2017.05.13 - São Paulo, Brazil - Maximus Festival
hahninator replied to RogueSoul's topic in Previous Show Discussion
Your opinion is backed by facts. They went to Brazil just to play one show in 2004 and two shows in 2014, with no other South American shows. Brazil is the reason they started going to South America and is the main country of focus each time, for sure. They skipped Argentina in 2014 and Chile in 2012 and 2014. Peru just got played for the first time. What's the constant country? Brazil. They also did the full headlining tour in 2012 there. I'm sure 2010 started as "SWU will pay a lot of money for us to play in Brazil, so let's do it. Also, are there any other offers for shows there at that time?" Something like that. I'm sure 2012, 2014, and 2017 also worked that way but in 2017 the Maximus Festival was also like "yeah we are in Argentina too so we can book you twice." It's no secret the Brazilian fans fuel the LP mgmt desire to play South America. They will definitely fly somewhere just to play a show or two. Brazil in 2014 was a long way for just two shows. It looks like Japan this fall will be just for 3 shows. They did South Africa for 2 shows. They could easily fly to India for 1-2 shows as a one-off event, if they are able to book it. Yeah Spain is next to Portugal, LP plays that area of Europe frequently, at least once a touring cycle or maybe even more. -
Midnight EST or very close to it.

Yesterday, Chester appeared with members of Papa Roach, Volbeat, and POD in New York City where they all went to DAngelico Guitars of America and jammed on some songs before hanging out the rest of the day.

Linkin Park to play iHeartRadio Theater on May 22nd

Yup, ha. -
iHeartRadio has just announced that Linkin Park will be performing at the iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank, CA on May 22nd. iHeartRadio is branding it as the album release show party, even though the album is being released three days prior. Linkin Park has performed at this venue once before, on June 18, 2014, for the release show for The Hunting Party. That was an eleven song set and most bands play between eight and twelve songs. Like usual, the set will be broadcasted live on YouTube. If you live in the LA area, this is a good chance to see the band up close in an intimate setting. After the show, the band kicks off the European Tour at Download Paris on June 9th. 2017 tour dates here.

Linkin Park's next show back in the United States to promote One More Light comes in Los Angeles, CA where they will perform at Jimmy Kimmel Live. Overall, this is their fifth time making an appearance on the show, but just the third time on the outdoor Jimmy Kimmel Live stage. In 2003, the band played Kimmel for the first time with Faint and Numb being aired on television, before they launched into an explosive set of Don't Stay, Somewhere I Belong, Lying From You, Crawling, In The End, and One Step Closer. In May 2014, we obtained a VHS tape of five of those six songs and released it online. The second appearance on the outdoor stage was in 2012, when Burn It Down and Lies Greed Misery were filmed for TV. In addition, the band also played Faint, New Divide, Numb, and What I've Done for fans. In a bit of a twist, there were two TV airings, so Burn It Down was paired with Faint for the first one and in the second one the next day, Lies Greed Misery was paired with New Divide. The typical routine for Jimmy Kimmel Live performance is that the band performs the first two songs for television, takes a break, and then performs four to six more for the crowd. The other two Kimmel performances came at special events. In 2007, Jimmy Kimmel Live aired What I've Done and Bleed It Out from an intimate Linkin Park club show at the Hollywood House of Blues. After those two songs, the band played a full twelve song set afterward. And in 2014, LP was scheduled to play the show but it was canceled due to production issues and instead, three songs were recorded after their iHeartRadio Theater show to air on JKL. These three songs were Until It's Gone, Wastelands, and Guilty All The Same. Wastelands and Until It's Gone were performed twice at the same venue that day, even though they were for different events, which is extraordinarily rare for Linkin Park to do outside of a rehearsal/soundcheck. Finally, on our rare "Guesting" page, you'll see that Mike and Chester joined Steve Aoki in November 2013 to play A Light That Never Comes for Jimmy Kimmel Live. So for this show, what will we see? Heavy for sure, and Invisible is the second single so it's likely those two will be the ones shot for television. For the other songs, we're likely to see a mix of classic singles and maybe even another song from One More Light like Talking To Myself. Jimmy Kimmel usually uploads a few songs to YouTube the day after the performance and we'll also see an airing of at least two songs on ABC. The day after the show, Linkin Park heads to Vegas to play CBS's SPF show for the release show for One More Light. This will be a full headlining performance. For the 2017 touring schedule, visit the 2017 page. SETLIST: 01. One More Light 02. Heavy -------------- 03. Talking to Myself 04. Battle Symphony 05. Invisible 06. Good Goodbye 07. Numb 08. In The End (not on setlist) One More Light: Heavy: Rest of set: (streamed live to Kimmel Facebook page)

The album will leak any day, how is it a bad move? If anything it's a good move that they are playing so many new songs versus just 3 like THP.

