin was even a guitar tech fill in in 2014 for some shows. Pooch, no, he isn't with them. Tater is though (monitors).

Awesome album from Seattle. Fans on stage for another soundcheck deal before the show. No way to know what they played I guess, sadly.

Trippin' was one of the songs during the soundcheck: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3krbBvOB6wA
Contacted the guy to ask him about the other songs.
Also, added the show to this list: http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=10627 and updated the show page.

The band introduced and brought up singer Richard Peterson on stage for the final bow. He is the one who sings on the hidden track from "Purple" called "My Second Album":
