The good thing is you have way less people comparing you at the first show. Less pressure -

I would do it, no brainer. This guy has a once-in-a-lifetime-chance. He should grab it. And no, I'm far from being a Grey Daze fan or even feel some degree of sympathy for Sean, but Cris isn't to blame. I'm glad for him -

Just a theory, I think after IV they kinda stagnate. I love their music, but it isn't the most innovative piece of art in word. They tried really hard in "When Legends Rise" to reach wider audiences, but their old school fans didn't accepted that sound quite well and the general public didn't change their thoughts about them, so they felt into middle ground. In the end, I get it, they took the Legacy band approach "why I'm gonna waste more time making music if you just want to listen the same shit over and over again?" -

A singer from a tribute band to "replace" Chester? Not a bad option, to be honest. I already have many issues with Grey Daze, but this one seems one of their few good ideas. -
Meteora (20th Anniversary Edition) | Out April 7, 2023

Maybe the Don't Stay and Nobody's Listening weren't included because they were almost identical to the final versions, a different working name doesn't have to mean a drastically different song -
Part of the success of Linkin Park and it's barely mentioned is that they were five functional adults and one semi functional that was helped by the other five to become a fully functional too. How many histories we've heard about band breaking up or in the verge of doing it because they weren't capable to behave like grown ups? You won't hear any crazy drug related history like at the Glam scene or some internal warfare shit like in Metallica. The behind-the-scenes Linkin Park is pretty boring. And although I love a disgusting decadent story, I'm glad they didn't follow that path.

Let's say that Jeff know the grey areas of the law (which probably is true) and he gets away with it. What does he gain pissing off a band which he had a bitter relationship with, and he even has published a book about how he discovered them and gain some money with that, adding more fuel to the band's discontent. Really, what's his main goal? I see can't see any positive outcome in any way.

So, the short answer would be that the project was a mess from minute 0. I don't get why LP encouraged to share the shows. In fact, who initiated that idea at first? Seems like they knew that recording and selling every show was going to be overwhelming for their crew, maybe self sabotaging? Cold hard truth is, they aren't released because no one wants to enter a legal battle to make happy a tiny fraction of the fanbase, I mean us
-
That fucking hurts.
-
Doesn't bother you a bit that they only released half of the show? It wouldn't ruin my experience, but I'd be a little bit upset about it
-
In fact, didn't a couple of tracks of that show leaked from a Mike's hard drive or something? I remember the quality of those was INSANE. Another legendary non released DVD like Berlin 2014. PS: lucky bastard, you saw one of their best encores with the Lying/Papercut medley, Faint and OSC
-
Are we entirely sure that he's gonna release some demos?
-
Any thoughts about creating another version? Why could that be?
-
That was very strange, indeed. I mean they released later on the Australian tour 2007, there wasn't any reason not to release those shows, but we will never know for sure. If someone asks Mike he'd say something like: I don't remember, It wasn't my thing, go ask somebody else

Then, I have another question for you. Out of curiosity? Do you think that Collision Course is the best and worst planned release in band's history? The best: LP is the biggest band in the world in 2004 The worst: Too much going on in the band that year and a burnt out band in 2005, wasting an opportunity to properly promote the EP
-
Not a big fan of vinyl thanks to things like this.
-
-Rock am Ring 2007 -Any other show with Faint as show closer -I could care less about the rest, I'm gonna enjoy it anyway
-
Maybe it's my fault for underappreciate that EP. For me it's like "yeah, that was cool, let's move on", and the band also didn't paid too much attention over the years. But now you said that, it makes sense, Jay Z is one of the biggest artist in the world and the impact of Collision Course was even more massive on casual fans rather than the hardcore fanbase
-
Really? I would go with the ATS era, but it's great to see someone pointing out something truly positive from the LT era

what is the saddest song Chester ever recorded?
bloodbath replied to lpplus's topic in Everything Linkin Park
P5hng me A*wy. At least those are the lyrics I could relate to best -
I have mixed feelings with RTR, objectively the show is top tier, one of the best of that era, but having those songs cut and disorganized as hidden tracks, can't stand it man. I'd have included all songs until What I've Done in the CD and the last encore in that hypothetical LPU8 or at the New Divide single PS: I love Collision Course but that wasn't the time for it so yeah, I would have kept the original setlist.
-
Wow! Great topic, I've never join the pieces of the puzzle like you did. Although I love the early LPU format (2002/2006) I also think that, this hypothetical tracklist would have also generated some controversy because of the DSP tracks. I wouldn't have minded if they continued to release live tracks along with demos as long as those tracks were like the ones in LPU2, 4 and 6. Specially in later CDs, were in my opinion some of the tracks weren't very interesting at all, they just put them for the sake of filling up.

The 15 anniversary thing is just the current trend of many artist in streaming services, they release a digital only deluxe edition with shitload of tracks just to duplicate numbers on certain tracks and therefore more money- 126 replies

Top 73 Linkin Park tracks (Spotify Data)
bloodbath replied to JZLP-Benningstrong's topic in Everything Linkin Park
The album was horrible, but people took it to personal level. I mean, people throwing stuff and spitting at the show... What the fuck are you even doing there? Obviously that didn't cause that Chester killed himself, but for sure made his last days on Earth a little bit harder.
