  1. Well looks like this one's about done. Hope everything's alright with the band's health/families and such, if Chester's not willing to say what happened it's hard not to assume something personal life-related. Hope they don't end up cancelling any shows.

Yeah I agree. I hope everything is ok. What a weird way to start a tour. Bummed for the fans and for the band. Nobody wins in a situation like this..

  2. Mark says they'll be there at 6 EST (as COSE said, approx. an hour and a half from now) but has no idea when the band will start.

Just a heads up: The LPLive Twitter will not be live tweeting the setlist because of some issues with management last time around. I'll update the main post with my setlist thing as info comes in!

What the hell kind of issues can arise from posting a setlist!?

  3. WHAT???? Blackout?, WTCFM? These indeed are the songs never should come back.

Whaaaaaat!? you must be crazy! haha

Not a fan of POA so I don't need to see that. Replace Blackout with BITS and I agree with this list.

I'd love to see Burning In The Skies live. SO sad I missed the only LA date they played it at. I'd be ok with this switch because I've been lucky enough to see Blackout a couple of times.

On another note, here is my personal and early list for songs that need to take a break:

    Numb

    Breaking The Habit

    What I've Done

    Numb

    Breaking The Habit

    Numb

    What I've Done

    Numb/BTH/WID

    lulz.

  4. Because of Mike. He's been hyping this all up talking about how he's going to bring rock back to rock music. I've learned from the last few records to not listen to what Mike says. I believe it was Mike who said that LIVING THINGS was supposed to be an album to be played lived, but look what happened...

After some time to sit and think about it, I honestly think that's what made me disappointed in the song. Not so much the song itself (although I still think it's a bit meh). I guess you sometimes can't help but have your judgement and impressions clouded by the artist's own thoughts and opinions.

  5. It blows my mind that we've come to a point in music that "It's a single" could be considered a worthy defense of a song. There's no other genre besides popular music that you will hear that statement thrown around. You don't hear fans of metal, underground hip hop, or classical say "oh well, yeah, I mean, it's a single so what did you expect?"

  6. I think we should wait to judge the album once we can all listen to it in it's entirety. But anyways, did you really think LP would make an album that was metal? Hard rock is about as far as LP will go in that direction. Going full on metal would piss off a lot of LP fans and the label wouldn't let them most likely, because it wouldn't make Warner enough $$$$. Just saying it how it is.

I am well aware that hell would freeze over before we get anything close to a metal record by the band. However, I think guilty All The Same is amazing and I expected this song to have that similar "oomph" and aggression. Like I said, I guess i'm more bothered by Mike's incessant hype (to be fair, he's not going to go out and say the album is weak). It'd be fine if he said they wanted to make a more aggressive record but to passive aggressively call out other artists and release a song that sounds like everything else they've done is kind of lame. I can see how my post implies that I think the album is going to be weak though. I didn't think my post through too well haha.

  7. I'm not really feeling this one. Sounds like your typical by the numbers radio friendly LP song. I think what makes my disappointment worse was all the shit that Mike has been talking in the media. He's been hyping up the record to be loud and aggressive while slamming the music being played on the radio and then they go and release a song like this. I guess it didn't help that LPA hyped this song up to be some grand opus. Mike was right about one thing though, this ain't a Meshuggah or Botch record so far.

  8. First off, awesome art for the single. That's kick ass.

Secondly, awesome that it seems we're going to have two singles before the album comes out. That's never happened before so...wow. I bet it comes out tomorrow midnight or around that time like the website says. In 4 hours and some change, it will be 50 days until THP comes out, according to the clock on the LPA website. Maybe they were planning on releasing a song at the 50 day mark.

Maybe not 2 singles but we've had 2 song releases before an album drop. Case in point: The Catalyst/Wretches and Kings, and Burn It Down/Lies Greed Misery. I wanna say they released a second song afer What I've Done but I don't really remember. I recall hearing most of Given Up before release though. That might have been a leak though.

  9. LAWL 103.9 is a little East of LA, but they play A7X type rock so it's not them. 98.7 is a little harder than KROQ so I don't think it's them either.

They are definitely still salty about Foo Weenie Roast.

Plot twist: Mike hires Stryker to DJ the LPFM Network

No way man. 98.7 is way softer than KROQ. At least KROQ sometimes (strong emphasis on sometimes) plays something like Rob Zombie and SOAD but even then, it's a rarity. They don't even play LP as much as they used to. All I ever hear on both stations is stuff like AVICII, Lorde, etc.

  10. Now I'm excited. Every single report says the album is heavy. And Rob Cavallo producing a song, that's really interesting. Getting the head of the label involved, haha.

Calling it now. This song will be the most accessible/the first "real" single.

  11. One of the Mods, here is a new interview that confirms self produced album and no Rick Rubin. Mobile to hard to make thread in got news so here it is: http://media.waaf.com/device/mobile/a/8831...nds-to-mars.htm

    That's a nice short interview!

It's not that surprising to hear that Brad hasn't been wanting to play guitar lately. It comes through in the music a lot since it's had a minimal presence lately. I'm really glad to hear that Mike inspired him to play again. I'm also very excited to hear that Mike wanted to tap into a more energetic rock sound for this album. This might shape up to be a "return to form" that a lot of older fans have been clamoring for!

    Still staying cautiously optimistic though...

  12. What the fuck?! One date?! What kind of tour is that?! This is bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, fuck you, bullshit! If I had one wish it would be to bring every member of both LP and 30STM from their happy holiday slumber in Hollywood with all the other rich people and bring them brought right here with big ribbons on their heads. Then I want to look them straight in the eye and I want to tell them what cheap, lying, no good, rotten, fore-fleshing, lowlife, snake-licking, dirty inbred, over stuffed, ignorant, bloodsucking, dog kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fatass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, worm-headed sack of monkey shits they are. Halleujah! Holy shit! Where's the tylenol?
