That’s really a problem, I mean you grow up and need to realize that your music taste is not law 😂 I mean I love 30STM and can’t stand Greend Day but I don’t act like Mars last album should have won a Grammy and iginoring that Green Day is one of the most influencial rock acts of the last 20 years

Exactly, you're not going to be the lesser of a fan just because you know that everything that your favourite bands do isn't always good. I can't stand One More Light five years later....

  2. Like said @GroundXero above, LP are a very smart band. Besides the musical talent, they adapted to the game better than most of its peers. An album like MTM in 2003 would have been obliterated. Instead, they introduced small hints of experimentation in Meteora, and new how to deal with their label. For starters, we've all heard these days Mike saying how they were trying to find a balance in Meteora between what was expected from them and their experimental side. Hell, when he said in the Stern interview "We told the label to have the first two singles, but eventually BTH has to be a single, trust us". Even a big band like Anthrax shoots themselves in the feet in the 90's for not choosing the right timing in the singles.

Even after ATS they knew that, yeah, it's great to do wherever they want, but they can't get lost in the weirdness externally. What do they do? They release Burn it Down, a banger that is totally what's expected from them to gain both new audiences and the ones that runaway with MTM and ATS.

Yes, sometimes those outings go wrong (Recharged anybody?). But let's not be naive, you don't stay at the top of the game just making good music.

Yes, because it is pop shit. There are only 2 good songs. Wretches And Kings and Blackout. Other sucks.

You're confusing your personal taste with music quality. What a coincidence that all the music you like is good and the music you don't is bad. You don't like it? That's great, nobody obliged you to that, but respect other people's opinions.

Yeah I really liked the depth of this interview, as I already said, it’s not the typical “Chester was the best singer on earth tell me your best memories with him” stuff, it’s brutally honest and goes right there where nobody would go. I also liked his fan attitude, his reactions to the new songs and when he blasted Numb while Mike was speaking 😂😂 my only problem is that I think he insisted a bit too much i the depiction of Chester’s bad habits, I mean it’s not that he was ALWAYS high or drunk, he insisted a bit too much on that IMO. But overall really interesting interview

Unpopular opinion, I do like those kinds of questions, sheding some light in the darkest corners. I don't think it makes any favour to portrait Chester to some kind of a perfect angel. He was a human being, with his faults and positives. I mean, some reactions I've seen from the fanbase everytime Chester is mentioned is just... cringe (guys, I don't mean ANY of the members of this forum!!)

I was watching Mike's live on tik tok carefully and something that he said about QWERTY caught my attention, he considers that it is something going to MTM, that is, if we have a 20th box for MTM we will probably have QWERTY in it, it seems a lot difficult but maybe the Summer Sonic 2006 concert.

Just a thought, I know our focus right now is MT20 ;)

it's very plausible that the studio version of Qwerty ends up on that box set, it's like Cumulus were played live during 2002. In fact, the entire LPU6 would probably be included. Not so faithful though about the entire Summer Sonic show

It could end up on streaming, but I think the only reason we're getting this original mix is to juice sales of the deluxe CD. I bet that was easily the worst-performing part of HT20, and in Warner's eyes that's a problem. If you can easily make it more worthwhile to the diehards, why not do it? Aside from it being shitty, I guess.

Anything on vinyl nowadays is really hyped, guess they didn't have those troubles with the vinyl box set

One ppiece of criticism that I have towards both songs are that they are a bit formulaic. I understand that the band came up with some kind of a structure for songs on Meteora but it's a bit repetitive and predictable at times. It's the thing that made Linkin Park recognisable so I don't have anything against this formula, I like it in general. But come on, in (almost) every song?!

I fully agree with you on that... And with the band. They've stated since the beginning that they were trying to prove themselves and the world that they weren't one hit wonder. That's why the had this little experiments like Nobody's Listening, Hit the Floor or the weird time signatures for FTI. Yes, not the most beloved songs (specially the formers) but IMO, they planted the first seed for bringing into the table things like MTM, without falling too far from the tree. Besides, they didn't had enough power back then to REALLY experiment. I think Meteora had the perfect balance between that comfortable sound and diverse stuff. I fully understand why they cut those three songs. They were great, but too formulaic and they already had similar songs in the album we know. Furthermore, would we be so excited about these songs if they were already released on a LPU CD? Don't think so.

I think we only have 14 at the moment. We don't have 15 quite yet. Here's the list:

    1. Don't Stay (Sick)

    2. Somewhere I Belong (Pretty Birdie/Pretty Birdy)

    3. Lying From You (Cuidado)

    4. Hit The Floor (Husky)

    5. Easier To Run (Interrogation)

    6. Faint (Faint)

    7. Figure.09 (Plaster II/Plaster 2/Figure.09)

    8. Breaking The Habit (Drawing)

    9. From The Inside (Shifter)

    10. Nobody's Listening (Working title unknown)

    11. Numb (Working title unknown)

    12. Lost (Working title unknown)

    13. Fighting Myself (Working title unknown)

    14. More The Victim (Cumulus)

Number 15 is either A6 (A-Six/A.06), Wesside, or Resolution, though, I'm pretty sure the 15th one is probably A6. Who knows.

Also, for Resolution, there have been many theories that Resolution is a demo of Lost. That hasn't been confirmed yet, but, if that's the case, then we'll have three different versions of Lost.

In my mind Session had vocals and that's why I thought we already had 15 hahaha

It's amazing that after 22 years people still believe that the HT demos were leaked.

They were meant to promote the band, their mission was to be everywhere and somehow it succeeded.