A recent interview with Brad states, "Knowing that Sunday, 14, after the show at the festival will be Mother's Day in Brazil, Delson takes advantage and says that the song Sharp Edges, which closes the new work, would fit perfectly at the time, in honor of the moms." Mother's Day is tomorrow and Linkin Park closes their South American Tour today at São Paulo's Maximus Festival in Brazil. Sharp Edges, the closing song on One More Light, is a softer tune where Chester talks about things his mother told him as a child and how he will have to learn things for himself growing up.

They were legitimately in the studio in September 2015. That's not an exaggeration. It was immediately after Mike got back from London. They need to release some more songs down the line somehow.
-
There's no doubt the music (including vocals) was pre recorded and then just they filmed this so they had something to put the music to.
-
I don't understand 10 songs after 3 years. They recorded so much more and are even giving interviews about all the extra songs and how they wrote them. This could have easily been 20 songs, but more reasonably like 13-14.
-
They could just put the full APFMH before Castle and call it a day, lol
-
Agreed, Don Gilmore nailed it on Hybrid Theory and Meteora. Rubin nailed it on MTM and ATS and then really let the reigns become too loose. Living Things is a disaster and shouldn't have ever been released in the way it was.

Well here we have it, Mike and Chester's involvement for what is essentially a second part of the Mmm...Cookies joke release has now been released. Rhett and Link, an Internet comedy duo, joined up with Chester and Mike to test the effect music has on the taste of food. Yes, we know that sounds wacky. It's essentially a long "episode". Check out the musical pieces in the video: Lastly, there is a discussion afterward which can be viewed here: Round 1, pt. 1: Volume correlates to flavor, the louder the music, the less flavor there is. "Peel back the lid to the dotted line Fill the cup to the inside line Close the lid Let it stand for three minutes Remove the lid, stir well, and enjoy Caution: Product is hot Please: Handle with care Caution: Product is hot Please: Handle with care" Round 1, pt. 2: Quiet "There's a nuclear winter outside Everybody's gone And died But I'm a lucky fellar Long as I got you in my bomb cellar The radiation's gettin' to me Your blonde noodle hair is all I see Ooooooooh Cup O' Noodles I only have 26 of you left I'm one noodle closer to death" Round 2, pt 1: Higher pitched music brings out the sweetness in food, lower pitched music brings out the sourness in food "You're sour and sweet And you stick my teeth And you're shearing the flesh From right off my mouth beef By mouth beef I mean tongue It's a weird thing I sung But I couldn't think of a good rhyme Oh Sour Patch Kids You assault my mouth hole It's a full fledged attack On my teeth's enamel Due to oral bleeding My gums are receding Oh boy! What a wonderful time!" Round 2, pt 2: Low end "If there's Sour Patch Kids and Cabbage Patch Kids Where are the other kinds of patch kids? I'm talkin' Pumpkin Patch Kids Eye Patch Kids Nicotine Patch Kids Girl Scout Patch Kids Patch-ouli Kids Blue Jean Patch Kids Letterman Jacket Patch Kids Computer Software Patch Kids We're all one batch The world is our patch Sing with me now! We're all one batch The world is our patch So let's get together And end global warming" Round 3, pt. 1: The faster the tempo, the spicier the food. But slow tempo first. "When I took a bite Thought it would just be For tonight Can't get enough Wish my insides Were more tough My fingers are stained By your touch My heart is stained Twice as much Your love is a flame Should have known by your name Flamin' Hot Cheetos" Round 3, pt. 2: Fast tempo "Chester Cheetah reppin' Cheetos 70 miles an hour he goes Tail like a rudder Tough as a mudder Can't milk him He got no udder This is song is fast Cheetahs are fast This is song is hot Cheetos are hot Cheetohs Cheetahs Cheetohs Cheetahs Cheetohs Cheetahs I like both a lot This song is fast Cheetahs are fast This song is hot Cheetos are hot Cheetohs Cheetahs Cheetohs Cheetahs Cheetohs Cheetahs Cheetohs Cheetahs Cheetohs Cheetahs Cheetohs Cheetahs Cheetohs Cheetahs Chester That's his name" People wanted crazy....now they have crazy.

It's a stadium so they have extra room to add more tickets if they need to, on the sides.

I disagree, $10 for a M&G and early entry is more than worth it to me. We complained for an extraordinarily long time about LP not offering EE and now that they have it I'll definitely take advantage of that. Summits will return and those are LPU only too.
