My dislike for OML is well known, BUT I do respect it for the same reason I respect THP: The band and/or Mike had a clear vision for it, they did what their really wanted without caring about the consequences. Where I do draw the line is that THP is more akin to my personal preferences. LT, on the other hand, I've always felt that a sonic Frankenstein, trying to please everyone but archiving none. What do you want? A big hit album, a electronic folk record, another experimental output...? THP and OML seems a reaction to me

BID was made to bring back people who only liked their two first records. In other words: What people expect LP should do. I hate that song, but they did a great job.

THP seemed like a "Mike only" wish and the rest of the band and the label weren't big fans of it. Any possible marketing for OML was overshadowed by the vitriol received.

Sure, 2021 and 90% of 2022 were horrendous. No news, no hype, just emptiness. I hope we never return to that.

If we count all the LP singles by LP, excluding collars, they would fill an entire CD, so maybe neither Steve Aoki single is feature. PS: Wouldn't that be funny that, we're all here debating and in the end nothing happens?

You know what would be cool? Instead of putting the regular songs on CD, put some alternate versions that doesn't differ too much from the final version. For example, the Shadow of the Day from iTunes 2013, the ECW mix of One Step Closer... And some live tracks here and there. It highly improbable, but dreaming is for free

That's right, sometimes fans feedback is positive, although I feel that, in other times, we feel a little bit entitled. The latest LPU CDs gave me the feeling that they were made as an contractual obligation, not because they really wanted to share something with us. The LPU Sixteen was barring the bottom of the barrel for me. A back to OG LPUs would have been nice, specially after the death of DSPs. But, you know, you can't just make all fans happy all the time. Being this Already Over campaign a great example.

The LPU8 pissed me off completely. I was 17 at the time and didn't got the joke, but it prepared me for better jokes like Recharged.

I don't know what's the point of so many remixes/videogame scores/whatever of AO, but for sure he's becoming relevant again. I rather have this heated discussions about a track than see this forum become a nuclear wasteland like between 2021-2022, where we had ZERO activity from Mike and the band (yes, he produced a few tracks for indie artists, but you get the point). I miss those shitstorms, they were funny and helped to keep the fanbase alive. LP might take one or two suggestions from hardcore fans, but it's not like our discussions affected the band's trajectory. For me, keep releasing stuff Mike, whatever it is.
