Personally, THP cycle just wasn't very interesting. The marketing wasn't good, and interaction between the band and fans just wasn't there like in the past. The band barely hyped the album up at all, and just sorta threw GATS out there, which didn't help cause it was a terrible choice for a single commercially. Although, it was a good choice for an introduction to the new album. The album just wasn't meant to be a huge album, and really that's the problem. Not many people are excited to hear a heavy rock album anymore. That ship sailed long ago, as it is evident in the interest and sales numbers. Moving forward, I hope the band decides to make things more interesting with the fans by coming up with something to build hype similar to the ATS era. The buildup in that cycle was so much fun to be a part of.

As already stated, the band do seem confident in a 2016 release. The #LinkinPark2016 hashtag is becoming more prevalent with every post.

Imagine if when Zane Lowe goes visit, both Jon and Justin are there. It'll be a bald and bearded listening party lol.

Personally, I felt like this update hurt my hype for this album as there is nothing really new that is mentioned, and the fact that they are still in the early stages, though I was expecting this. Disappointing but definitely expected. I feel like the real hype won't begin until a few more months still. Until then, just gotta wait.

Personally, I don't think the release of the lead single is too far away. It's becoming the norm for artists to release a lead single well ahead of an album's release instead of a month or two before.

I have a feeling that the lead single will be dropping sooner than a lot of people expect, similar to how they dropped GATS well ahead of the album's release. I'm gonna take a guess at it and say around June for single release.

Damn that clip sounded great. I'm really pumped to hear the full thing. Chester's delivery sounds refreshing here and different than what he usually showcases. It definitely has me intrigued.

Well, Chester is my favorite singer, but that doesn't mean that I enjoyed the music he made with STP. I just didn't care for the style of their music that much. With that being said, I hope LP7 showcases a new range from his voice that we haven't heard yet. I would love for them to push it as much as possible into new territory.

Not trying to sound like a dick, just being honest, but I'm happy about this news; sorry to some of you that are not. Bring on the LP7 hype.

It can't be worse than anything they've done with Steve, so I'll keep an open mind.

Not more heavy rock...I know this doesn't confirm or imply anything about the direction of the new album, but still, while I enjoyed THP, I want something totally different from that.

So...maybe that writing session in London is for a song not related to the upcoming album, and it's possibly just a stand alone single? This has me puzzled.

Hmm when I click on the Ticketmaster link the website says that the event is no longer available. Anyone else getting the same thing, or do I need an lpu acct to be able to see the event details? Also, if I join lpu today will I automatically get the code the get tickets early?

Too bad Mike doesn't put this sort of effort into hyping up a new LP release anymore.

I can't speak for others, but personally, I'm tired of the mostly same setlist every show, with the exception of a couple changes here and there. I'm also tired of BIO closing every show, like damn. It's just getting old and stale now.

Damn. I fuckin love this song! It's so original, and the production is outstanding. I take my hat off to you, Mr Aoki. The man is a genius for creating this masterpiece.

Wow, this is better than EVERYTHING on THP. Damn, I can't wait to blast this song as loud as possible.

Here's to hoping that Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, or at the very least, Eminem, makes it on the album. Steve Aoki is a must, though.
