  1. Hey Everybody,

A few months ago I started a thread to sell some rare merchandise but unfortunately due to work and moving houses, time flew by and I still have this big box of Linkin Park merchandise that needs a home.

I am going to post bits and pieces over the next few days as I clear everything out. If you spot something that you'd be interested in, DM me and I'll get back to you as soon as possible with more details, prices etc.

Over time, I will be adding everything from a LPU Re-Issue Hybrid Theory EP to a signed Living Things vinyl to a Hybrid Theory t-shirt that I won in an LPU contest from when Linkin Park were actually still called Hybrid Theory.

I am happy to figure out shipping to anywhere in the world, so long as you are happy to front the cost for shipping.

So check everything out below, keep checking back for more over the next few days and try your luck. I might even throw in some stickers, magazines, or a setlist in a few packs.

This is a signed copy of LIVING THINGS on vinyl. I bought the vinyl from a JB Hi-Fi in Wellington, New Zealand, and got it signed at the Auckland, New Zealand Summit in 2013. The vinyl is a plain white colour.

    Linkin Park - LPU9 12"

This is a limited edition, numbered LPU9 12" picture disc vinyl. It is numbered 0712 / 1000.

N.B. I will video any records playing and send them to you if you are worried about audio quality.

Fort Minor - Petrified / Remember The Name 12"

This is a promotional 12" of Fort Minor's Petrified and Remember The Name - including clean versions, dirty versions, and instrumentals.

I have a few things I need to go and do right now, but I will continue to add more items here tomorrow. I will be replying to messages for the next four or so hours before I pick things up again tomorrow. Cheers :)

Thanks for you interest so far everyone. I will continue to post items later today.

  2. Hey Fam,

It's been a few years since I have logged in (and I am not sure whether this is the right place to do it?) however I have a few things that might interest you.

I am currently saving up to fix up my late grandfather's truck, for travel, for university, etc. and am looking to sell some of my Linkin Park merchandise I have collected over the years.

Among the list is a Hybrid Theory t shirt from when Linkin Park were still called Hybrid Theory, a signed copy of Living Things on vinyl, a Hybrid Theory EP (the LPU1 reissue), and a few other bits and pieces that are not quite as rare such as the Faint 7", numbered Crawling CD / DVD single, and LPU merch.

I will start posting a few things up over the next few days but I thought I would gauge interest to see whether or not this is something worth doing here.

    Cheers.

  3. Stay is performed by Abandon Jalopy. Abandon Jalopy is the solo project from Blind Melon's bassist, Brad Smith.

I Don't Need Her is performed by Freddy Monday. Freddy Monday also wrote and performed an original song for JOBS.

The Music Collective house numerous writers and performers who all assist in songwriting, performing and producing tasks which mainly include soundtracks. Cory Rooney is included in The Music Collective's line up. He has worked on the latest Michael Jackson album as well as working with Jennifer Lopez, Destiny's Child, Mary J. Blige and much more.

Most other performers on the soundtrack are lesser known artists.

Last Forever is performed by Jamie Pellington and Trino Madriz who previously worked together on Where I Fly.

Last Goodbye is performed by Sugarwall.

The Curtain Falls is performed by Alaina Blair.

C'Mon C'Mon is performed by Kingsley.

  4. warped tour is an utter joke with mostly horrible bands but thats cool i guess LP did this. MGK or w/e the eff his name is..trash

"A lot of bands are afraid to align with one another on record and on tour. Maybe it’s a credibility issue, or a snobbery issue, or maybe it’s just because rock bands are loners. Whatever the case, everyone else in every popular genre gets it, and they’re reaping the benefits." - Mike Shinoda

There is no reason to spread hate about one rock band when you enjoy another. If they're not your style, that's cool, leave them be. If Linkin Park want to associate themselves with other rock bands, power to them.

  5. This album cycle has definitely been the most fun to follow since I started following the band.

The band seem to be trying hard to earn their fans for this album. What they've done with the iHeartRadio & KROQ / Red Bull shows has been really personable and a great way to try to connect with old and news fans alike. The setlists have been really great for the fans. Now the Warped Tour show, and pulling on guests, has been so fun and also shows how the band is trying to earn their fans one show (and collaboration) at a time.

The Hunting Party is not only a great album name, but a great description for their marketing tactics / the way they have handled the release so far.

