This thread is for anyone's ideas for what songs could be a part of a different album. Whether or not a song had to be reworked to fit that album's theme is your choice, but here it is to make any comparisons between the musical styles.

For starters, New Divide could easily go with the majority of Living Things. It is very similar to the first half of the album, particularly I'll Be Gone.

What are your ideas?

The vast majority of Hybrid Theory and Meteora could go back-and-forth, for starters.

White Noise could easily find a place on The Hunting Party.

If A Line In The Sand maintained the electronic ambience found in the sung verses, it could fit in pretty well on A Thousand Suns.

I've always felt that everything from Living Things (barring COG) could be assigned to another album and still fit in.

LOST IN THE ECHO - Hybrid Theory/Meteora

IN MY REMAINS - Minutes To Midnight

BURN IT DOWN - Minutes To Midnight

LIES GREED MISERY - Meteora

I'LL BE GONE - Minutes To Midnight

VICTIMIZED - Hybrid Theory/Meteora

ROADS UNTRAVELED - A Thousand Suns

SKIN TO BONE - A Thousand Suns

UNTIL IT BREAKS - The Rising Tied/A Thousand Suns

TINFOIL + POWERLESS - A Thousand Suns

IN MY REMAINS - Minutes To Midnight

BURN IT DOWN - Minutes To Midnight

Those 2 are extremely electronic to belong to MTM.

P5HNG Remix (Live version studio remake) - A Thousand Suns

Victimized - The Hunting Party

Final Masquerade - Minutes To Midnight

Mark The Graves - Minutes to Midnight

Roads Untraveled - Minutes To Midnight

Kingdom (makes me think about LGM) - Living Things

Pushing Me Away - Minutes to Midnight

Burning In The Skies - Living Things

No More Sorrow - The Hunting Party

Given Up - The Hunting Party

Leave out.. - A Thousand Suns

Session - A Thousand Suns

One Step Closer - The Hunting Party

Given Up, Bleed It Out, No More Sorrow and Wake could easily fit in THP, while Final Masquerade and Drawbar would fit on MTM.

Actually each LP album has an other album that it could change songs with, like THP and MTM, LT and ATS, Meteora and HT.

Final Masquerade on Minutes To Midnight

New Divide on Living Things

All For Nothing on Minutes To Midnight

and most importantly, Primo on A Thousand Suns. Leaving off Primo in favor of I'll Be Gone on Living Things was a bad move in my opinion. WJL -> Primo would have been great to me. I have that on a burned CD and love it.

Of course Cumulus on Meteora, but that's from the same era.

It's hard to place anything else on the Meteora board because the album has such a signature, unique sound. I couldn't see a single song on another album going on Meteora, especially some crap like Lies Greed Misery (worst studio song they've ever written IMO).

Apaches would work well as a WFTE intro on ATS but it'd fuck up the Jornada/WFTE transition.

ALTNC - Minutes To Midnight

AFN - Minutes To Midnight

KTTK - Minutes To Midnight

GATS - Minutes To Midnight

i agree because it seems like a lot of stuff from Hunting Party is similar to minutes to Midnight , at least for me. maybe just because it is more guitar and drum style just like how minutes to Midnight was like that too

Probably also because the guitar has a similar sound because on both albums a lot of the songs are recorded with Fenders in Drop D tuning, whereas on the first two you have almost entirely PRS guitars in Drop C#.

not saying I'd have liked any of these to be changed around or replaced, but here's mine -

Wastelands, BITS -> MTM

Wastelands fits into NMS' lyrical theme quite well. I've never felt BITS fit into ATS, and especially as the first non-interlude/intro track - it borrows far too heavily from that subdued MTM vibe.

COG -> ATS
the electronic humming throughout and tick-tock drums remind me of The Catalyst

Robot Boy, W&K, UIG -> LT.
W&K could have replaced UIB or Skin To Bone - they each have that minimalist thing going. and wasn't UIG pretty much an LT-era song anyway?

and then there's the usual GU, NMS, Victimised -> THP because 'visceral'

I think most of THP sounds like it could fit on MTM except for a few tracks. Drawbar sounds a bit like ATS to me. Rebellion sounds like nothing else LP has done before, IMO, so it's unique to THP. Until It's Gone sounds like it could have been on ATS or LT, it sounds similar to stuff like New Divide or IN MY REMAINS to me.

But the rest of THP definitely sounds like it could fit on MTM because it's pure rock driven and has some old school hip-hop elements and stuff like MTM had.

There was very little hip-hop on MTM, Mike only rapped on two tracks and they were rock guitar-driven (Bleed It Out) and organ/choir combos (Hands Held High). Rap and hip-hop are not exactly the same things, but rap is the only thing that was really on MTM unless you want to count In Between's beat as hip-hop.