I didn't mean that. I know that they were used to promote the band, and actually provoked that the album was released earlier, thanks to its underground popularity. What I mean is that IF warner were control freaks, they would have try to control every possible channel to promote the band, and may try to stop the demos to be shared.

I'm so, so, so happy Warner decided to protect the band after HT and NOT let anything leak like how the HT demos were 'leaked' randomly through eBay. Awesome 2 new tracks, awesome to hear Cumulus with lyrics and Fighting Victim is just great. Can't wait to hear the rest of the demos.

As other users pointed out, after HT they proved to be an valued asset, before that they were a new band that they barely care about

I disagree a bit. The new one isn’t incredible but I think the original Andy Wallace mix will be a lot better. The new mix doesn’t fit with the sound of the rest of the album, and the 2002 mix most definitely will.

Maybe that's why they decided to add the original mix to the CD bundle, to recreate a "What If" with 14 tracks.

    PS: besides the obvious cashgrab

Does anybody know how to get any replacements. In particular the LPU Rarities CD?

I remember when rumors first started about the LPU Rarities disc probably being replaced I got an email saying that they would not be replaced in the foreseeable future. Later I learned that the sign up process was in effect at the same time. HOWEVER: I was never informed of that. They're like "sign up here" but I didn't even know I had to sign up anywhere. And so I tried to tell them and their response is basically "Well signups are closed theres nothing we can do". Honestly. I am pretty pissed right now

Try with the emails attached above, hope you're lucky... BTW, from where did you bought it?

@Coizu, ok, I got your point.

From the very beginning, when I for the first time heard the wizard clip I always thought that (I probably receive a lot of hate now) those harmonies background vocals on the top of it Chester sings are not by him, but someone different.

    ----------------------------

Also, there was a conversation about LIT and that they have to mix it again due to LPU tracks has some differences, but I think since there they released all song on the dvd they have to have the full concert as a audio only somehere, so if they woudn't want to mix it again or change anything, I think all they would have to do is mastered it for a vinly, just do the same similar thing like with the HT EP they did.

But, when the pre order info of the M20 appeared in the digital stores, it revealed that the new versions of both the Nottingham show and LIT were newly registered in January 2023 (while the other stuff and previous versions of the live shows were already prepared and registered in 2022 before the December), it not only confirmed that it was the main reason of why they postponed the whole M20 release but also that some differences was made. And now I'm going to skipp the Nottingham because you probably already now about it (I'm talking about Mark, Astat), the LIT also come with some differences as you can compare the length of the songs from the original release:

    1. Somewhere I Belong (Live In Texas) (03:37)
    2. Lying From You (Live In Texas) (03:07)
    3. Papercut (Live In Texas) (03:06)
    4. Points Of Authority (Live In Texas) (03:25)
    5. Runaway (Live In Texas) (03:11)
    6. Faint (Live In Texas) (02:47)
    7. From The Inside (Live In Texas) (03:05)
    8. P5hng Me A*wy (Live In Texas) (05:05)
    9. Numb (Live In Texas) (03:06)
    10. Crawling (Live In Texas) (03:33)
    11. In The End (Live In Texas) (03:31)
    12. One Step Closer (Live In Texas) (04:13)

with the length of the songs from the M20 release:

    1. Don’t Stay (Live In Texas) (03:19)
    2. Somewhere I Belong (Live In Texas) (03:35)
    3. Lying From You (Live In Texas) (03:07)
    4. Papercut (Live In Texas) (03:06)
    5. Points Of Authority (Live In Texas) (03:26)
    6. Runaway (Live In Texas) (03:07)
    7. Faint (Live In Texas) (02:46)
    8. From The Inside (Live In Texas) (03:01)
    9. Figure.09 (Live In Texas) (03:51)
    10. With You (Live In Texas) (03:20)
    11. By Myself (Live In Texas) (04:07)
    12. P5hng Me A*Wy (Live In Texas) (05:05)
    13. Numb (Live In Texas) (03:14)
    14. Crawling (Live In Texas) (03:42)
    15. In The End (Live In Texas) (04:04)
    16. A Place For My Head (Live In Texas) (03:57)
    17. One Step Closer (Live In Texas) (04:01)

you can already see that there will be some differences. The difference might be that they just cut differently the whole release into the songs. It could also have a new mix (definitely it would have a new master), it could have also some other differences, but for right now we coudn't be sure of anything.

The most difference in length are Crawling and One Step Closer.

Dumb question. First of all, I haven't had the time to see the full IG chat, so maybe I'm pointing out something already solved. In the first place, does the LPU3 tracks a different mix from the LIT CD and DVD? If positive, then they have to remaster/remix everything to have an internal coherency that the original tracklist didn't have? I mean, to sound like an entire unique show and not two different sources. The LIT mix it's like the 2007 rehearsal tracks for me. One hell of a mess

He pretty much confirmed the band is making new music and they will put out something later this year. When he says “I know where fans heads are gonna go”, he’s basically confirming they’re doing new music together and putting it out, there’s no other meaning possible

Actually no, we're all expecting more crypto NFT stuff 😂

  15. The most interesting part is this: "Shinoda said that assembling the “Meteora” set inspired different feelings than the “Hybrid Theory” anniversary, which the band marked in 2020 with a similar boxed set. “We were still processing Chester’s passing at the time we were putting that stuff together,” he said. “Now, the tone for me was much more celebratory.” When She Couldn't came out it went out of radar, I had the feeling from them like "ok, here's the song, I don't to talk about it, I'm gonna do another stuff, bye". I think still was uncomfortable for them at that time.
