  1. I placed my vote. Fake address and everything!!!
  2. Clearly the song is about this (my post from another thread): Sorry if we came off as being assholes, but I don't believe that was the intention. Don't take yourself so seriously and you'll live longer.
  3. Good read. A very heartfelt and good way to start the album. It should have a sticker on the front saying "READ BOOKLET FIRST" (if this is what is on the booklet).
  4. I agree. Especially when he is with the Julien-K guys. Them and Chruch look like they could party hard. Though, I do like to see the good in people, so I hope he has kicked it completely, and that I am wrong.
  5. Checked it out last night. Pretty cool deal for the 8-Bit winners....if anyone still played the game.
  6. This. I loved Michael Buble's early "crooner" stuff before he became a pop star. Mike Shinoda rapping with a crooner? This should be amazing. I can't wait to see how this turns out.
  7. THIS. Please, for the love of everything holy, use spell check and listen to the song. It has meaning and soul. Your just looking for emo LP, not thoughtful, mature LP.
  8. This should be a pretty interesting video. The elephant photo from Phoenix was probably just to throw people off or was on the set, but wasn't actually apart of the video. With all of the images we have seen with ATS (Black & White Photos, Skulls, Animals morphed together, and the "chopped up" band shots) the one pic of Chester covered in several colors of paint makes it the most interesting. My best guess is that the video will be in black and white and "chopped up" until the huge "Lift Me Up, Let Me Go" at the end where Mike starts the chant in the background also, and that's when color "explodes" onto the screen and the band gets drenched in colors.
  9. I think the ATS version of LP should be labeled Rock/ElectroCore.
  10. After a few listens, I do have to change my original opinion of 'The Catalyst'. It is about sneezing, not nuclear warfare....i must make a Youtube video.
  11. It is probably a digital booklet or a making of video, IMO.
  12. Too bad. It would have been one more reason for me to hate WB. It was down, but it is now back up. Guess WB or LP Management told YouTube that it was legit. 1. Scratching during the intro has been taken out - ~13 seconds 2. They cut out 4 "Lift me up, Let me go" during the outro build up - ~30 seconds 3. They cut out 2 "Lift me up, Let me go" after the outro build up - ~12 seconds 4. They cut the outro instrumental short - ~5 seconds
  13. How I feel about The Catalyst.
  14. Thanks. I'm honored.
  15. HAHA. Warner Bros. FAIL!!! They remove the video from the OWN BANDS YOUTUBE PAGE!? This is too funny.
  16. Is Chester taking a dump!? Adam, are you taking the pic of Chester taking a dump!?
  17. Mark, I see where you are coming from. I personally enjoy the song and find it rather catchy. One thing I have picked up that I got to get off my chest is the duality of the lyrics. Some say it sounds like it is gospel lyrics because it mentions God and being 'saved' and 'blessed'. That is one way to look at it. However, take a step back and look at the big picture. Atomic bombs, minutes to midnight, a thousand suns, J. Robert Oppenheimer.....it all adds up to the destruction of Earth and of mankind. If you're in your final seconds of life, you're going to be doing one of two things, shouting for help (praying, trying to prevent your own death, or literally shouting for help) or cursing the one(s) who made you (parents, teachers, leaders, or God/Gods). This song dives into the prior and is a literal cry for help from the ones who have destroyed themselves. They are not saying that they actually believe in a God, but are saying that if their is one, to bless them and to save them. The song is also a journey. It starts with people wanting blessings for what they have created. The first time around he says "We were broken people", after then it is "We're a broken people". They start realizing what they have done and created. The song build up to where it is almost out of control and then explodes with the intensity and beauty of a thousand suns and then you hear "Lift me up, Let me go". This is the lyrical form of death. It paints a picture of all of mankind finally realizing that this is the end and there is nothing else to be done but let go and die. Sorry to ramble but this is what I see in the lyrics from "The Catalyst". I'll stop now.
  18. And it wasn't even a HQ version of the song on 8BR. If I hadn't bought an iPod Touch or 8BR, I would be very happy right now, though.
  19. This. Bandmerch is awful. Except, no iTunes. I'll probably just go to my local Wal-Mart at Midnight of Sept. 13th/14th like I did for MTM.
  20. I did because I didn't have an iPod Touch until about a month ago, but after the first week after I downloaded it?....nope.
  21. There is not a U.S. pop song I can think of that sounds like this. Right now the top 40 Pop charts are full of Rap, R&B, and Lady Gaga. These songs DO NOT sound like "The Catalyst". Maybe some stuff from top 40 in Europe sounds like this but this is truly unique for the U.S. (where I'm from) and sounds like Linkin Park. It is exactly how LP described it in their LPTV "Something New". They want something fresh and new but it sounds "Linkin Park-ish". They did it.
  22. LP should be whatever they want to be. Whether that be pop, rock, rap, disco, country, folk, or whatever other genre you can think of.
  23. This is an amazing song and anyone who thinks otherwise really needs to look at what they are currently listening to. A song does not need a lot guitar to be good. Go look @ A7X, TDG, Shinedown, 10 Years, or Chevelle for heavy guitars. If you don't like electronic beats or plenty of Mr. Hahn then LP is no longer a band for you. LP has evolved into something that cannot be described. I don't want to call this rock and I don't wanna call this techno. They succeeded in being 'genre busting'. Thank you Linkin Park. You have truly outdone yourself this time.
  24. Lyrics in order: --Verse 1-- Mike: God bless us everyone / We were broken people living under loaded gun And it can't be outfought / it can't be outdone / it can't be outmatched / it can't be outrun / No God bless us everyone / We're a broken people living under loaded gun And it can't be outfought / it can't be outdone / it can't be outmatched / it can't be outrun / No --Chorus-- Chester: And when I close my eyes tonight / To symphonies of blinding light Mike: God bless us everyone / We're a broken people living under loaded gun / Woahhhh Chester: Like memories in cold decay / transmissions echoing away Far from the world of you and I / Where oceans bleed into the sky --Verse 2-- Chester: God save us everyone / Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns? For the sins of our hand / the sins of our tongue The sins of our father / the sins of our young / No God save us everyone / Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns? For the sins of our hand / the sins of our tongue The sins of our father / the sins of our young / No --Chorus-- Chester: And when I close my eyes tonight / To symphonies of blinding light God save us everyone / Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns? / Woahhhh Like memories in cold decay / transmissions echoing away Far from the world of you and I / Where oceans bleed into the sky -----Instrumental Bridge------ --Final Chorus-- Like memories in cold decay / transmissions echoing away Far from the world of you and I / Where oceans bleed into the sky --Outro-- Mike: Lift me up, Let me go / Lift me up, Let me go Mike and Chester: Lift me up, Let me go / Lift me up, Let me go Lift me up, Let me go / Lift me up, Let me go Lift me up, Let me go / Lift me up, Let me go Lift me up, Let me go / Lift me up, Let me go Mike or Chester (Background):And it can't be outfought / it can't be outdone / it can't be outmatched / it can't be outrun/ No God bless us everyone / We're a broken people living under loaded gun And it can't be outfought / it can't be outdone / it can't be outmatched / it can't be outrun/ Now Chester: God bless us everyone / We're a broken people living under loaded gun And it can't be outfought / it can't be outdone / it can't be outmatched / it can't be outrun
