  1. Chester doesn't look like he belongs on stage there.

He looks quite awkward onstage here and his voice is shot, but as Astat has said, something was obviously up because his voice is not normally that shot. I could feel how hard it was for him to sing that just from listening. Regardless, he looks a little out of place onstage. Mike can really work the crowd though. He goes right up to them, he gets them to jump, and he is filled with energy.

Everything aside, I am very grateful for a proshot from this show.

  2. I can't believe more people haven't commented on the album artwork. I am so stoked to see that it has it's own album artwork. LIES GREED MISERY never had it's own artwork and neither did Wretches & Kings so I wonder whether it is a planned single, rather than a promotional single. I also love the artwork theme being carried out on The Hunting Party. The cover art didn't grab me but the single art so far from Until It's Gone and Wastelands look amazing.

It is currently sitting at #2 on the NZ iTunes Charts. I'm not sure whether that it from pre-orders being fulfilled or new people are genuinely interested in the song but I am so happy to see a Linkin Park song so high up on iTunes again.

The song is wicked. It is my favourite so far from the lot. Mike's rapping over the crunchy guitars is so catchy. This song feels a lot more tight than Guilty All The Same but a lot less polished than Until It's Gone. I like the lead into Until It's Gone at the end as well.
I have been away for a while so I am looking forward to looking at their live performances / hype surrounding Wastelands so far. Bring on the album.

  3. This is great. I have missed any coverage for the past two shows as I have been away and working so I am excited to be around for a broadcasted show.

I assume they will be playing the two singles for broadcast (Guilty All The Same & Until It's Gone), unless for some reason they want to really push Wastelands. Aside from that, I'm sure they'll play Wastelands and some other singles from Hybrid Theory & LIVING THINGS.

  4. Why? Looks like a good movie. If not on dvd, the-usual-place-v2.0 will help out :P

It looks like a great movie, but if it goes straight to DVD, then no one will have the chance to see it in cinemas. It won't receive full promotion and the only people that will know about it will be Linkin Park fans.

I really want this movie to do well, but if it does go straight to DVD, it has no chance.

  5. OH MAN. The trailer looks fantastic. The cinematography is displayed great, and the soundtrack is beautiful.

I cannot wait to see this.

    NO! Ugh, straight to DVD.
I was hoping to see it run the festival rounds, and then do a public cinema release.

After all the hard work that was put into creating this film, they release the trailer with no promotion and the DVD is available for pre-order with no promotion. I feel like the only people that will see this are the hardcore Linkin Park fans.

  6. I'm going to hold out until the full show is online and watch it in one go.

It sounds like it was a good show so I'm really looking forward it to.
Well done on holding down another exclusive for the community, guys.

  7. I think I will get the deluxe CD package + t-shirt + lithograph. This is the first lithograph I have ever bought so I'm not too sure what to expect but I am excited. I don't tend to wear band t-shirts but it will be good to have in my merchandise collection.

In the future, I hope to see the option to add or subtract items to create your own package rather then having pre-set packages. The Glitch Mob did this well with the Love Death Immortality release. It would mean that any fans who are short on funds can choose the items that they can afford while still having more than the CD.

  8. I have some mixed feelings about Until It's Gone.

I think that it's a good song. I think that the structure is good and the sound is tight.

That being said, I don't think that this song will have much replay value for me. It does feel quite repetitive. There is nothing hard hitting for me.

I adore the extended outro / Rebellion intro. This may reflect where I am at musically right now. The outro / intro has the Mike Shinoda sound.

All in all, I personally feel that it's a sleek rock song with a pop structure.

  9. Wow. Today has really brought out the worst in the Linkin Park community. The LPU are working their butts off to make this work, and everyone here is feeling so entitled to complain? LPUXIII has been out for just under an hour. Show some patience, understanding and respect.

  10. I seriously doubt it. It's just not that good nor does it have much replay value. It's one of those releases that will be buried in a discography and forgotten about, while a hand fill will actually like it and want to remember it

Most fans did have a high expectation though. Because that expectation was not met, the album is being brushed off.

Reanimation is an album that people continue to listen to today and because they are both (by technicality) remix album, they were always going to be compared to each other.

Astat is right. If Reanimation had never happened, I think people would be more open to RECHARGED regardless of whether or not they enjoy the genre or quality of the remixes.

Also, replay value definitely comes down to personal preference. I can see myself listening to A LIGHT THAT NEVER COMES for a long while yet. I have listened to Killsonik's LOST IN THE ECHO remix a lot since the release as a b-side on the CASTLE OF GLASS single. Also, I am a Dirtyphonics fan and think their remix is really well done. I am sure I am not the only person who believes this. Some people will brush this album off, in the same way that people brushed off LIVING THINGS and in the same way that many people did not enjoy Reanimation. It is just another album in the band's release cycle for some people to appreciate and others to disapprove of.

  11. Did we just automatically assume once the Recharged tracklisting came out that since there was a COG remix on it, that it'd be the same one?

Yeah. I did guess it might have been an M. Shinoda remix before RECHARGED was even announced so I did jump to conclusions. Now I am curious as to whether it is a different M. Shinoda remix or if it is a different artist, and if it is, who it is.

Is that mike raping on I'LL BE GONE

    *rapping

From "King Push" until "She turn me on" is Pusha T.

From "Yeah, and to each his own" until "I'll be gone" is Mike Shinoda.

The rest is all Chester Bennington samples from the original track.

  12. This is going to be hard but I will hold out until I have a physical copy. Especially with, living in New Zealand, we have Friday album release dates. We almost always get albums four days earlier but in this case, it's three days later.

  13. It's not too bad if you progress enough to buy a few glove/shield upgrades. I'm at Rank 14 and I can take out any Hybrid in a maximum of 2 hits with the Fire element (except for the giant "bosses" like the one found at the end of today's daily challenge/end of Outlands level 16). I rarely even take damage to my Energy anymore because my Shield is at like 180.

...Yeah, definitely hoping they open up the second sector soon.

I'm at Rank 12. Shield 155 / Power 48. I was more so excited with the new map haha. I keep hearing new songs that I have not heard before as well which is awesome. I have high hopes for the next few sectors though.
