'A LIGHT THAT NEVER COMES' (Vicetone Remix) Video
GlassCastles replied to Skipees's topic in Newswire
I don't see why not. This is an official music video of an LP track. -
Is it clouds, or smoke from the bridges I have burned? In all seriousness, I am fucking excited.
-
http://instagram.com/p/lBxgWHDmSv/ Hint or bullshit. Time will tell.
-
In The End's bridge is a sing-a-long. What Leto does is jump around, screaming "SING IT TO THE SKY!" Their studio efforts are decent enough, but their live performances are VERY meh at best.

The Song Interpretation Thread

I decided I'd do the first half of Minutes to Midnight as a continuous story. Our protagonist (whom we'll call "The Chemist") feels he is wasting his life away. He has done nothing worthwhile, and wonders if the world would just be better off without him. He begins to contemplate suicide (Given Up). He realizes that, if he did end it all, nobody would remember for anything but the wrongs that he has committed. He begins searching for help to leave something that he can be remembered for in a positive way, but realizes it's harder than he thinks, and that he would have to do it alone (Leave Out All The Rest). The Chemist begins to get incredibly frustrated, as he attempts to fix the wrongs that he has done in the past. He looks back to the old wounds he has inflicted on others and himself, and find that it's just too much to bear, but forces himself to face the faults of the past (Bleed it Out). Sitting alone, contemplating the challenge he has brought upon himself, The Chemist begins to think that the easiest way to solve his problems is to hide from them. He hides away, hoping that the problems will just magically fix themselves. Obviously, this doesn't happen, and The Chemist is distraught. He, again, thinks that suicide is the answer to all his problems. Little does he know, there are people who care about him, but The Chemist ignores them, thinking that suicide is the only answer (Shadow of The Day). However, he eventually comes to the realization that there are people who may care about him. He begins to forgive himself for the trouble he's put others through on his behalf, and decides to start over (What I've Done). -

It depends on when you listen to it. Like, right now it could be interpreted for the Philippines. However, at the time the album came out, it seemed pretty obvious that it was for New Orleans. -

Agreed, with the exception of Hands Held High and The Little Things Give You Away. -

Yeah, that song could be interpreted many different ways. The second verse is what makes me think more along the lines of suicide than anything else. I do agree, though. MTM is definitely the band's most death-oriented album. -

Across The Line The song is about suicide, whether direct or indirect. The first verse mentions a man who may or may not have witnessed his friend take a bullet to the head, and now is trying to live without him. However, as the chorus subtly states, he can't, and is preparing to take his own life. In comes the second verse, and now we're looking through the eyes of, potentially, a teenage girl. Her friend has died from some kind of drug, potentially heroine, and she's addicted to the same drug. She's also trying to go on, but can't, so she's about to commit suicide. The bridge starts, and it shows the struggle of these two people, until they finally snap, and end it all. -

I know Enth E Nd, Frgt/10, P5hng Me A*wy, Wth>You, and By_Myslf were rerecorded for Reanimation, Izzo/In The End, Jigga What/Faint, Big Pimpin/Papercut, and Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You from Collision Course, and I'LL BE GONE (Vice) and SKIN TO BONE from RECHARGED. EDIT: Made this reply while you were editing your post. -

I'm pretty sure most of Reanimation was rerecorded, all of Collision Course was rerecorded, and IBG (Vice) + STB from RECHARGED had additional verses. I'll do a full list when I'm back on my computer. -

So, has anyone seen the full Faint performance? I only saw the end. -
It's by far their worst live song. No question, at least for me.

Based on the last few shows the band has played (3 in 2014, 2 in 2013) my opinions on the songs in the sets. Papercut - I don't want this song to be dropped anytime in the near future. The band jams hard on this one. One Step Closer - Similar to Papercut, the band jams here, and Chester's screams are fucking on point, at least based on recent performances. With You - This is another one I hope stays for a while. Points Of Authority - I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm meh about this one. Without the intros and outros, there's not much that's special about this track. There are several other songs I would take over this one. In The End - Another one I'm meh about. I don't hate it, but I don't go to a show to see this song. A Place For My Head - Never drop this song. Somewhere I Belong - Another one I'm meh about. It's decent, but I would take other tracks over this one for sure. Lying From You - I don't want this one to be dropped. It's my second favorite Meteora track, and it's in my top 10 LP tracks, but I can see why some other people may want to see it dropped. Faint - I wouldn't mind too much if this was dropped now. Chester isn't doing too well with it as of late. Breaking The Habit - I'm meh on this one too. It's getting kind of stale without the piano intro or a capella outro. A piano version would be great, but I doubt we'd get that. Numb - Drop this one. Wake - Don't drop this one, not after the wait we had for this one to come back. Given Up - As a follow up to Wake, it works, but outside of that, it can be dropped. In fact, Wake into From The Inside would be much preferred to me, but Wake -> Given Up is fine too. Bleed it Out - Only keep this if the band plans on doing shit over the bridge. The studio version is so boring. What I've Done - Another meh. It's decent enough, and generates some response live due to Transformers, so I don't care too much if it stays or goes. New Divide - Bring back the Moscow or synth intro, and I'll be happy with this one. Otherwise, it could be dropped. Empty Spaces/When They Come For Me - Never drop this one either. The band fucking jams, especially Mike. Waiting For The End - If the band plans on keeping the Apaches intro, definitely keep this one. Otherwise it's meh. The Catalyst - Another meh. Kind of boring, but I kind of like it. LOST IN THE ECHO - Keep this one for sure. BURN IT DOWN - Drop it. LIES GREED MISERY - Get rid of this horrendous piece of shit immediately. Fucking shit live. CASTLE OF GLASS - Never drop. Ever. VICTIMIZED (w/ QWERTY) - Another one I wouldn't want dropped. A LIGHT THAT NEVER COMES - I haven't heard it full band, but I do not want it with just Mike/Chester/Aoki. Not a fan of Karaoki. Ballad Medley - Would much prefer the full Leave Out All The Rest or Iridescent. Just keep Shadow Of The Day out of the mix.

I didn't just meet LP, but I only recently became a hardcore fan (about 2011). I've liked Linkin Park for as long as I can remember, so I can tell you it's not just a season thing.
-
I would definitely take some other songs besides Lying From You, but I still have Lying From You in my top 5 Meteora tracks, with all but Figure .09 being played right now off that list, but what do I know? I'm just a teenager, so of course I'll have a bias towards the angrier, angsty songs, despite COG, LOATR, and TLGYA being in my top 5 LP songs.
-
I'm curious on what the band is going to be doing in 2015. Will they do a repeat of LIVING THINGS, with Europe/NA in 2014 and Asia/Australia in 2015, or will they do a second Europe/NA tour in 2015? Also, it's cool that Chester said the band will visit India, all but confirming an Asia tour, not that it would be a surprise.
