We all predicted the future, my friends. Nice. I said this similarly about Lost before it was uncovered. I thought it was a finished deal, and possibly even mixed by Andy Wallace, because of its use in later LPTV’s as instrumental. And it literally was Meteora’s “Across the Line” in terms of the album process, being the last one cut. Mike even said the same “13th song” thing with both songs lol.

I also still find it so funny that Across the Line and Lost have such ironic titles. Across the Line being just “Across the Line” of Minutes to Midnight’s tracklist, the last one not making it, and of course Lost being “Lost”.

There’s still many LPU exclusives and instrumentals from various albums that I can’t wait to see hit streaming someday. MTM20 is still 3 years away, but I’m like getting hype for it already. While it has more of the finished songs already released, You just know they’re gonna do something for MTM20, and put out songs from that album era we haven’t heard. Like “Grecian”. Still we haven’t gotten to hear that. I feel like it could be a finished or near finished song.

How many songs we have that the band consider as just demos but from the outside are full fledged songs? MTM20 it's going to have a good chunk of those...

I second this so much. I will avoid YouTube comment section and especially reddit because that’s where I see the most repetition. I hate to call this one out because I understand everyone’s on their own timeline but even after 7 years, I cannot stand seeing those comments along the lines of “Ever since Chester died I haven’t been able to be happy and move on”. It’s some form of “I’m stuck and sad and depressed” but Mike clearly moved on years ago so why can’t they? This is one of those types of comments I just don’t understand. Or the “I haven’t been able to listen to LP ever since then” then why are you commenting on a LP video? It’s weird.

I like to call it "play the poor victim to gain sympathy and popularity on the internet". It's obviously a lie, but those people like to be the center of attention for all the wrong reasons

I agree. I think the coolest part is the last chorus, definitely resembles the finished version well. The intro through the first verse is also a lot like the song. In general, the actual song had a shorter intro than I expected, but other than that it does everything better. The general melodies in Lost are a bit different from the rest of Meteora, too, which makes it stick out. It's a song that is definitely ahead of it's time, the 2002 mix really shows that even though it mostly just sounds like a Meteora song. There just wasn't music back then that combined the elements that song does. That's Linkin Park doing what they set out to do.

You did a magnificent job back then. Congratulations

Even more frustrating after all the mess that was the Hybrid Theory 20th anniversary box set. You'd think they learned something from that, but it's pretty obvious they didn't.

Nah, Imagine spending 200 bucks on a boxset, and then having songs cut, DVDs swapped... This is just a regular 10 bucks CD that half of us will buy when it's on offer

They keep milking this and Lost itself, while something like the 2002 Mix of Lost, for whatever stupid corporate reason, hasn't been re-released in any other form. Lol

Until they had decided that the 3CD set has sold enough.

  6. I was highly skeptical about all of this. It's been many years of rumors and speculations that led to nothing. But the thing is, the band has been relatively active since Meteora20. What I mean is we've heard more things about them since, the Papercuts project, while useless on its own, seems to be revealed itself as a way of keeping the flame alive. Hell, look at this forum, it was almost dead through late 2020, to late 2022!

For the first time I really believe that something might happen, I'm quite positive.

And regarding to the female vocalist matter. As I always say, worst case scenario, you better fuck up doing something different rather than doing the same shit all over again.

Linkin Park hasn’t backed anythimg ‘’Chester’’ since he passed. First it was Cross Off, then Grey Daze, which is understandable, Talinda’s Chester Bennington Clothing Store that I personally have bought many items from, and now Dead By Sunrise. Sean Dowdell and Samantha and Draven and shit think it’s Mike that tried to not support any of his side bands and stuff but it never was. It was more the label and maybe even Brad, honestly. Mike always supported Chester doing stuff outside of LP, if you look at the performance in 2006 when Chester joined The Doors, Mike was side stage, there’s a photo. He also posted about DBS on his blog very early on, remember that iconic photo of Chester holding the demo CD? Mike also is the reason DBS played during LP’s shows in 2009.

I’m starting to think Brad has always been the leader of the band. Once you read Jeff Blue’s book you will understand. And also, Mike’s ‘’ask Brad’’ comment about Papercuts totally sold me on that idea. We never knew it but Brad was very much behind everything the band did. Not saying it’s bad. I love Brad, of course. But yeah.

I mean he was even heavily involved with Fort Minor, being A&R. Wasn’t Bandmerch Brad’s company too back in the 2000’s? Because all the epic stuff I have from the 2000’s, my clothes, backpacks, all kinds of shit, was bought directly from LP and like Hot Topic and shit. And it was all band merch. Brad was heavily involved in that.

