  1. I'm not saying they went through these things, it's just easier and faster than writing "the narrator" or "the protagonist." I do see where you're coming from, though, and I agree. I doubt Mike and Chester have gone through all these things personally, but I would be shocked if they haven't at least witnessed them. I do go back and forth with that. Like Figure.09 and Easier to Run are written from a narrators POV, but Hit The Floor and Faint were from Mike and Chester's POV.
  2. #BUMPMOTHERFUCKAS! Meteora Part II Hit The Floor What's worse than somebody cheating their way to the top? Somebody pushing you down in order to do so, making you feel weak and inferior. Mike understands this, and has gone through it before. However, he understands that the only way to go from being on top is down, and that is what he is wishing. No redemption, Chester and Mike just want these people to fall. Easier to Run Running away from your problems is always easier than dealing with them head on. Keeping these things locked inside and never letting others know is the easy way out. Regardless of how easy it may seem now, you will always regret it later. You will always wish you dealt with your problems, instead of just running away. Faint Mike has been ignored all his life, pushed around by those who thought they were better than him. Mike has been waiting patiently for his chance to show others what he is made of, but never gets the chance. Chester isn't going to sit around patiently. He won't let himself be ignored anymore. He is done being pushed around, and has waiting far too long to stand up for himself, but now that he has, he will never let it happen again. Figure .09 Being in a toxic relationship is one of the worst things you can do to yourself, but sometimes it is hard to let them go. However, there will always be a price to pay for that. They will begin to infect you, turning you into what you hated most. The one thing you never wanted to become. You became them. Once you realize this, however, it's too late. You can force them to leave, but they will always be a part of you.

  4. This is going to be like the biggest inside joke once that conversation disappears from the shoutbox. You also forgot cannibalism in you're "Well, that escalated quickly" summary at the bottom, but you included SKIN TO BONE, so you didn't fully forget it. My Love Story Set B 1) Valentine's Day (Piano Version) 2) Blackout/Faint (Knockout Medley) 3) A Place For My Head 4) Burning In The Skies 5) BURN IT DOWN 6) Hit The Floor 7) IN MY REMAINS 8) In Pieces 9) LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent (Ballad Medley) 10) Animal (Three Days Grace Cover) 11) SKIN TO BONE --------------------------- (Encore Break represents time in the hospital as he's diagnosed as fucking insane) 12) Sad Bubble (Insanity Mashup) 13) Given Up It starts out happy and filled with love (VD). The loving couple goes on a plane, and the pilot passes out (Blackout/Faint + APFMH). The plane starts to crash (BITS, BID, + HTF). The couple starts to feel the grief and despair, and when the girl dies in the guy's arms, he feels the pain and feels like he failed her (IMR, IP, + Ballad Medley). Eventually, he goes crazy (Animal), and eats the girl in an attempt to survive (STB). He is found, and is diagnosed as insane (Sad Bubble). He is left in a mental asylum, as he attempts to figure out what is wrong with him (GU)
  5. Before I was a hardcore Linkin Park fan, I thought that Given Up was a lesser-known Green Day song. I only knew the bigger singles from LP, and they never swore in any of those, so I didn't think it could have been an LP song, so I just assumed it was Green Day for some reason.
  6. I think the "320 Shows in 2001" myth is badly worded. What they probably meant was that they were away from home or on tour for about 320 days.
  7. He wants the demo without the samples.
  8. I don't understand why the band doesn't hit up places like Chicago or New York more often for one-off shows in the states. I mean, population-wise, New York is the biggest city in the US, and Chicago is the third I believe, so why not play some one-off shows in places like that rather than just play LA or LV over and over.

  10. Never noticed that. Thanks. I'll add it once I'm back on my computer.
  11. I'm not saying it was terrible. Compared to a few other songs *cough*LGM*cough*, it's great. I just don't think that it should stick in future sets.
  12. The sad thing is, this is probably the best performance of the song so far, and Chester was still REALLY struggling. Mike fucking nailed it though.