  6. This was a really special show.

There was nothing too exciting about the setlist but the conversations between the interviewer and the band were funny. Throughout an album cycle, they will always use the same quips (the talk about Ollie Sykes, name dropping Meshuggah, the word "visceral") so no interview will be too exciting so it's always great to hear some banter like Chester yarning about party pants and when Phoenix mentioned the house parties yesterday.

  7. Rebuilding until the next time.. And then rebuilding again and again. It's not like you can say it's happening only for one time, they can do it in the next years again. There are ways to keep the content database (threads, etc..) as archive or something similar, and keep the users database but they're choosing not to.

There is always a way to convert an old database to fit into a new system. Seems like they are just going for the cheapest solution. For a band that always talks about how they are using the internet, social media and all that stuff that seems pretty weak.

    Both valid statements.

    Cheers for the input.

  8. I'm talking about when they wiped threads that had been there for ages. That really does affect a site and community drastically. This happened on both the LPU and LP.com and look what happened - people stopped going. It's not just the post count or anything. It's the entire place being wiped clean and adios.

I know, you're right. I guess I'm just bummed out because I keep writing on the LPU Message Boards + the lp.com forums but there is such little activity, and when there is, there is little to no quality activity. I want to stick around on the boards but I know it's not gonna happen.

Can you imagine if we launched 5.0 with a brand new forum? Do you think the userbase would all come back?

You're right. You've got to admit though, it sounds silly people leaving something they love because the text history disappears. I know I'm just being lame but we should just be able to rebuild what we have as a community. If something drastic ever happened to LPLive and we lost all the text history, I know I'd want to stick around.

Anyway, if they completely remove forums I probably wouldn't complain. I just think it looks awkward when you visit a dead official band forum.

  9. Adam gave me a black pick while on the LIVING THINGS tour. I can't remember what it had on it but I'm visiting my parents tomorrow and I think it's at their house so I'll check it out. It's probably an ATS era pick but I just thought I'd mention.

  10. Nothing like losing the community's shit twice now. Ouch. Not worth re-registering there after the swap. Really sucked when the LPU forums got lost...that was a great community there and that put the bullet in the forum when they redid it.

I don't understand why people get upset about losing their post count or account history. You can still tell people, does it make a difference?

People saying that they won't go back just because it changed is the reason it died, no?

  11. I'd say that DVD's guarantee a certain grade of quality. All the stuff in SD resolution from TV and Camcorders are mostly in a DVD compatible format so they can easily be made into a DVD without losing quality, just like Astat explained. Other smaller format's avi etc. are often in pretty bad quality, so unless someone converted a crappy file to DVD you knew it's as good as it gets. Also DVD are a format that be easily played by anyone. You just burn it and it works, you often run into all sorts of problem with files that use other codecs. Another advantage of a DVD is that you can add multiple audio tracks and song chapters which makes it more comfortable to watch too.

With HD and HDTV material it's a bit different. When something is in .ts especially from HDTV it is usually a direct copy of the recorded digital stream. Material from HD camcorders can be supplied in other formats since they are not all using the same one. Making DVD's of these would of course degrade the quality.

    Cheers for the info Jonas.

One final question, how do you burn the DVD files onto a DVD correctly?

  12. Most video shows listed on LPL as sources come from camcorders that record to a physical format (VHS, miniDV, minidisc, removable memory, etc.). There isn't really a "video file" until it's transferred to a computer and rendered in a digital format. DVD-format files are essentially the equivalent of FLAC audio files, they don't compress the original data at all like transferring to a .avi/.mpg etc. file would. Same goes for webcasts, you can record it into your video capture software but the file still has to be rendered in some kind of readable file, so people typically save it as a DVD file (or burn it directly to a DVD) to keep the quality from degrading. There are some video sources listed on LPL that aren't in DVD format though.

    Thanks for that Astat.

Does this apply to all digital formats including .ts and the like?

  13. I already did that, but there's one problem "Tuesday June 17th, 2014 at 8pm EST to see if your questions get answered!" 8pm EST is 2am in my time zone, and I have to go to school the next day. Will the answers last long after that time? If not can somebody take a shot or something of the answers?

I'm not sure how it's being run, whether it's video or text only, but regardless, I will do what I can to make sure everything is recorded.