Honestly, if there ever were arguments in the studio or disagreements, I can see it being between Mike and Brad now. It’s clear to me now. Linkin Park is really Brad’s band. You have to read the Jeff Blue book to really get insight on it too. And I’m not saying Brad is bad or anything. I love Brad. I just think we as fans never really knew this stuff before.

I've always thought that Mike was the creative master behind the band and Brad carried on all the legal, marketing, boring stuff... But it didn't ocurred to me to see him as THE leader of the band. Interesting approach...

There's 2 fair points here. I've heard for some time about the myth surrounding vinyl being "The best way to experience music in high quality/fidelity" which to a certain degree is true, especially for older music or for people who rather want to hear it in the 'purest' way possible. It's up to personal preference, for 20$ (+ shipping) is not too bad, I bought the CD version of Papercuts so owning this limited edition thingy wouldn't be too bad.

If the recording was made with analog equipment, like with older recording as you mentioned, for sure it's the best way.

Since most of recording nowadays are made digitally, you're paying double for the same shit, just because looks cool.

People tend to exxagerate when they say that QWERTY doesnt fit in MTM, its the album that has a 18 second heavy ass screaming and then the next track is LOATR lol.

QWERTY shares elements from other songs from MTM... that punk feel from Given Up, Rap verses from BIO, agressive vocals from NMS.

the live version sounds like a Meteora song, the studio version definitely sounds like any of the heavy/rock songs from MTM.

I wouldn't have said better. Although in hindsight I'm glad that the mellow songs dominated MTM, they had to prove that they're weren't just a nu metal band. I wouldn't have included on MTM but perhaps as a B-Side on a CD single.

seriously don't dont get this vinyl madness. FF and Qwerty are on Papercuts vinyl right? what's the point to release another vinyl?

This lack of new LPU music is really annoying, DBS acoustic set would be better.

A single song cut at 45 rpm taking up the whole side of a record is going to sound vastly superior to that song being bundled up with several others on a single side cut at 33 rpm.

The only thing better than a 10” would be a 12”, but it’s likely that it would result in excessive deadwax and/or be overkill for the length of these songs.

There is a benefit to this presentation given the limitations of the vinyl format.

Neither do I. Linkin Park is a 2000s band, modern sound, everything digital, vinyl is far from being the best physical format for their music. But, that's the rules of the market.

PS: Don't take it as an attack if you like to collect it, I just see it pointless.

Awesome stuff, either if it's after, during or before MTM20 I'm very hyped for the full show being released (RME anyone? I'm so f'ing hype for real, I really hope they put it out). Also, did anyone notice how at 1:35 the live video does a weird audio transition between the actual feed and the LPU6 version?

Yeah, it's like they had regular a SBD recording for the majority of the show and mixed it with the already released songs.

Honestly, not a fan of this idea. Getting the show, yeah, of course. But we don't need ANOTHER cashgrabby thing. The band has been inactive for almost 7 years by now. During this time we got one live album and three major high-priced releases. We fans spent so much money the last couple of years that a release of this show for free would be a nice gesture (if it would happen), tbh.
It's cool to live off one's legacy, which is well deserved. But don't overdo it. I know, I'm probably in the minority on this one, but hey ;)

Three? HT20, M20 and the remaining?

Just listened the whole thing. The live track is the LPU6 version.

  13. You can't force LP to get out from retirement, but you can't expect that a tribute band, with their hard work unexpectedly had filled that gap, to suddenly stop because you got butthurt. That's how life works, they fill a need for Linkin Park live shows. I'm not fan of tribute bands, I've seen a couple of Metallica and Megadeth tributes and they were just ok, but not everyone can afford to travel 1000kms to see those bands live, so I get the point of them existing.

Some of you so pissed off with a tribute band when there's things worst like awful AI covers with Chester's voice and certain loser using vocal outtakes in reworked albums to revive his mediocre grunge band.

Whats the most controversial comment has ever said? Chvrches is disney commercial music lol

Mike is almost 50, he trashed those guys so bad he is not happy that they are touring the world making money with LPs body of work.

Fuck HT those guys its not a tribute anymore they are just imposters that dont give a shit about Chester's death or the bands legacy they are just making money.

If the band endorsed them it would be another story.

Honestly, I think you've just made up the content of the interview just to fit your worldview.

Per this post on Jeff's Instagram 6 weeks ago:

Someone commented asking "Sooo how come nothing ever came of this? Legal issues?" and he responded "no just time and family stuff just when I was starting the LP stuff. But I’ll get to it soon. Thx !"

Still not hoping for much, but at least there's an update.

Seems smoke and mirrors to me