  13. But not RECHARGED?
  14. I changed mine on the 20th, not the 21st.
  15. Changed.
  16. LPU XIII Track by Track w/ Mike: Part II Hemispheres The beat treatment on this demo was a fun experiment - I took a loop and put it through a tight slap delay - the same effect treatment that was used to make the iconic vocal on the hip hop song "Planet Rock." But here, I changed the "tone" of the effect so that it changed with the chords of the song. Cumulus We tried many times to make this song work, but it always seemed too poppy for the album(s) we were currently working on. Pretty Birdy There were usually three incarnations of our early demos: 1) mostly done in the computer with drum programming, keyboard, bass, and some live guitar 2) adding real drums and vocals 3) adding more live instrumentation, structure and arrangement work. This version was in stage two. Check out the original guitar in the bridge. Universe Another post-Fort Minor demo. The main sounds were piano and mellotron, which gave it a slightly more classic vibe. Vocals never materialized, but the track has a cool, dark, introspective vibe. Apaches, Foot Patrol, and Three Band Terror In its final version, "UNTIL IT BREAKS" was an experiment inspired by side two of the Beatles' Abbey Road. On side two, the Fab Four created a medley based on various musical songs/demos/ideas; each one flowed into the next, creating a roller coaster experience. In the midst of making "LIVING THINGS," we found ourselves with these different demos that seemed to want to blend into something, and "UNTIL IT BREAKS" became that track. The three demos are found in their raw versions here. Truth Inside A Lie Ryan: Usually the music I write reflects how I'm feeling at the time. With this song, I wanted to write something epic that was melodic and just full of emotion, but I also wanted to explore different sounds that I normally don't use. The guys from LINKIN PARK had so many interesting ideas that just made this song that much better. They are insanely talented and I couldn't be more proud of the song we came up with during LPU Sessions. Change Matt: LP brought such a positive and humbled approach to songwriting. Great vibes. It was like working with people I had known for years. Adrian: These guys are true professionals. It was a real treat to learn from their years of collective experience. There were no egos, just a room full of enthusiastic musicians trying ideas, working together to complete a song.
  17. A few LPU XIII tracks. Mike's track by track. Basquiat This was a track I originally started just after I finished the Fort Minor album and was never really sure where to take it. After this, we moved into "Minutes To Midnight" and tried a few vocal ideas on it, but nothing really materialized. Maybe it was meant to be an instrumental. Holding Company As we started making demos for "LIVING THINGS', this was a track that surfaced. We were still figuring out the right time for the songs on the album at that point. Primo Although we opted for a different final direction for "I'LL BE GONE", I always loved this longer version of the song. I think this is a good example of how a different structure and arrangement can totally change the vibe of the song. Plus, this has a different chorus.
  18. It's honestly a tie between Primo and Three Band Terror. I really like the acoustic version of the UIB outro, and definitely not what I expected that to have stemmed from. On the other hand, Primo is just badass in almost every way. Change is also up there.
  19. Updated with LPU XIII track listing.
  20. Astat called it.
  21. 1) Pictureboard 2) Leave Out All The Rest (Mike's Full Vocals) 3) SKIN TO BONE Demo 4) The Messenger (w/ Choir) 5) Full Meteora B-Side (Thoughts That Take Away Your Pride?) 6) My December (Team Sleep) 7) CASTLE OF GLASS Demo 8) Pre-Hybrid Theory Demo 9) LIVING THINGS Instrumental Demo 10) No Roads Left (Chester's Vocals) Both Mike and Chester get a shot at a song sung by the other.
  22. I really like the three UNTIL IT BREAKS demos, and I actually do think the Somewhere I Belong demo is interesting. Sure a vocal demo would have been even better, but I think that this raw instrumental form is kind of cool. Not a popular opinion, but it's what I think of the track. Primo is obviously great, as I voiced earlier, and Change (Beta State) is REALLY good. Their vocalist nails 90% of it. The chorus could use a bit more intensity, but that's my only criticism. They nailed it.
  23. It's definitely not something incredible, but it's not bad. In terms of the LPUs, I would say my list is like this: X>9>11>12>1>13>6>4>2>8>3>7>5
  24. The only working title we still need for LIVING THINGS is CASTLE OF GLASS.
